The bbq pork Banh min sandwich is a MUST TRY! I am from Cali and am very familiar with Vietnamese sandwiches but have not tasted anything like this...It may not look impressive when served, but once you take a bite into the crunch, the unique flavor of the sauce hijacks your palette and you can't help but smile knowing that you made the right choice. I was in salisbury for business and looking for a quick lunch spot near me. I looked up places near me and this place caught my interest. People raved about the lemongrass shrimp so I decided to try it. First off this place is soo cute! But be warned their next door neighbors are a drive thru japanese place and so the parking lot gets full of cars moving in the line quickly, be careful where you park of you may get stuck. But the place was small and refreshing to look at with a cute little patio. I ordered their lemongrass shrimp bahn mi and the crab ragoon egg roll. Everything was hot, fresh, and completely loaded up! They did not skimp on anything. Everything was so packed with flavor! The staff was super nice super nice and went out of their way to help me. Cheerwine Festival Review! Staff was SUPER friendly and the area was very clean. We ordered the chicken banhmi fries. The flavor of the chicken was great and there was very good level of acid in the pickled vegetables. It was a fun and cute Cheerwine mayo drizzled on top. I do wish the fries were drained from the grease, and a bit thinner. The eating experience wasn't as fun/practical as we would have hoped. But due to the flavors we are excited to visit the restaurant location and have a traditional banh mi! read more

Tried their Cheerwine Infused Vietnamese Pok Pok Wings during the Cheerwine Festival in May and loved these! The meat had so much flavor and the sauce was amazing. Probably the best wings I've ever had lol. We also had the Cheerwine Limeade and it was pretty good. Not very sweet, but I like drinks that aren't overly sweet! It's kind of a hole in the wall type of place but the food is awesome and the staff quite conscientious. I haven't had a bad dish there.. my favorites are the lemongrass bahn mi sandwiches, or the rice bowls. I also like their appetizers, their chicken wings, and their gyoza ( fried or steamed). I had their crab Rangoon eggroll roll., it was fine. It's just I think my taste changed because I don't even like the regular crab Rangoon anymore and I love crab. Staff was super polite and service was fast. The Bahn Mi was pretty awesome! I had the pork. I was a little confused by the menu...just call the traditional Bahn Mi "Bahn Mi." The rest seem cool but shouldn't have to ask "which one is the basic?" The Pho was very disappointing. Sorry to say as my wife and kids had that so I was the only one that enjoyed the meal. Next level delicious! The bbq pork bahn mi is one of the best I've had. The bread was out of this world and the pork was the bomb. Spring rolls were also great! Get the garlic noodles! Epic AF. We came to Salisbury for some MCM furniture and antique adventure and had to stop for banh mi. Walking in early on a Saturday there was a steady stream of people. The woman at the front was so nice and took care of us quickly: we got two banh mi (tofu and deep fried quinoa shrimp) and tofu banh mi fries. I'm not lying when I say I'm getting hungry thinking about it again. The sandwich: I was a tiny bit nervous because bread has been a make or break for most of my banh mi: this was amazing! Really chewy and held the sandwich together nicely. The tofu was cut small and very flavorful, and the shrimp was INCREDIBLE. Pickled veggies were flavorful (could have used a tiny more punch but that's nitpicking!) cilantro fresh, cucumber perfection. The mayo was a perfect amount and the hoisin (chefs kiss!) These FRIES: ok ok I'm converted. Steak fries and all the banh mi goodness piled on top with an egg and spicy mayo! All of it 10/10 also the giant Vietnamese iced coffee? A an awesome hole in the wall. WOW what a find, pretty simple inside and has about 5 tables for seating inside. The staff was very friendly and wasn't pushy for us to order even though it was our first time. You can tell this place is a town favorite, an award from Yelp is on their front counter. The GGG newspaper clipping is hanging on the wall by the door, some discounts if you order online, they were making pick up orders as we were waiting. The banh mi here is not good at all. Meat was unevenly season and some part were extremely salty. The pickle veggies was all mush. The Pho was even worse. The broth was black in color!!! Delicious food and friendly service! Not being very familiar with Vietnamese food, we had some questions that were patiently answered by the kind counter staff. We ordered a BBQ pork Bahn Mi sandwich and a large "everything" pho, which was split into two bowls. Both were quickly served and full of flavor. The tender pork with a tasty sauce on a crunchy roll with fresh cucumbers and shredded carrots all melded together into the most delicious sandwich. Along with the pho it made the perfect lunch, albeit a bit expensive ($33) including soft drinks. There's a small dining room and tables outside as well. Service was exceptional! This might be an unpopular opinion but I didn't really care for my Banh Mi sandwich here. I think the whole "fusion" thing can sometimes go a bit too far and in this instance, it was for me. I ordered the BBQ pork Banh Mi sandwich. Banh Mi is one of my favorite Vietnamese menu items and I love the freshness the pickled veggies give this sandwich. At Yummi, however their bbq pork was more like chunks in a very savory gravy. The pickled veggies were shredded so they didn't give that crunch I was looking for. The bread was warmed and crusty but it seemed like it was over cooked because the ends were very hard. This was also the messiest Banh Mi I've ever had. Pieces of meat kept falling out and I used more napkins than I would usually need because it was so saucy. My husband got the Banh Mi pho because it was a unique item but the abundance of sriracha and hoisin drizzled on the top to make it photo ready made it impossible to eat without getting it all over with each bite. His pho broth was yummy though and I think I'd stick with that and skip the Banh Mi sandwiches next time. I get that food photos promote business on social media but at what point does the look of menu items become more important than the balance of flavors? This practice of adding sauce all across the top of the sandwich they have means they should serve it with a knife and fork at least. We also ordered summer rolls and some of their house made limeade. The summer rolls were yummy but the peanut sauce served with them was a miss for us. We both thought it was too heavy and rich for a summer roll. My husband and I both liked it with a bit of hoisin and sriracha we had on the table much better. The limeade was very good and if I were in the area again, I'd stop in just for that alone. The service was very friendly from the time we walked in. They checked on our meal and thanked us for coming in when we were leaving. I can see how a place like this is popular in this area. Not everyone has tasted an authentic Banh Mi to know how theirs is so different. It's just so far from what I was expecting or craving I couldn't give it more than 3 stars this time. Perhaps on a future visit I'll order some pho and be blown away. read more

I'm in the Salisbury area for work - for 3 weeks. 1st - I am Vietnamese - born in Vietnam. 2nd - I've lived in Houston TX, and the surrounding area nearly all my adult life (except for one year near San Antonio). The quality and flavor of the food was terrific. I've been searching for pho, and this place hit the spot with savory broth and great noodle texture.
