This place went down after covid. They really never recover back up. They are still wanting you to order and pay first before you go seat yourself with a number. Also yes, you'll have to grab your own utensils also. It became like a fast food change like McDonald's. Your order and grab a number and server will bring out your food. That's even if you get everything you ordered. And if you don't get everything you order. When mentioning to the staff. They'll throw a fit or give you a attitude as if your the one giving them the attitude. Yeah. This place use to be one of the best in town. But now it had fell towards bottom. I'm just not too sure of the restaurant after my first visit. I got the pho to go however it was super difficult to put together because all of the ingredients were not pre mixed and the bowl was too little for it all. The steak said it came rare but should have said raw. The broth was amazing though. I will sit in next visit. The restaurant is very cluttered. read more

My family and I have eaten here plenty of times! It's one of our go-to vietnamese restaurants in the area. I love their vermicelli bowl (#43)!! Besides the pho, all their dishes is put in to-go containers but that isn't an issue with me. The quality of their food is still great! Not to mention the portion was fitting for me. You receive a number topper after paying for your food then you choose your seat. After being served your food, you won't be attended to again. Therefore, I cannot say much about the service besides the cashier doing their job and being patient as I looked at the menu. The restaurant had two televisions running in the background with music playing as well. It wasn't too distracting and at an appropriate sound level. Overall, if you're looking for a quick eat and causal restaurant then look no further! read more

The location is not exactly close to the center of town, but the food quality was very good and the prices were in-line with other pho/Vietnamese restaurants I've visited. The selection of Pho varieties is what drew me to Pho777 and it did not disappoint. I tried the Pho Tai Nam rare beef and brisket. I did notice the soup base didn't seem to be beef-based, but still very delicious. The meat was great quality, well portioned, and the garnishes also well portioned. I also had a side of the fried spring rolls and they were delicious. All in all, a good visit but... if you order the Pho as carryout; remember to BUY A PHO BOWL as it's pretty difficult to combine all the various ingredients in the quart container of broth without any space. I had to cobble together a system using a couple of cereal bowls from my hotel room to divide everything and make a meal out of it. I saw the bowls listed for $1 when I checked out but it didn't even dawn on me that I would need one until I got back to my room! read more

Pho 777 is our go-to pho restaurant here in the Catawba county area. It's broth is the most consistent and flavorful though it can have some days where you can tell they add water. Pho Saigon down the street doesn't even compete to Pho 777. They're still trying to figure out service because of Covid but their service is always friendly and welcoming. read more

Dine in and everything is in a plastic... Don't feel like a restaurant anymore. The pho is still good but in a plastic and paper bowl the bowl doesn't look as an appetites as before. The bowl is small and it's was hard to but the veggies in their over flow the broth. Definitely going to Bangkok pho now. read more

Just come for the food. Reasonably priced Vietnamese food served efficiently in a somewhat run-down strip mall. You put your order in after milling about with a laminated menu up front and grab some utensils and a seat. This is not a place for ambiance so don't expect anything to focus your eyes on except the food, which is very good and enormous in portion. Food wise they are 5 's but we went in for "dine in" and now all dine in is plastic and to go plates, bowls, spoons, forks, cups, literally EVERYTHING! Oh and you have to throw away trash yourself too! I understand being short staffed but when I go dine in I expect to eat like at a restaurant. If I wanted to go plastic everything I would order to go, it's just inconvenient paying for rising cost of their delicious food and having to self serve pretty much everything. Pho 777 is always packed with customers (in a good way). I have been to Pho 777 since the opening. Not to long ago, I finally had a chance to try something other than Pho (I'll come back to the Pho review). I decided to get myself a rice plate for lunch. I have to say that it was one of the better rice plates that I've had. The sunny side egg was on point along with the bbq pork. The portion size was perfect for the menu price. As for the Pho, it's a delicious broth but not my cup of tea. It's eatable but is not consistent enough to the point where you know what you're going to get. I believe that consistency is the key to a delicious bowl of Pho. Customer service on the other hand is nice. The only problem is that there are too many customers and not enough waitresses/waiters. ***Do not make lemonade with the lemon, water, and sugar on the table or you will be charged. haha read more

Pho was pretty good! I'm from Phoenix , AZ and we have a lot of options there, in Hickory, not so much. This compared to the pho I have back home, did not disappoint! The prices have gone up from the menus posted, the $9 pho went up to $11 but understandable with inflation. All silverware was single use including cups. Staff was friendly and helpful, as it was our first time here and had some questions! Would reccomend! read more

Food and service is always great. They tend to get a little busy so you should always reserve ahead of time to ensure a spot. For appetizers, I get either the tofu skins, egg rolls or spring rolls. We stopped here for dinner one night on a roadtrip to Asheville. We had heard good things about the Vietnamese food in the area, due to the larger Vietnamese population living nearby. In general, we were pretty impressed with our meal. We started off with the fresh summer rolls with shrimp. They lacked some of the fragrant herbs, but they were paired with a good peanut dipping sauce. The bún vermicelli with pork and shrimp was very tasty, with the smoky flavours of the grilled meat coming through. The pho' with chicken was a nice savory broth, and the main dishes were offered with a side accompaniment of bean sprouts, lime wedges, chiles, and basil. We left very satisfied and it was some of the better Vietnamese food we'd had in a while. We will definitely be back when passing through the area. read more

Pho 777 is one of the best pho place in hickory/conover/Newton area. It definitely changed a lot since Covid. They don't have many employees anymore so their service system is a kind of self-serve where you pay first and get your own utensils but they still bring your food out to you. Oh... Pho...! I could eat their #44 every night!!! I have been here more than a couple dozen times and I can not remember a single time I've been disappointed. Love the pho but I just can't let go of the Vermicelli with Grilled Pork (#44)...! Yes I can remember the time I was disappointed, it was a Wednesday night, they are closed on fricking Wednesdays! Cheers July 2017 I am starting to get really disappointed with 777... even though the food is very good, the service is killing me. Take out is getting to be hit or miss... the phone never has a message stating they are closed unexpectedly or like now when a unexpected prolong closing is taking place. Just getting really disappointed. Still love the 44! August 2018... I should have updated long ago as 777 has done me well. Food has always been good but what I really appreciate is that they are doing a better job at updating the phone messages if they happen to be closed! Everything is pretty decently priced (around $8) but we were most impressed with how cheap the thai tea was! (Only $2) the thai tea was on the sweeter side but was still decent. When I go to a Pho restaurant, I am always hopeful that they will serve fresh enough veggies and basil for the soup, and that the broth will be decent. For a small town in the USA, this is a decent shop. As my pictures show, they present fresh foods... I would like a bit fuller flavor from the broth, but it was very good, anyway. My son ordered the chicken fried rice, and it was outstanding! I would get this anytime from Pho 777, ahead of any local Chinese restaurant's preparation. I've been there twice now, and my third trip, I was hopeful they'd be open on New Year's day, but they weren't. I had to go down the street to the other Pho place. I will not be returning here. The pho was greasy I have never had greasy pho. I received quick services when seated. Order taken promptly. But as soon as we got our food nobody came back to see if drinks needed to be refilled or anything. I had to get up an ask a wait staff for my ticket to cash out.
