My family is from Bayou La Batre but we usually go to The Lighthouse or Catalina's. I was completely surprised at how great the food and the presentation of it were. Unexpected in a strip mall but sometimes that's where you find the best, authentic food. I'll be back with frequency and the Asian BBQ Pork and Crab Wontons were excellent. Located in an underwhelming strip mall, the restaurant's appearance is also a little underwhelming. Don't let that stop you from giving them a try. The menu covers the Asian bases, from Szechuan to Thai to Vietnamese. Pad Thai is a favorite, but I would try something different every visit if I could. Service was uneven, with one excellent server handling nearly everything and a second server that I would call a total slacker. I ordered a lot of Sushi for the first time from this place because I was craving for it and I did not really like how it tasted. It tasted extremely old and fishy like it wasn't fresh. I would assume their fishes would taste fresh because we're in the bayou and you can get fish here or something but I don't know. It wasn't up to my expectations. 3 stars because I didn't throw up my food, nor did I get an upset stomach from food poisoning and the staff was nice. Top notch restaurant! I had shrimp pad thai and my husband had a huge bowl of noodle soup. His soup was hot, flavorful, and too much to finish. Soup was beef, udon noodles, mushrooms, fresh basil, cilantro and bean sprouts in a very flavorful broth. My pad thai was absolutely great! We tried a beer called Lucky Buddha. I got white rice and what I thought were spring rolls. They were in a clear rubbery wrapper. It was edible. We had to wait and finally go search for more sauce. No one in sight to ask. The pork was in large pieces that were cold and tasteless. I tried to eat it. I had to go to the restroom and throw up. I paid for the meal but it will be the last time I do. Arrived for late lunch. The place was pretty empty and I sat at the Sushi Bar. Service was decent but I would tell that I was there after the lunch rush and mid prep time for dinner, as the staff was definately pre-occupied with clean up. I ordered summer rolls and a noodle bowl special. The summer rolls (3 rolls for $3.50) they were pretty good, served with a spicy chili sauce which was yummy. The noodle bowl special ($7.00) was really big !! The broth was super flavorful, full with noodles and a variety of meats. I liked that it came with a side dish of fresh vegetables and herbs that you could choose to add in. All in all, I enjoyed this lunch... a solid 3 star. read more

We usually stop here on our way home from DI. They have the best pad Thai and great sushi. The summer fresh rolls with peanut sauce are also wonderful. Our family of 4 have never had anything even remotely bad here. It is always fresh and delicious. The prices are amazing as well. Our family normally gets an appetizer or two, 4 entrees, and a few rolls to share, plus non alcoholic beverages and it's usually well under $100 including tip. You can't beat it for the quality of food you receive here. My only regret is that I live 2 hours away and can't enjoy their food more often. It's about time the "Seafood Capital of Alabama" got a sushi restaurant! This one has a twist though, the menu includes dishes from Cambodia and China. You get all the classic here, the staples for sushi bars. It's interesting to finally have a place in Mobile County where you can try Cambodian food. The Char Kreung (spicy stirfry) is a must try. People, don't waste your money. This is the second worst sushi I've ever eaten! The rice fell apart thanks for being dry and ill prepared. These people apparently never read the instructions for preparing sushi rice. It has to be well rinsed and cooled while adding the proper amount of vinegar. Otherwise it just falls apart. read more

Let's get the most important thing over with first. You have to order the Chicken Enchiladas. You won't confuse these with what you find in a Mexican restaurant. These have deep-fried shells which are wonderfully crisp and not oily. Then they put in the most delicious chicken, cheese and sauce. I could eat a couple dozen of these all by themselves and never look at anything else on the menu. Of course if I did that I would miss out on all the other wonderful tastiness that is served here. My only complaint about the food is that the sushi while wonderfully delicious did not hold together well while being eaten. The service was excellent, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Happy to find this restaurant for Mother's Day. The portions were huge and most importantly, tasty. I had the Chicken Pad Thai and was barely able to finish half. I boxed my my left overs to enjoy for tomorrow's dinner. My son had the Szechuan Black Pepper Beef, his portion was also huge. Since he's in a bit of a picky stage (as a pre-teen) he left most of his vegetables and didn't take the left overs home. His loss. We stated with the California Roll as an appetizer, which was 12 pieces. Sushi was good too. You can easily order some sushi or other appetizer and split an entree with a friend or loved one. It had nice decor with plenty of tables. If your group has more than 6-8 you'll have to see if they can groups some tables together for you.
