First time trying this Vietnamese restaurant and came based on reviews. A lot of available tables (it was a Sunday night). The staff was really attentive and friendly. Food was served quickly but I think it could have used a little more heat. I feel like their curry chicken noodle soup lacked flavor. The curry soup was bland and really fatty. Really a 3.5. Most random spot for a Vietnamese restaurant. Came for dinner with some friends on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed. There's about 7-8 tables so prepare to wait during peak hours. This place is definitely pricier than most Viet restaurants and doesn't have much to show for it in my opinion. We had the pork spring rolls ($5.95 for 4 pieces) to share and the skin is definitely different from other restaurants. It was still delicious and the pork was very flavorful. I had the grilled pork chop noodle soup ($9.95) and the soup was very light. It didn't have that strong MSG taste which is something I personally prefer but others might say lacks flavor. The pork chop was juicy but the portion didn't seem to be worth it for the price. My friends were satisfied with their dishes as well but also thought it wasn't really worth it when they can get the same thing for a cheaper price. There's a grand opening special with 10% off your bill but that pretty much covers the tax portion. They do a good job with presentation with some of their dishes but still not worth it in my books. Impromptu lunch after spending an entire morning at the salon. This place is a gem! It's located right behind the circus supermarket. I had the pho and my mother had their grilled chicken noodle soup. The magic is in the broth! The broth is literally bursting with taste. Not to mention, it's NOT oily at all- so that's a win in itself! I tried a piece of the grilled chicken- amazing. I was told to let them know not too grilled because apparently they really grill it to it a crisp. So if you're into crispy, that might be your thing. Anyway, I was so impressed that I had to order an app and went with the classic spring roll. It's definitely crunchier but the roll itself is the smaller side. The place itself is small but the ambience is good. High ceilings and big windows so plenty of light. Staff was nice and quick. Stopped in for a quick meal with a friend. This place isn't your typical Vietnamese restaurant - the menu has traditional dishes & and other Asian/Asian fusion dishes. My friend isnt Chinese but the menu is welcoming to those hesitant/unfamiliar with the cuisine. I ordered the shrimp paste noodle soup, which was super flavorful without being overly salty. I'm personally not a fan of blood cubes but the ones in this dish didn't have a super strong porky after taste & had a texture like silky tofu. My friend ordered the shredded chicken noodle soup which had shreded chicken & pho noodles - he really enjoyed it. This place is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and while the food takes a tad longer than your typical Vietnamese restaurant to make, they offer you the cutest teapots, sliced jalapeño at the table, and great service. I'm used to getting good Pho from the casual Viet places in the area but the pho I had here had so many extras and the prices were still very low considering the quality of the food here. This made me want to say I will never want to pay for overpriced Viet fusion in Manhattan again! We ordered the 4 piece Pork Spring Roll, Special Viet Sandwich and the Pho 60 Special Noodle Soup. Everything was delivered piping hot without any major spills. I had expected the spring rolls to be the typical double fried, extra crispy ones that I always get at the Viet restaurants, so I was a little disappointed. These were still very tasty, but I found that the filling was a little mushy and the wrapper wasn't as crunchy as I like. However, the Pho made me forget all about that. If you order the Special Pho in the restaurant, you get a giant bowl of brisket, beef eye round, tendon, tripe, and beef ball for the shocking price of $10.50. They mean business when they cook this bowl, because everything about it is perfection soothing the soul on a chilly winter night. I could wax poetic about the juices and the tenderness of the meats, how they were never ending, and how a sip of the broth seems to awaken every taste bud in the mouth.. Simply put, this pho is so umami and magical. It was enough to feed me for 2 meals and even eating it the day after was extremely satisfying. The next day I had the Special Viet Sandwich for lunch, and no surprise here, this was delicious as well. Equal fillings of Vietnamese ham, grilled caramelized pork, and pate mixed with carrots and cilantro give you a fresh, yet savory sandwich that leaves you sated without the itis. I live super close to Pho60 and that's why this por is my go to for pho. The broth is a little on the salty side but I still like it! They have some traditional Vietnamese items like their style of rice Crepes. I've tried so many things so far and everything is very tasty. The portions are decent. A group of us decided to stop here for dinner on a rainy night, and there was no wait and plenty of tables available. Definitely a cleaner restaurant than your typical Viet spots and the prices were about the same (not as expensive as your hipster Viet spots). I had the grilled pork vermicelli ($8.95) and added spring rolls to it for an extra fee. It was a huge portion and definitely came with a lot more pork than I expected. The pork was flavorful but ended up being too salty for my liking. The spring rolls were decent, I definitely had better elsewhere. The waitress brought us extra fish sauce for some of our dishes. Most of my other friends had got the pho (they've already been there before) and love the broth. The service was amazing - our waitress was accommodating and even offered a little heater by our table because it was a bit chilly in there. They measured our temperature before we sat down and also we had to write our personal information for COVID precautions. The Pho was very good and flavorful and the grilled pork chop came already cut, which is super convenient. The spring rolls were really good but my friend didn't like how small they were and how they looked like they had just come out of a package. However, I thought the flavor was good as well as the accompanying fish sauce. The rolls were also very good, the avocado roll and spicy tuna tasted very fresh. Eating pho usually reminds me of going in to a dirty hole in the wall for some cheap good food, but Pho 60 is different. They have modern decorations that make the place look clean. Upon getting seated, you're given a menu that doesn't look like its been around for years and then they serve you tea in a cute ceramic teapot. My table ordered the beef brisket pho, curry chicken noodle soup, spicy beef and pork noodle soup, and curry chicken with rice. I liked how they offered pho with only brisket because pho usually comes with eye of round, a lean part of the cow that I don't enjoy because it usually comes out tough. The curry chicken noodle soup was interesting and def like nothing I've ever had before in a viet restaurant. It was similar to Laksa, Malaysia's version of curry noodles, except their version was saltier, not as creamy, and had rice noodles. The spicy beef and pork noodle soup was prob my fav because the type of noodles paired so nicely with the broth. The broth may be a little too salty for some, but I thought it was good. It was reminiscent of tom yum soup with salty and sour notes. I didn't get to try the curry chicken with rice, but my only complaint was that it took so long to come out. Came here awhile ago on a week night and place was fairly packed. Ordered their Beef Noodle Pho and some appetizer dishes not knowing whether it pairs up to the rest of the Vietnamese restaurant around the area. The Pho noodle soup definitely is the standout winner; broth was flavorful, meat was tender and the rest of the noodle bowl tasted good. The appetizer dishes was another story, the fried chicken wing was way too oily. I used so many tissue to blot off the excess oil, even the waitress asked the cook in the back about the dish. A great place to get a good bowl of pho for a cheaper price. I would say my pho rating is a 4/5. Reason why I gave three stars is because of the overall service was absolutely rude and shitty. I understand some traditional chinese restaurant don't care about their customers service as much but this is the 21st century. If you can't speak quality service, you might as well be out of the industry no matter how good your product is. We came in and and rang the bell several times and no one tended to us till like after 5+ minutes. The lady just shoved us the menu and kept on hurrying us to finish up every 5 minutes toward the end when there's barely anyone in line. I really love Pho 60, their Pho is super refreshing and delicious and i had a great time with my friends there. Their complementary tea in the tea pot and tea cups is super cute, they give green tea and their food was so good, i never had to ask for anything. Their staff was so friendly and nice to my friends and I. I did get their chicken curry soup, and it had an amazing flavor, i tasted coconut, however with that specific soup, the noodles were a bit over cooked and honestly it tasted like spaghetti but i hope i'm wrong lol. I may have found my new go-to Vietnamese spot! It's located a few blocks away from the crowded Brooklyn Chinatown so it's less crowded. At least for now. The decor is cute and cozy, a step away from your usual Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. The food is pretty legit and as close to what I've eaten in Little Saigon in the LA area. They actually have bun rieu here which is a crab and tomato base soup and most pho places don't even have that on their menu. So far I have tried their Vietnamese pancake, the rice cake, the special pho 60 noodle soup which is the well known number 1 in pho which everyone has ordered before and the shrimp paste bun rieu. And we had the flan and tapioca cake for dessert. The pancake was good, nice and crispy with lots of fillings inside. The rice cake was not so good. Too mushy and bland for my liking. The version in LA served it with fried pork rinds which gives it flavor and crunch. The pho soup was delicious. The broth was very clean yet tasty and served with a mound of meat. The bun rieu was also delicious. So packed with flavor you just can't stop eating until the bowl is gone. The desserts were ok, nothing special but my friends wanted something sweet so we got them. My family and I love this spot for their authentic Vietnamese dishes and have ordered regularly from this spot since COVID started. Some of our favorites are the bun bo hue, curry chicken noodles, and the house special pho. Their noodle dishes are on the larger side which my brother really appreciates. Each of their dishes is filled with immense flavor and leaves us feeling super satisfied. I used to crave a spot in Philly that has the best bun bo hue in my opinion and was pretty bummed that I couldn't find a spot in NYC that even came close. However, after finding this spot I can now satisfy those bbh cravings. After trying so many different spots, I feel like this place has the best BBH in the city. Oh man, is Sunset Park going through a transformation? I mean, this restautant is located in Dyker Heights but it's close to 8th Avenue. The ethnic restaurants around here are starting to look cleaner and trendier. What makes Pho 60 stand out from the other run-of-the-mill Vietnamese restaurants is that it has a trendy and bright interior - almost like a hip cafe. I don't think the food quality is any different from other Vietnamese places in Sunset Park but at least the quality of the food is well made. Pho 60 gets busy around dinnertime with people waiting for a table to sit. I thought the Spring Rolls were really good - crispy and hot. Oh my oh my. This has got to be one of the BEST pho restaurants in New York City... FIRST, the name pretty much gives it away. A lot of my Vietnamese friends would mention if a Pho place has a number in its name, then it's really good. Well I'm glad they weren't wrong about Pho 60. ANYWAYS, I came here on a rainy Saturday and was greeted very warmly by staff who quickly got a bucket to put my umbrella in. After that, she sat us towards the back of the restaurant, right under the TV. The service was very prompt and the menu offered a lot of traditional Vietnamese dishes... something you don't see a lot in other Vietnamese restaurants. Contrary to what I usually get, I decided to get the Shredded Chicken Pho and a Vietnamese Hot Coffee. My boyfriend got the Special Beef Pho. The coffee arrives first and it was very strong and sweet just like how all Vietnamese coffee should be. Our pho arrived a bit later and I immediately noticed how clear my soup was! The same for my boyfriends dish and I knew HANDS DOWN that it was going to be a banging pho. BOY OH BOY, I was not wrong... it was probably one of the most delicious bowls of pho that I've ever had. Finally a new Vietnamese spot that opened around the area, besides eating at Gia Lam on 8th Avenue. Location: Great location IMO. Transit friendly if you don't drive, N train and two bus lines (b16 and b9). If you do drive, it might be hard to find parking during certain times of the day due to the supermarket across the street and people buying grocery. Great area to be seen by car traffic and by foot if you are just passing by! Customer Service/Environment: Decorations are definitely very modern and I just love the whole wooden look they decorated their restaurant with. Seating is limited since the place isn't quite big. This is my second time coming in a month and I have to say the owners were very kind. They asked for my opinion on their food and I was being honest the first time I came and the second time I came, they already took my opinion and changed what I thought could have been better and I am glad they did. Shows they care about their customers and want their customers to enjoy their food. Since they just opened maybe only a month, they still are short on waitresses (add one more waitress and would be perfect). This review is for my takeout experience. At the time, the delivery fee from GrubHub/Seamless was $1.99 but I think delivery is free now. The 10% discount does not apply to takeout orders, nor did the driver carry change. It was about a 45 minute wait, but the order came correctly and was neatly packaged in sturdy containers. I do wish they gave more bean sprouts; I definitely received more when I dined in. Spring rolls were really good, shouldn't be hard to mess up. The soups smelled and looked so yummy, but the beef stew was super oily and had no taste except for oil. I tried soaking it up as well as sriracha but it didn't change the oily taste and texture. The shrimp last had 2 little shrimps in it and two chunks of tofu, and broth. Nothing else. The broth was really chunky but had no flavor. The noodles in the soup were really good- but the broth was all around nasty. The beef chunks in my soup were tender as well.
