One of my favorite pho places ever and such a staple! All the dishes are super authentic, my favorite is the rare steak beef pho bowl with a side of fresh spring rolls. I want to say that this is among the top 2 pho places in Vallejo, and honestly, rightfully so. My classmate and I love dropping by here to grab lunch or dinner mainly because 1) it's close by, 2) the food is delicious, and 3) the staff work so fast! Whether we drop by to eat at the restaurant or call to pick up, our food is always ready within the first 5 to 8 minutes upon ordering. I've had multiple dishes since first stumbling upon Pho 1, and can say that the usual line up I order is usually one of the following: - #23 Hu Tieu (flat noodle, chicken, shrimp, fish cake, pork): Hu tieu is my default soup whenever I go to most Vietnamese places (that is, if I'm not in the mood for pho). Pho 1's staff make a broth so light yet at the same time so flavorful. They are generous with their noodles and proteins, so this is a huge plus for me! - #57 Com bo, Hot Ga (beef, egg, steamed rice): Sometimes when I'm feeling simple, this dish does the job of getting me fed. Throw in a few veggies and some fish sauce and you've got a well-balanced meal. - Spring Rolls: These bad boys are big, fresh, and usually out within 2 minutes of ordering. My classmate loves ordering extra peanut sauce with this and it only makes sense because portions can basically feed two people. - Jackfruit smoothie: As a proud Southeast Asian, I can genuinely say that jackfruit (or langka, as what I grew up knowing it as) is not only great because of nostalgia but also so freaking delicious! Pho 1's jackfruit smoothie has a rich flavor and a lush texture. Another big thing I want to note is that Pho 1's restaurant is spacious; there's more of a dim lighting in the venue but a nice modern twist to how the restaurant is laid out. I love that all of what I mentioned is accompanied with the affordability of food and drinks here -- it is truly a gem located in an unsuspecting spot in Vallejo (and it's neighbors with the V's very own Buds Burgers!). My normal local pho place is closed roll 10/4. I had been here before and it was real good. I was slightly disappointed because the last time the broth as so good. This is one of my favorite restaurant to eat in Vallejo! The soups dishes comes out hot & perfect. Their rice dishes are flavorful & tasty. I'm only going to dock 1 star off because the first bite I ate into the bbq chicken was room temperature. But the overall meal was extremely delicious & would come here again. The dish I got was the bbq chicken Rice Plates. One of my favorite item in this dish is the shrimp cake, the shrimp cake was absolutely perfect, it's super crispy! Every bite has a nice crunch to it. I'm from San Jose so it's safe to say that my Pho standards are pretty high. I don't think it's easy to find good pho joints outside of San Jose -- it's happens but not often. I was in Napa for the weekend and had a sudden craving for pho. With a quick Yelp search, Pho 1 came up within reasonable driving distance and had pretty decent reviews. We jumped in the car and was in their parking lot within 20 minutes. When we walked in, the restaurant was pretty busy which was expected on a Saturday afternoon. One could never go wrong for having pho for lunch. The table bar seating was pretty cool so we chose to sit there. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet and to my surprise -- the broth was very impressive. Not too sweet and with rich bone flavor. The noodles and meat ratio were great. I should've took a photo at the end of the meal because I finished my whole bowl including the broth (that's rare for me to do). We shared spring rolls which were also good -- I will write that I didn't care for their peanut dipping sauce. I think it was too thick and didn't have enough hoisin flavor. I usually go to the pho place on Redwood near Jollibee but I always see this place busy so decided to give it a try. The restaurant is clean and nice simple decor inside. Service was nice and food came out quick. Menu is a little more extensive than just the usual pho, rice plates, and vermicelli plates. The prices are also a little more expensive. Plates were about $15 and large soup about $13. The large soup is not very big and doesn't have much more things in it just more broth. Flavor of the food is ok. My man treated me to a birthday dinner. I really enjoy pho and hadn't had some in a long time. The girl at the register was really sweet and handles our order for drinks. We both ordered Taro bubble tea; mine with boba and his without boba. It was delicious and had the right amount of sweetness! For food, I ordered a small thin rice noodle wonton soup and shrimp rolls. The man that took our order, didn't know much about the menu. He wasn't good answering questions, and seemed somewhat agitated. Also, he didn't know what to recommend to eat here as a new customer. All he said was something about seafood. Okay, please never have this man take orders again. He brings the total vibe down. Speaking of vibes, the restaurant was a nice sized restaurant. With somewhat mood lighting- wasn't too bright or too dim. There are tables of all sizes, including nice window seating. Overall, I enjoyed my food and was happy for the serving for what I paid for. Hands down a MUST if you're in Vallejo. I've been going here for years - back when they were in smaller locations around town. Their prices have gone up a bit recently, but it's always so worth it. Once you put in your order, your food comes out in less than five minutes. The broth is sooooo good, I look forward to having a small bowl of it at the end of my meal. Staff is also friendly, attentive, and fast. There are people who are designated waiters, runners, and baristas. There's also a reward system for coming often. I have been here twice and both times the service was prompt and excellent. Had the shrimp spring rolls and it's a pretty big portion with fresh tasting shrimp and just the right blend of veggies and rice noodles, I think they are rice noodles...anyway the sauce is good but not my favorite. It has a very peanut butter like texture which is good but just missing something for my taste. Had the boneless chicken noodle soup but substituted the yellow thick noodle. The yellow noodles are perfectly Al dente and the broth tastes clean and yummy. Chicken is ok but it is boneless breast chicken so that's on me will go with the pork next time. Satisfying soup for a cold rainy day so I was content. They have a lot of dishes that seem interesting so may venture off the known path next time. The place is spacious and nicely decorated. This spot is one of Vallejo's finest! The restaurant itself is super clean and orderly. The menu has pictures to give you a preview of what you are ordering; and it's also translated in English. I'm such a fan the Pho Ga! The chicken breast is lean and sliced so perfectly. They don't skimp on the amount of chicken that they give per order! I also go crazy over the Pho Chay. There's tons of veggies; bok choy, carrots, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, herbs, and tofu. The pho is so well seasoned! I highly recommend upgrading to a large because it's so delicious, you'll thank me later;) I highly recommend the Tom Chien with the sweet & spicy sauce for dipping. The staff is very friendly and helpful with offering recommendations. Right now, due to this crazy pandemic, they are only open for to go orders. Strictly take out only, no patio dining. This place gets BUUUSYYY. I've been coming to this place before they even relocated! I'm glad they're still doing well - every time I pop by they are always so busy. Food - I always get the #1 of Pho Beef soup. It always comes out so fast. The broth is so tasty and comforting. My favorite thing to do in Pho restaurants is to taste the soup before adding any sauces or toppings just so I can enjoy the broth by itself. The meat is tender. And they give just the right amount of noodles - not over noodling it! Service - Friendly and fast! They check in on you here and there while you're eating. There was only one instance where we actually had to wait for 15 minutes for our food. Which isn't bad at all but that was the first time ever that we had to wait that long. Usually they come out with our soup in 5 minutes! Environment - Parking can be a little spotty especially since their busy but the parking lot is bigger in the backside of the building. I think it shares their lot with a burger place next to them. Overall, the restaurant has kind of a modern feel to it since they've relocated. This vermicelli bowl and their springs are my two favorite dishes to order when I come here. The vermicelli bowl comes with a delicious savory broth that soothes the soul when you sip it. The pork has a lot of flavor and the combination of everything in the bowl was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting.
