If you like pho, this is the place to go!!!! My boyfriend and I are pho lovers and this is the best place we have gone to yet. The location is in the plaza around the back. It's decor is classy and it's very clean inside. We only got pho for food- seafood combo and the meat combo. The broth in both bowls were AMAZING. Usually we have to add hoisin to make it yummy, but their broth is SPOT ON! Service was excellent. Owner is sooooo nice (and knows English), was very attentive with quick service without hovering over us. My boyfriend got the ice cream roll ups, we were able to watch him make it. Tonight was our delightful second time here. We are big fans of Vietnamese food, and sort of aficionados of pho. We checked out Pho #1 a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved the food AND the service. So much, that we traveled quite a distance tonight to take my wife's mother there. And, again, it was terrific. This place is OH-EM-GEE GOOD! I've eaten at many a different Vietnamese restaurants across the US and this is one of the BEST ones I've been to. We came with a group of 6 people on a Sunday evening and were seated immediately. The staff are above and beyond friendly, David the owner is so nice. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and it's BYOB. We started with egg rolls which were crispy and delicious! Our group ordered Pho Tài (P3-steak & brisket), Pho Gà (P8-chicken), Pho vegetables (P11), Com Chiên Gà (F4-chicken fried rice & egg) for the kids, and Pho#1 Special Bún (B1). All of the pho broths were excellently simmered and flavorful before we added the fixings (cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and limes). My very picky daughter loved the fried rice AND the Pho Tài. My Special Bún or vermicelli bowl was just Awesome, I inhaled it before everyone else finished their food. We were also impressed they served Salty Lenonade, with homemade salted limes. I've searched for this drink ever since I first had it in a Vietnamese restaurant in Honolulu. Best service (a lil slow when they hit lunch because it seemed they had in one in front and two in back). Our waiter, maybe owner? Was super sweet and accommodating to the weird way we order Pho. Soup wasn't very hot to cook our rare beef. Fatty broth was more like broth than the really strong 5 spice flavor I prefer to add to my soup. Veggies were cooked perfect in my pho, and they had tendon!! I have a really impressed feeling with them even though they are pretty run of the mill. I'm so glad our area is getting more ethnic food restaurants! I love Vietnamese cuisine and enjoy trying all the new places around Harrisburg. This place is clean, has inviting decor, and friendly service. The menu is impressive and has some items I haven't seen on other local menus--such as Bánh Xèo. This dish takes time to prepare, so as soon as I ordered it, the waiter went back to the kitchen and told the chef. It's a rice flour crepe filled with pork, shrimp, chicken, bean sprouts, and chives. It's served with fish sauce, lettuce, cilantro, Thai basil, and cucumber wedges. So worth the wait for this dish! We ordered the summer spring rolls with pork and they were perfect. My husband got seafood pho and the broth was rich and had deep flavor like all good pho broth should. The add-ins were all fresh. The seafood was good, but they do use imitation crab. Luckily there were enough shrimp and fish balls to make up for that. We split a grilled pork bahn mi, which was very tasty. The crispy bread was filled with a generous amount of pork and the veggies added a nice texture. The Thai bubble tea was superb! Next time I will try the other bubble teas. This place is located in the inner part of a plaza, so you're in the right place if you see Arooga's! Don't drive away! You will be sad if you do because the food is super delicious! There is plenty of parking all around the building. If you reach the back part if the buildling, that will be the closest you can park to the restaurant. I had a banh mi sandwich and the shrimp fried rice. If you've ever had a banh mi, you know it has to be perfect to get the right texture and deliciousness in the same bite. For take out, they put the ingredients in a separate bag so as not to make the toasted french bread soggy. Let me tell you...this place has the perfect Banh Mi!!!! I can't get it anywhere else in the area now because it was that good!!!! Thank you for taking my tastebuds back to Vegas and LA as that's usually where I've gotten mine in the past. My Wife loved the Pho soup and I was very impressed they had my favorite Viet dish Banh Xeo which is a savory crispy crepe with shrimp, steak & chicken. Pho is the most popular item on the menu obviously, but I would encourage customers to step out of their comfort zone and try other traditional menu items such as the bún bò Hu and the ban xèo. They also have a selection of boba tea which is a hit with my daughter and also rolled ice cream which is a unique and delicious desert. It has a lots of room which makes it perfect for both casual neighborhood foodies and spontaneous travelers. It's reasonably close to the highway (i81) and also within convenient drive from Hershey attractions as well from Harrisburg Downtown. While there are quite a few new Vietnamese restaurants had opened in the area within next couple of years, this one by far has the best location, size of the dining room, and friendly hands-on owner, who would personally welcome you and would likely remember you on your next visit. We are from California, near San Jose, an area with many excellent Vietnamese restaurants, serving pho, and are well acquainted with this delicious dish. Traveling from upstate New York, we were on the way to Gettysburg. We stopped at Pho # 1. We enjoyed spring rolls, very freshly made with traditional peanut sauce. We then enjoyed bowls of the vegetable pho. It came with the traditional bay leaves, bean spouts and limes. The all important broth was chicken based and delicious with subtle flavoring, the fried tofu and noodles adding textures and interest. We enjoyed a brief and friendly conversation with David, the proprietor, about the photos of Vietnam hanging on the walls. The place is large and sparsely furnished and the restrooms are scrupulously clean. All in all a most enjoyable break in our trip. read more

Went to Hershey park and saw this restaurant being close to the park. We went to eat here for dinner and found the food was amazingly good, very authentic, and there are a lot of great options on the menu. Also Pho #1 has a rolled ice cream station where we ordered a bunch of ice cream and found that was amazingly good as well. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable, staff and owners were super friendly, so we decided to go back there the next day for dinner as well before leaving Harrisburg.
