I also noticed cream cheese rangoons on the menu--one of my favorites--so we ordered those along with the teriyaki tofu & vegetables (without rice) and the yellow curry with tofu. The rangoons were the biggest disappointment: there were six total, but only three actually had cream cheese filling. The other three were basically empty fried shells. The teriyaki tofu plate tasted fine, but without the rice it didn't feel like much food, especially when sharing among three people. As for the yellow curry, it was okay--definitely on the sweeter side, which some people might like, but it makes the dish feel pretty heavy. My sister wasn't able to order the pho because they only make it with chicken broth, so she ended up sharing our dishes instead. For around $37 total, the price wasn't terrible split between three people, but overall the experience just wasn't great. Kind service, but the food quality and options didn't really win us over. Not a place we're likely to rush back to.

It was challenging to get down. But again, I'm a professional, so don't worry, it happened. Next time I would love to try some of the many Chinese dishes, which make up most of the menu. It's banh mi, pho and a bunch of typical chinese food. It's close by enough that I know we will definitely be giving it a shot in the near future.

One thing that really stood out to me was the difference between the regular and large combination pho. The large bowl has significantly more broth, but it looks like it has pretty much the same amount of meat as the regular bowl. If you're ordering the large because you want more meat and ingredients, you may be disappointed. I don't mind paying a little more when the quality and portions justify it, but at the current prices, I would expect the amount of meat to be more generous. The flavors are still really good, but for the price, the value just isn't what it used to be.

But, most times the noodles are overcooked and stuck together, they're skimpy with the herbs, and the veggies aren't very fresh... The egg rolls have become very puny and the spring rolls don't have much filling either. Still our go-to for convenience, but we are on the lookout for a better option in the area.

From there, to my utter disbelief and complete pleasure, the service ONLY GOT BETTER! I am making sure to capitalize certain parts for emphasis because words truly do not do justice for the quality of service provided by Xavier! They checked in on us the perfect amount of times and at the absolute perfect times, they refilled our drinks before we even had to ask, they checked to make sure we had everything we needed, they checked to see how we were enjoying everything and asked if there was anything they could do for us, they asked the whole room if the TV volume was too loud or too quiet or just right and adjusted accordingly (it was a tad too quiet, so their asking and adjusting took our whole experience to a completely higher level), and when we were finished they came and asked us if we needed anything "to go" containers which we did, they even gave us a bag and also threw in a set of utensils each for us, some napkins, and a couple of each of their sauce packets to ensure we could enjoy the same tastes that we did while we were there!! Excellent service and consistent flavorful fresh food. We can see them making wonderful dishes through a visible glass enclosure. We all wish for an outdoor dining area- - we tend to choose restaurants with covered patios and we love to sit outside, so we do not choose Mimi Garden as often as we might, if they had a nice patio!!
