The BEST Vietnamese food in town ! Great service and amazing vermicelli . The spring rolls and peanut sauce is the BEST.

First time here and wasnt greeted at all. We grabbed a seat and was given menus. The waiter was stand offish maybe because of the language barrier not sure but it was a lil awkward being that she stood about 3 feet away to take our order. We had ordered the Pho chicken and the Pho special with some fried shrimp. Overall the food was good but the service sucked all around. The waiters stayed behind the register. Myself along with other people had to get up and ask for water and ask for appetizer dishes to be removed. We wont be back solely on service..

This is my first time here and I didnt have any real issues with staff. The only problem I had is their water is not filtered and taste very much like tap water. With that said, their broth is amazing! I took one good sip of it and I was hooked, I cleaned my bowl and wanted to get seconds. I give it a 5 out of 5.

Never got our drinks refilled at all even after asking!!

Poor tasting Pho, service is that of what you expect in a prison. Unsure why people still come here, other than all the other places are closed, that is what lead me to the location. Female server wearing the same Tommy shirt that she was wearing last visit, she refused to even approach our table and stood next to fish aquarium while we order (approx 3 booths away). Never again!

Food was great. Service a bit cool. We started with spring rolls and egg rolls. The spring rolls and peanut dip were some of the best i've had. The egg rolls might be the best I've had. Good start for a first visit. I had the special Pho, and my daughter the chicken. Glad I ordered a small. I was full. The Pho was really good. Top notch. Service was however lacking. I never was asked, nor received refill on my ice tea. I saw two other different people get up, go to the counter to get service. That is most likely why they were only a little full, or mostly empty. Certainly not because of the food. Easy to get to, nice place, great food, crappy service. You fix the service issue and it would be 5 stars for sure.

There were no Pho places here when we moved to Humble in 1999. Now we have three that we frequent! This one was the first in Humble. We were regulars until the other one opened near Kroger. Not sure if they are still closed on Sundays, but that's what killed this place for me. I work M-F and can only eat here on Sat and Sun. Anyway, if you work in the area, please check this place out for lunch!! Why pat $6 for a combo of fast food when you can have Vietnamese food?!?!? I like the TV's they have in every corner! I don't eat Pho(hot soup), I always get the rice or rice noodle with pork or chicken. Yum!!

I'd give 3.5 stars for their pho but considering that the location being far away from where most Viet and other Asians live, I went ahead and bumped em to 4 stars. Their soup was pretty decent so far when compared to other places around Houston. Their noodles are pretty decent too. I was happy that their dac biet included tripe. I've been to some places that don't which is sad. I will definitely be coming back to have pho here and to try other dishes. My one big request would be to please also serve ngo gai with their pho. I didn't ask so maybe they do and just only give on request. For SoCal, its the norm and definitely my favorite veggie in pho.

My usual grilled pork with vermicelli and egg roll order was only $7 and came back with generous amounts of meat!

Enjoyed my meal to go. Service was somewhat slow. Ambiance mediocre, cluttered and overly decorated grandmaish decor.

For the latter, it's gotten to a point where no other Vietnamese spot has come close. For pho seekers who happen to be in Humble, Pho Dien 1960 is an absolute must. The place is small, but they've stacked their small dining room into a very group friendly setup consisting of small booths and tables. The stale air quality is reminiscent of old school spots around town and the young Viet guys running the joint keep the place friendly and efficient. In terms of the pho, there are no complaints. The broth skews somewhat sweet, but it's aromatic enough for me to normally slurp it completely dry. Their best asset has been the meat, which is excellent. Their combination dac biet is an excellent variety that includes meatball, tripe, flank, and some of the best rare steak and tendon I've had. The latter is buttery and smooth enough to where I can't get enough. I tend to order it in their XL (xe lua) size, which is an off-menu item that goes for nearly $20 ($19.45) and is one of the largest bowls I've seen. I always look forward to getting it. While their banh mi and bun dishes are not nearly the same caliber, they still pass the test as a quality offering. The cha gio is a bit paltry, without any greens and a small bowl of semi-spicy nuoc mam (fish sauce). Their Vietnamese coffee is chocolate-y, and perfect for to-go. Their weekday lunch combo special is a good deal, in which one can come in for a small or medium sized pho and get an order of two cha gio or goi cuon with an iced tea. Parking is really easy on the weekends, especially since most of the businesses in the strip mall are closed. It may feel a tad more expensive ($12-18 per most entrees) but this is the price one pays in suburbia without having to head to any of the enclaves.

But drinks, spring rolls, banh mi, vermicelli/rice plates are also their jam. Definitely on the pricier side for Vietnamese food and not truly authentic (but guess it's pretty far from Alief / Bellaire here), but I enjoyed the flavors anyways! ** 5 spice tofu vermicelli: this beautiful plate came with big fluffy pieces of tofu that were nicely fried, but the tofu itself had only a hint of the 5 spice flavor. It came with a very sweet, light fish sauce (?) that amped up the flavor, and there are sriracha and hoisin sauces on each table if needed. The medley of carrots, cabbage, and cilantro added some crunch and color. It wasn't oily or overly filling, and I'm happy I tried it :) ** BBQ pork banh mi: solid banh mi with some pickled veggies inside. Take out the jalepeno if you don't like spicy! The pork is a little on the fattier side. We added a fried egg as suggested by the staff (man, eggs are expensive right now!), and it was a little overcooked since we usually like the slightly runny yolk for banh mi. The bread wasn't overly crispy that it poked the roof of your mouth. ** Shrimp tempura: more of a fried shrimp than the Japanese tempura style, but still tasty! These came piping hot with pickled carrots too. Doesn't taste very "shrimpy," which may be good depending on who you ask. It's a clean and sort of fun, airy atmosphere. You order at the cashier first and the water, utensils, boxes, etc are self-serve. The staff were friendly. Definitely bring a jacket-- they had fans circulating cold air and it was chilly! Would return for their lunch offerings if in the area and to try the drinks and bubble waffles :D
