Pho 75 is still going strong on the Pike. We recently stopped in for a hot bowl of pho on a (literally) freezing night. My usual is a large bowl with tai (eye of round) and chin (flank steak), a.k.a. "Number 12". And when it arrives, I throw in all the jalapenos and bean sprouts I can get. This is winter comfort food at its best. Recent experiences at Pho 75 have been consistent, which in my Pho book is notable! I've generally gotten either the p1 or p2, and the broth tastes solid and tasty. I feel there was a decent amount of protein to broth to noodle ratio. Not overly so but nothing to complain about. I sampled the chicken broth from other people in my party and felt it was good and not too overly sweet, which I feel can happen to chicken pho broth. THEY ONLY HAVE PHO. So don't be surprised when you come here and see only pho on the menu! The service is swift and to the point, which can be very nice especially if you need to get it, eat your meal, pay, and be on your merry way. After you finish your meal, head to the register and let them know what number table you were at and they will ring you up. Still cash only. Definitely check their hours before you go- wish they had longer evening hours. If you are looking for a consistent pho experience, keep this place in mind. Pho 75 is an institution in the DMV. I've had the pleasure of growing up eating here and the pho is still top notch. My family and I always get the large pho and they come out piping hot, full of meat/noodles, and that delicious pho flavor. The noodles are cooked perfectly and bean sprouts/basil are always fresh. I used to love this place but have been disappointed by the service and quality of the restaurant. They've seem to renovate the place, painting the interior blue and returning to some pre-covid things (i specify below). Had three different interactions with the staff that left a bad taste in my mouth. They're quite rude to their guests and have little patience. Some staff show visible frustration at customers when they don't get what they're trying to say. It's really upsetting seeing how the staff belittle loyal customers. Just because of the service alone I'd go to another place. Some positives that keep me from giving them a one star for service are the changes they have made to their restaurant. Before the broth was very watered down, now it seems to have returned to how it was in the past. They've also returned their regular utensils and no longer use plastic spoons, dixie plates, and wooden chopsticks for their sit-in dining. Also now use gloves to distribute soups, yay. read more

It's been over a decade since I've been to Pho 75. They still only take cash, but now offer two appetizers (Spring and Summer rolls). Service is still fast and decent. Got seated right away even at the peak of the lunch hour. Order a #9, which came with well-done brisket, flank, and skirt steak. Broth was light and had good flavor to it. My bowl came with a good amount of beef, which were sliced thin and had no fat. Toppings (bean sprouts, jalapeños, and a slice of lime) came on a small Dixie plate. Washed down my pho with a Thai iced tea, which was sweeter than I'm used to. Not sure I'd order this one again. Luckily it came with a glass of water, which again was in a Dixie cup. The pho here is very good and tasty, and so is the Vietnamese coffee. I had the Number 1 pho on the menu (Tai, Nam, Gau, Gan, Sach ... slices of eye-round steak, well-done flank, fat brisket, soft tendon, and beef tripe). I also had the Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk. Just for your information, they take cash only, which I think gives this place a very nice and unique charm. The only downside is that the hot Vietnamese coffee came in a plastic cup, and I do not think it is even good to have hot drinks in a plastic cup. The two locations I went to in Virginia used real, regular, reusable tea cups to put the coffee in. Otherwise, all else was good. I haven't reviewed Pho 75 yet??? Okay well most times I come back to the MoCo area, I try to stop by Pho 75 because they have some of the best pho I have ever had, full stop. I've been coming here for a long time and they don't miss, the broth is really noticeably different from other spots and noticeably better. Parking can be tough in this small strip mall right off 355 but it's worth it when you finally find a spot. I often see people sitting alone just enjoying their pho, not even looking at their phones because they are just present with their noodles, and honestly, I get it. Service here is always very fast because the menu is pretty straightforward: several combinations of beef (or chicken or seafood), a few appetizers, some beverages. I know there was a Sriracha shortage recently but I believe Huy Fong is working with their new suppliers now because during my last visit Pho 75 had big full bottles on every table, the flex. They are CASH ONLY please don't let your heart be broken by this, it's worth it I promise. Enjoy your pho, go up to the cashier, and everything is sorted very painlessly. This is our gold standard for pho, only withholding a star because I'm confused by the continued use of small disposable soup spoons...? Just not big enough for us to slurp up as much pho as we want, you know? And sometimes it's not consistent, either the broth is a little too rich/greasy or I get just one measly piece of delicious soft tendon to hold me over the whole bowl, but it's still the ruler to which we compare all other pho. read more

The tables are long so there might be some sharing with other tables. If you're okay with that, then you have no problem enjoying this place. A great bowl of pho for a good price. I went here with family on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. We speak Vietnamese so communication was easier, but even so, they are a little sassy and/or rude lol. The pho came out pretty quickly. The table had all of the different broths, beef, chicken, and vegetable. I enjoyed my chicken pho and drank up all the soup haha. I also tried a sip of the vegetable broth and it was good! My partner said it was in the top two of best vegetable pho broth he's tried. Went back here to eat with friends who I used to eat with here since 2002. We had not seen each other in years so this was supposed to be a very nostalgic spot for us. One of us flew in from a different country to spend time with family. Another person in the group drove an hour. I also drove almost an hour so we could all meet and eat at our "used to be" favorite pho spot from childhood. The pho now tastes a bit watered down, and the service is a bit rude like all the newer reviews are stating. There was too much going on at our table and the man handing out the soup was putting bowls down quickly, without making sure which one belonged to who first. I had to ask him what number one of the bowls was, and he said this exactly word for word, "I said number 4 and you didn't listen!" If my friend hadn't already gone up and paid sneakily, I would have given 0 tip. Also, I'm never coming back unless that rude old man is fired. Serving tables is not for him. read more

Why tip? It was 6:20pm (10minutes before close) and the server tried to take away my daughter's small bowl of pho. Literally he tried taking food away from a 3 year old. And then yelled saying "we are closed". The restaurant was full and there were still people that just sat down getting their food. It's the bald server with a hearing aide that yelled at us. I was here again recently and unfortunately the atmosphere has changed quite a bit. We were spoken to very abruptly upon coming into the restaurant and commanded to sit at a table (usually we have been given the option to sit where we'd like when it is not busy--it was not busy today). Our order was taken neutrally by our server but the person who brought our food was unpleasant and very rude when I asked about the egg rolls (which usually arrives before our pho--it did not today). The beef in the pho was not good at all, but tougher than usual, and I did not eat the egg rolls after they did finally arrive. I had lost my appetite by then from the combination of unwelcoming, indifferent, and negative attitudes and it did not help that the restaurant setting is rather stark and chilly; generally I am not bothered by decor that is not exactly charming but when service is to this level of unacceptable--treating customers as if they were an inconvenience--then a depressing environment only adds to an already terrible dining experience. It is also not in this restaurant's favor that it is still cash only. The high prices do not match a cash only venue much less the poor service, inconsistent food quality, and unwelcoming atmosphere. Our meal was a little over $29 for one small and one large pho, egg rolls (which we did not eat) and hot tea. Charging for hot tea was the last straw . When I paid at the counter (which many do rather than call one of the staff to bring the check), the cashier spoke in a combative tone when I asked about the charges--no bill was presented or offered while I was there at the counter, just an amount told to me. This used to be my favorite childhood pho place and even after I moved to VA, I'd come here for pho when visiting my family in MD Objectively, this place deserves zero star unless they make changes; they really shouldn't sell. All of our family ordered small number 5 Pho, which includes soft tendon, but none of my family got a single cut of soft tendon. The soup was so greasy that it was almost yellow and I couldn't see the noodles below, and 40% of beef cuts were all dried up fat, that I literally had to pick them out. Also, I understand that some places use plastic utensils, but here, everything except the pho bowl is plastic that I feel like I'm sitting in a rented space with takeout food. Their water also tastes way to metallic. Service was also slow. Lastly.. I did hear that there is national shortage of Sriracha... but here they just have a bottle of hot sauce. This is probably the worst pho experience I've had, and if they want to continue on with the success of the previous owner, they seriously need to rethink how their business is going to survive. read more

If you're looking for the best Pho spot in the Gburg/Rockville area.... LOOK NO FURTHER!!! As an Asian American raised by parents whom were born and raised in Southeast Asia, this is the place my parents used to take us growing up... and that's all you need to know because I trust that my parents know GOOD authentic pho. The broth here is phenomenal and delicious. You will not be disappointed. I do have to say though that you are coming here for the food, not the experience. Once you arrive, the ambiance of this place is very old school oriental. They have the same artwork on the walls from when I came here growing up, they have surely faded. Nothing spectacular or very nice about the restaurant aesthetic. But I'm here for the food not the atmosphere! So this is not something to deter me from continuing to eat here. The place is still clean and tidy. They started using disposable utensils, cups, and plates to serve with (the pho bowls are reusable though). Maybe to cut down on water use, time, and having to hire a dishwasher? This kind of upsets me because I am very environmentally cautious, and I see this as wasteful business behavior, BUT like I keep saying, they have the best pho, and you will not be disappointed. As far as service, the pho always seems to come out timely, I usually do not have to wait too long. I usually always order spring rolls and summer rolls as well; both are absolutely delicious and exactly what I want and expect from those dishes.
