I love the food at Vietnam Garden. Whenever I'm in town, this is my go-to for delicious food. My favorites are the spring rolls and grilled chicken and lemongrass broken rice platter (#44). The spring rolls are always crispy and delicious. On a whim, I tried the grilled beef rice vermicelli noodle salad (#38). The medley of textures compliments the perfectly cooked strips of beef. Pouring the accompanying Vietnamese dressing over the dish added to the experience. I normally order my food and take it home. Today, they have me extra lettuce on the side for my salad. Thanks to Yelpers out there for another great find. So many mediocre noodle places have popped up in recent years that it's extra pleasing to discover a place that serves truly authentic dishes. The pho broth was one of the best I've had in a very long time, obviously simmered a long time with just the right balance of flavors. When I mentioned that I liked a higher spice level, instead of giving me sriracha (which changes the flavor), they provided some minced peppers which worked perfectly. Wife had a dry noodle dish with shrimp and was very happy with its flavor as well. Spring rolls were excellent as well. Definitely a place to return to! read more

Fabulous service from quick seating to a server showing up just when we made up our minds. Hubby chose the beef round eye size large made spicy while I just asked for shrimps with noodles made medium spicy. We shared spring rolls which were stuffed full. My guess is that this Vietnamese restaurant is not as well known as the other establishments around the area. It should be though! It's tucked away in the corner of a strip mall on Virginia Beach Blvd. It is truly a hidden gem in my opinion. The interior is not very big and it only holds a few tables but it still has a welcoming feel. We came right at dinner time and was seated right away. It was nearly empty at first but it began filling up with customers. We ordered the classic pho bowls with Vietnamese pancakes and spring rolls. There was a slight wait as there was a large group getting their food before us but it was no problem at all. The pancakes came out hot and crispy with a savory sauce. The spring rolls were a hit as well. The pho broth was delicious and the large bowl is indeed large! Their prices were lower than other restaurants but does not skimp on flavor and portion. I don't know when this restraunt opened but atleast 30 years. We have had countless wonderful meals here. My dad liked this place so we would go all the time. When my dad passed away about 15 years ago we just stopped going. During the Pandemic we thought they may need the business so we tried them twice. The were not open due to scheduling problems. THey are a small business . Use to be owned by a mom and pop. The vietnamese mom cooked all the food and the family worked the rest. We have finally been back to where they were open. It seemed the same but a little different. I did not feel comfortable asked if the mom and pop where still around. Maybe after a while of being back I will ask. Anyways. The sesame pancakes are my favorite. Start with that. Then what we did in the very beginning just to learn Vietnamese food was we just worked our way through the menu. Small, family run business, this has been our go-to Vietnamese restaurant for years. We had family in town and they were in the mood for Vietnamese after a long day at the beach. My niece, who is pescatarian, raved about the seafood pho, and declared it the best she had had in years. Similarly my sister and brother also loved their pho. I had a noodle salad. The greens were very fresh. We had ordered the garden rolls without the pork, and they were very accommodating. As always the service was friendly. Stopped by this restaurant once I came home from Arizona. We have never been here before but decided to check it out. We could smell the food outside the restaurant haha... Glad we did check it out! We visited Vietnam Garden because we had hosted Jolie on her visit to the DC area. Jolie's mother runs the restaurant and we were so well taken care of. The food was wonderful - the spring rolls, the noodles, the tofu with mixed vegetables, the salad. I loved the idea of serving lettuce with crispy spring rolls and I wrapped the spring roll in a lettuce leaf and the resulting textural taste was superb. This is how I will always have crispy spring rolls in the future. If you are a vegetarian don't worry - the vegetarian quality is very good and I know since I am a vegetarian. And the hospitality was amazing. The food feels very healthy and no added preservatives or fats - so just like home cooked food. The bathroom was amazingly clean and to me when a bathroom is so clean it means the restaurant takes cleanliness very seriously and not just for show. Finally at the end giving us sesame bars instead of the usual fortune cookie is a gem. The fortune cookie I usually never eat because it is unhealthy, but I loved the sesame bar. This really is a gem of Virginia Beach that is one of the best places to get lunch or dinner there when you are at the beach. read more

This is my husbands go to place for Pho. He's been to Vietnam and had the pho there, and while not quite the same he thinks it is really good. I had an excellent experience at Vietnam Garden today for late lunch. It looks small from the outside but the inside is beautifully designed and quite clean. I felt like I was in a fancier place than leaving full for $16 The parking lot has been replaced, so there aren't the awful potholes everywhere. It looks much cleaned up here. And I guess the sports bar next door isn't as busy in the daylight. I ordered the crispy crab rolls, which were definitely crispy. They came out too hot to eat but after they cooled a bit were nice. Not too crab tasting, but definite sea flavor which was nice. The roll was pretty big too. I tried the grilled chicken vermicelli too. It was wonderful! The chicken was delicious by itself and was presented cut up on a bed of lettuce and bean sprouts with basil and cilantro on top. It was the best I have had in some time. My only issue was the iced coffee took the longest to come out, because they had to make it fresh. It was just fine coming late. read more

My wife and I used to go here at least 2-3 times a week decades ago. We always drove by it and never thought about going back just because it was way out of our way. We decided to go tonight with the family. So impressed with the atmosphere and customer service. The main waitress even remembered us from a long time ago! Goi Cuon were also very large compared to other places and the fried egg rolls were by far one of my favorites. The pho my son and wife ordered was perfect, broth was super hot!
