This place has become my Friday afternoon office in what I call Pho Friday. My friend and I dine here for lunch every Friday. I usually have the number 6 that's filled with beef and good broth and I ask for the glass noodles. I add in basil and a little hot sauce. They remember what my friend and I order so we never need menus unless I want to change it up and sometimes I do. A beef banh mai (S7) lemongrass marinated beef in a sandwich or N6 Bun Bo Hue - spicy beef soup with beef shank and pork leg. Every once in a while I will have a coffee boba tea. Update: Reunited my taste buds with the restaurant that popped my pho-king cherry. I got the #4 but was contemplating on the C5 which is lemongrass marinated meat(your choice) over rice with sides. My mind wanted to variate but everything else said "You came for the Pho Fool, ya fool!"(8-tails joke). Got the large size of heavenly goodness and on my first bite of noodles, steak, bean sprout, and jalapeno drenched in lime flavored broth, I remembered why it is the BEST PHO I'VE EVER HAD! The broth has a unique slight nutty sweetness that other pho places I've been to haven't duplicated. The beef was very tender, cooked to perfection and never chewy or tough. If i could give this place zero stars, I would. The entire staff sat and did absolutely nothing, didn't come check on us once but to take our order (which they got wrong). My friend ordered off the vegan menu and was served meat, and of course, since they did not return to check, we were unable to get it sorted to something they could have. We ordered waters, never got them, and since no one ever looked over at us again, we were unable to get drinks. The pho itself was good for me, though i was missing the other half of what i ordered. This place has a terrible smell of a new york subway, and is filthy. I'm so disappointed, as me and my family used to love coming here when I was younger, but this experience has been absolutely awful. The biggest takeaway is: don't waste your time at this location, you're better off driving several miles to the location in chesapeake with friendly attentive staff, and people who will not mess up your order (or let you go without drinks). read more

Not sure what changed here but the Pho is not very good now. The broth is too dark and overly sweet and not served very hot. The prices have gone up like every other place. The inside, while clean smells bad. It smells like a dirty mop that needs thrown out with a faint bathroom stench. The people that work there or the owners kinda lay around and probably do not know how bad it smells in the seating area. The guys that take your order and bring out the food are nice. Service leaves a lot to be desired. This is possibly the worst pho79 I've visited in Hampton Roads in both quality and service. I ordered the #9 pho (steak, brisket, flank, tendon and tripe) without noodles and a side of vegetables (carrots, mushrooms, tofu, etc) to put in it. I get this at every other pho location in the area and it's not an issue but for some reason it was an issue here. The older gentleman gave me an attitude about order pho without noodles. I brushed it off and waited for my soup to arrive. It arrived without the other item I ordered. Drink was not refilled during my stay. The pho itself was okay but it was missing the tendon completely. The table in front of me received their food and it was wrong and had to be sent back, much to the worker's annoyance. Pho 79 is a great lunch spot. Not far from Towncenter. I have been several times. The food is great and I love to order the boba tea. They have coffee boba drink but it's not on the menu. This is my go-to restaurant for delivered Vietnamese. The Vietnamese Spring Rolls are wonderful with the peanut sauce. The vermicelli with grilled pork and the rice with grilled pork are both excellent. Great char on the meat. Both include fresh tomato and cucumber along with garlic fish sauce. read more

This is my favorite spot for pho. They have excellent customer service. They don't do temp checks though. Food is always served fresh and hot . I love it here. The music is always on point. My favorite thing to eat is combo pho with a bahn Minh. It's endless here. They also serve fresh made bubble drinks and it's so good. I would definitely recommend this spot to everyone. They even have a play ground outside for kids who can't sit still and wait for their meal. This place is also easy to find they have a big sign so you can miss it. This place is amazing. Make sure you come here on an empty stomach because there is a lot of food and it is delicious!!! When you order, the food comes out QUICK. there's no long wait and the people who work there are very fast at serving. They are also very personable and want to make sure that you are happy. We always try to switch out the type of food we get, however I always get the Pho with well done brisket. Their spring rolls are great and come with I believe 6 of them for appetizers. This place is pretty efficient with the time on the food. I went with a friend and we ordered the pho ga, it was really good! Portions are definitely worth your money, we could only finish half of ours and stored the other half another time (we ordered separately). The service was good, no problems. I'm not a big soup/noodle fan, but this took it to another level. Enjoyed this restaurant on a Friday night, with a hunger rating of a mild 7 out of 10. The location is small and not well lit, but was easy to access and had ample parking. We were seated right away, and orders were taken quickly as well. Being big pho eaters, it didn't take long for us to look over the menu and know what we want, the typical fresh spring rolls, and round steak and flank for me with brisket every now and then, large. The wait was rather long for pho, most restaurants in Cali get it out really fast compared to the East Coast. The spring rolls were fresh, and lacked bean sprouts and fresh mint leaves. Although I could care less for the mint sometimes, the lack of sprouts was a bit concerning. Nonetheless, the shrimp was rather, fishy, for a lack of a better term. Normally you can taste cook shrimp, but it had a bit of an after flavor that I didn't like. Either way, the freshness of the ingredients over shadowed the after taste. On to the main course. The pho was on point, broth was good, meat was perfect. Couldn't ask for a better meal. I may have been easily satisfied because I have been craving this for a few weeks, but the meat tasted fresh, not like the beef I had the last time at a different restaurant in Woodbridge. I got thick glass noodle soup called Banh Canh Tom Thit with pork and shrimp. The broth was bland. The pork was warmed up and old-dark colored. Shrimps were okay. The soup was served not very hot so the bean sprouts remained raw after I added them. Soup was about 10 dollars. For the price paid I expect better quality. Service was passing but not friendly. Pho Dac Biet Noodle soup with steak, brisket, flank, tendon and tripe but he went without the tripe but the tendon was very soft not really tender at all. I ate it and yea its not the one i am used to. The chili paste was very dry when i ask for it. There seem to be some missing things in there but i forgot what it was. The refilling of water is as usual slow or not come to give refill. Last time i was here in 2017 it was the same refilling of water was not giving as it took forever but still did not come. My pho bo vien because last time i ate rice as I usually do not eat hot soup when i am out on a hot day. Pho?!?!?! I had no clue that Pho was actually delicious, after an AWFUL experience at a different location. After reading the previous reviews I decided to give it a go and return to a new location, this one, to see if maybe I'll enjoy it and boy am I glad that I did! It most definitely did not disappoint. My husband ordered the number 2 which was super delicious and I ordered the number 4 . He also ordered spring rolls. The spring rolls were really good and the dipping peanut sauce was also delicious. Everything looks exactly as it does on the menu when it arrives to your table which is very impressive. It didn't take long for our Pho to come out. However, they forgot about our order of spring rolls and as a result we didn't get those until the end of our meal. Which is why I'm docking this review a star. The staff was very polite and came back around to ask if we needed any more toppings and made sure our water was full and such. They were all very polite and quick. This restaurant really is a hidden gem. It's great for large parties of people, just a date or if you want to go by yourself. So, this was my first time trying Boba and it was delicious and the staff did a great job explaining which one was the best and what it is. I've been coming here for years. I ordered the large Pho chicken with rice noodles. Extra basil, lime, and bean sprouts. I also like extra onion in there for flavor. Had the rice wrapped steamed roll with cabbage, pork, shrimp, and carrots. It's fantastic with their peanut sauce. I just wish the broth had more flavor though. I can make a better broth. Great Pho place....had several locations but this one is our go to spot. They are fairly busy but not too bad; Service is great. This visit we started off with their spring rolls as an appetizer which is always fresh and delish. Dave ordered the Beef pho #7. They were very generous in their steak and brisket portion for this noodle soup. I never heard of "meat sweats" lol but according to Dave he was borderline there after this visit...not that he was complaining. I love the broth and the cilantro adds such great flavor. I could literally just drink the broth.... We also ordered their rice dish: C2. This came with pork, chicken and beef. I'm in disbelief at what a horrible experience I had. After prompt service upon entering, please keep in mind that I'm wearing a brace due to a preexisting injury. I have been checked on once and that's when I was brought my broth. Knowing I wanted to have some halo halo for desert, I proceeded to wait for literally 45 minutes till someone finally comes up to me. I am then told that the customer has to go up to the counter if they want something. After nearly 20 years wanting to try it, tonight we finally did. My wife and older son got the large #4 each. I had the large N6, 'Bun Bo Hue' (see photo). Kiddos got beef noodle soup. We split an order of lemongrass chicken kabobs over rice. All bowls of soup at table were consumed. Nothing left. We all deemed it tasty and good portions. The grilled chicken kabobs were great and my son said best he ever had. My Thai tea iced Boba was good, as was the lychee boba. Overall a good experience and we will go back. Why not 5 stars? So my friend and I got take out from Pho. Basically, you get a plastic container with broth and a styrofoam container with meat, noodles all stuck together, and some weird vegetables. That's right, they didn't even make the soup - they give you the ingredients and you put it together yourself. If I wanted to do that, I could have gone to Whole Foods Market, bought the ingredients off the shelf, and made my own soup. Maybe someone didn't bother to tell these people that we are paying for them to actually make the soup and sell it to us, not to give us the ingredients so we make our own. That said, the ingredients weren't even that good. The broth tasted really weird, the meat was kind of cold, and some bean sprouts that I had no idea what to do with. Fast service, hot pho, delicious skewers and great báhn mì! Came here today with my boyfriend for a quick lunch around 120pm, and we were served and out by 210pm. I ordered the classic pho with meat balls and flank steak. My boyfriend ordered the báhn mì with the lemongrass chicken. We started with the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. It's always delicious and filled with noodles and shrimp. The pho was fantastic. Not too salty, and it's a great base to add in mint, lime, siracha, hoisin sauce, and whatever you like. The báhn mì was delicious! It had a little too much cilantro for my tastes, but it was filling and fresh. The service was lacking. We were clearly ready to order, menus closed, and it took a bit to get someone to come take orders.
