I visited Pho #1 tonight with a large group and everyone seemed to really enjoy the food and boba tea. They have a fun little robot that delivers food and drinks to your table. The staff is warm and inviting. I wish they had a few more vegan options but besides that everything was perfect. If you're not completely familiar with the area, finding them can be a bit tricky since they are somewhat tucked away. Don't give up, it's worth the hunt. read more

Best pho that I've had in the Harrisburg area. Definitely rivals the pho that I've had in downtown Philly and even in Vietnam. The broth is light and balanced, and importantly, not too salty. The quality of the noodles, the freshness of the herbs, it's all there. The restaurant manager is one of the nicest people I've ever met. Very kind and conversational, he makes you feel at home. We have to visit several times a month, personally greeted by family members. Much more than just a pho place we have tried many of the items on the menu and have not been disappointed at any time. The pho is super and seldom have we been able to finish a large bowl and an appetizer.. As a follow up, my spouse decided to take her sister to Pho #1, I was dreading this as she is an accomplished chef, has a daughter who owned a restaurant, and a son who graduated from culinary school. The reason I was holding my breath was she has no problem telling chefs, cooks, owners, and any one who will listen what she thinks of a place. Including walking into the kitchen and telling the cooks what she thinks of their skills. And she is always correct. Her determination was, bathrooms clean, restaurant clean. Good Guest services, owner came up and profusely welcomed her and my spouse, and asked where I was by name. The pho was clean tasting fresh and delicious. Appetizers were crisp, delicious and not at all cloying. Sauce was unexpected delicious and light with just enough hot. Noodles correct, not soggy, and tasty. We had the option of chicken fried rice or shrimp fried rice. I chose the shrimp fried rice and was really just expecting that...but I was wrong! It comes with well seasoned tender beef steak, a sunny side up egg, pate, meatball, and a French baguette. The broth in the special Pho is really truly delicious. It's so clean and flavorful. We stop by here on a trip since it looks good but we were mistaken. The order for two people took over 30 mins and it wasn't that busy. One of the waiter keeps bringing order to the wrong table so that probably didn't help. The rice pork chop dish wasn't very good. The flavor was very much lacking and disappointing. My coworkers and I were in town for work and one of the guys wanted Pho for dinner. I did a search on Yelp and this place was close to our hotel and it had good reviews, so we gave it a shot. Once we entered the restaurant we were immediately greeted by the owner. He sat us down and he immediately took our drink orders. What was amazing is that he had 4 other tables that he had to tend to and the level of service he gave us was great! When our order came out, all of my coworkers were amazed with their orders. I had one coworker order the Pho and he said it was amazing. I ordered the spring rolls and chicken with rice dish and it was delicious. We stopped in today for a late lunch/early dinner, and got there right as they opened! We hadn't been here since the Yelp event we had attended a few years ago. Upon opening the door, accompanying the happy wind chimes we were greeted warmly by the owner, and seated. Talk about service with a smile! Our food came out promptly, we shared the "summer" rolls with grilled pork, a large brisket pho, and each had an iced coffee. We ordered the house special vermicelli dish, "bun dach bit" which I order at every Vietnemese establishment to try. The summer rolls had a wonderful grilled pork inside with a warm peanut sauce to dip. The coffee was refreshing per usual with large fun ice cubes. The pho was perfect with fatty brisket and as ever fragrant broth. We ate everything and took home the noodle dish for later, which was fantastic also! The owner and his wife were so friendly and I told them how I enjoyed my last visit with the Yelp crowd, and how I saw they had reached a 5 star rating on here, great job! I moved to the area from the west coast and when I asked locals where they recommended for Vietnamese food, Pho #1 was always mentioned. After visiting, I definitely see why. Pho #1 deserves their restaurant name, this is my go to spot whenever I am craving pho because their broth is so flavorful and rich. Whenever I was unable to meal prep, I would often order their rice dishes, banh mi, and vermicelli noodle dishes and be set for the week! Their food DOES NOT disappoint. Pho #1 is a family owned and operated business that clearly prides themselves on their food and service. The owner is incredibly friendly and remembers their customers which makes you feel like part of the family too. The ambiance is relaxed, there are plenty of tables and off-street parking. They even have a little robot that brings your utensils and drinks to you which I thought was really cute! My husband and I had a road trip this past week and drove from NY to NC for the week. Coming home we make sure we schedule ourself so that we can stop by Pho #1 for dinner. I usually have the same dishes but this time I try the Bun Bo Hue. Best choice I made. The bun bo hue is a spicy soup with layers of flavor. This Vietnamese soup is paired with tender slices of beef and topped with lots of fresh herbs. Service was fantastic. The owner, David, always make you feel welcome. read more

Came in here for lunch one day and I am so glad I finally did. They really made the place look nice! Its clean and bright and I love the decor. We were greeted warmly by the owner and he took very good care of us, explaining the menu items and sharing with us how much they care about freshness and health. I just loved this so much. We started with spring rolls and they were well stuffed and served with warm peanut sauce. YUM! I wanted to try a banh mi. It was yummy but it didn't have pate on it and I guess I misunderstood the menu because I thought they all came with it. No worries, next time I'll specify. We also tried the pho which came out piping hot and it was VERY flavorful. Pho is tough. A lot of times it can be bland. They do it right here! My daughter got a boba tea and she loved it! Also we tried some of their homemade vietnamese yogurt for dessert which brought my mom right back to her childhood. The food and atmosphere is great...but the service and the love that the owner puts into this place is what sets it apart from some of the other Vietnamese places in our area....and we have a lot of good ones.
