So we tried to go to Corner Noodle in Syracuse (one of our favorites) the menu item I was after was the chicken Vietnamese soup. Once we arrived, there was a sign on their door saying they were closed, so I settled for subpar soup earlier. When I'm sick, chicken pho is the best medicine. So I had to find some. This place is really highly rated, but I wasnt overly impressed. The service was really good the guy at the register explained the menu, and was really nice. I got the egg rolls and pho special (spicy). Egg rolls were pretty good, well cooked and had pretty good flavor, but they were a little small. Pho was a little underwhelming. There werent a lot of noodles, and came with cabbage on the side, not bean sprouts. The soup broth had some good flavor to it, and the meats were good, minus a chunk of grizzle. It was really hot temp wise, which is a huge plus, but again, I wasnt overly impressed, and left a little hungry. If u like a lot of noodles like i do, def recommned getting a double order, but then for the price point, its so so. Best sandwich out there the lemongrass pork sandwich is seriously so good. They are pretty quick to make your food and very friendly. Plenty of room to sit down and eat or just take it home. read more

The Banh-mi sandwiches at Phô Banh (called Hot Banh on the road sign) are a touch pricey for what you get compared to Vietnamese banh in cities with a larger Asian populace. But the flavors were quite good. We tried three styles (Korean BBQ Beef [not seared nor flavored well enough], Pork Lemongrass and Pineapple Chicken). Next time I'll have them hold the sliced jalapeños and just stick with the house chili sauce. I think that delivers more flavor for the spiciness. I also like banh served on steamed buns (bahn-bao) better, but that's not an option here. They boast that they use real fruit and not powdered mix for the $5 boba drinks--but they serve them without mixing in tea. And warm, small serving of boba pearls inside. Weird. And when we asked for just a coconut boba they told us they are only serve coconut with taro. If they're not using pre-mix then why can't they make a coconut boba?! Either way, the pink piña colada boba drinks were liked by my wife and son. The other two mango bobas must have been using underripe fruit because they were not very mango-ey in flavor. Either way, they all helped cool down the spicy sandwiches. Yet for a Sunday lunch the place was busy in an otherwise ghost town of a strip mall area--that speaks to this being a worthwhile visit. read more

Small business but the food is outstanding. Ordered the P5 and P4 pho as well as the garlic butter beef salad bowl. Everything was delicious. Also had the avocado/tofu spring rolls - didn't have much flavor but I got what I asked for - and the peanut sauce is all you need. The man at the register was also very polite and professional. I was visiting family and saw the sign from off the highway. I love trying asian comfort foods in different cities. They also had great Yelp reviews so I decided to givr them a try. I wanted to try their Banh Mi Dac Biet, but they called it Banh Mi Traditional, same thing I suppose. But the sandwich was hearty and delicious! It was very meaty and the bread was soft. The presentation of the condiments was extremely neat in the sandwich. I had to write about it because I have never seen a banh mi this neat looking. My only gripe was it was pricier than what I am use to. I'm from Vegas and they range from $4-$5. But I'm guessing there isn't much competition out here. Will come again in the future! read more

But sadly these sandwiches didn't hit the spot The customer service is very great though, they reached out to us about their food and service. Big foodie here. Okay, where do I start off? How about that I'm addicted to this place! Ha. Sometimes I have it 3-4 times a week. Here are somethings that I love about it: The korean beef and garlic sandwhich is my favorite go to sandwhich. The bun is perfect, not too soft or hard, it has a splendid sauce, along with fresh veggies and hearty meat. The pho is delightful. It is hands down the best pho you can find in the area! I was so ecstatic to finally come across a decent pho shop in Layton, where customer service is friendly and accommodating! If you have any questions, they are always willing to answer them. You can tell that the owner takes great pride in the restaurant. A quick note: It is a self serve restaurant, but it is awesome, because you just pay up front and then wait for your yummy dishes to arrive at your seat. The variety of boba's are excellent. I won't go elsewhere for it. It is evident in flavor that they don't use the imitation powder and go with fresh fruit. My favorites are ALL OF THEM! Ha. If you enjoy coffee, then try their iced cold Vietnamese coffee. It is strong and refreshing. Lastly, if you happen to stop by on a Monday or Tuesday, I recommend you try their hot and spicy noodle soup. They just opened it up on the menu for winter time. Pho was bland. Bahn mi was pretty good. Boba smoothie not worth the price. No social distancing at all. Very crowded and tables close together. This is self serve and spoons and forks were not individually wrapped and available for everyone to grab. Bottles of hot sauce were also available for everyone to reuse and touch. No hand sanitizer. I think that if a restaurant is going to be dine in then they should at least follow some precautions I have been out to numerous other restaurants during this pandemic and this is by far the worst as far as COVID precautions go. I've only had the Banh Mi's here but I've had them several times and they're so amazing! I can't get over how a sandwich can be so good. The bread in incredible - so soft on the inside and so delicate and crispy on the very outside that it just sheds big flakes. I've had pork, beef, and tofu and the tofu is my go-to now. Even people who don't usually like tofu will like in the Banh Mi's here. Prices are good too and it has a really relaxed, cool looking environment. read more

Came by for lunch the other day and tried the rare beef and brisket pho, and the lemongrass pork banh mi. As banh mi goes, the ratio of bread to meat to veggies was spot on. Unfortunately, the sandwich was overall a bit dry- perhaps the bread could have been a tad fresher, or the meat a tad more tender, but my guess is some sort of condiment would have helped. The pho, however, was quite good. The broth is different from what I normally like, but very tasty without being too salty. This place looks like a typical college food shop, and it's absolutely delicious. These guys has some of the best Pho broth I've ever tasted. It's on the sweeter side, so I recommend not over stuffing your bowl with bean sprouts, and adding a little Siracha for spice, and it's perfect. My husband has never taken his bowl and gulped down pho broth before, and he could not stop telling me how good the broth was. Also, we got the rare steak "Pho Tai" and it was THE BEST pho meat I have ever had. So so tasty. The only down side to me is that they don't have fresh spring rolls. That is something I look for with my pho, but we will definitely be going here again for our pho fix! read more

This place has the best Pho I have ever had. The broth is incredible. Shrimp and Beef are awesome. Dumplings are great. The Sandwiches are awesome. The only thing I would change are the following: They do not deliver through Door Dash...big miss. Secondly, they are a bit more pricey than most Pho places which is fine, but they have signs up explaining how they have to raise prices because of the cost of food. In addition, they have signs up saying that they would like you to buss your own table after you eat to help them keep the prices down. You have to take your bowl and plate to a gross container, but before you put it in there, they want you dump out the food in the trash. In addition, the owner frequently complains about the challenge of hiring staff. All that said, they are definitely worth it...just incredible flavor. Hopefully they will take the tacky signs down and just continue to provide great food. read more

There's not a ton of curb appeal to this place, but none is needed. You walk up to the counter and place your order, then take a seat and wait for the goodies to arrive. This place is quickly becoming a favorite for me! The soups are full of flavor and the meat is very tender. The sandwiches are so good! Just the right size, and the bread is awesome! Soft and flaky and oh so tasty! I love the Korean beef sandwich, though it's time for me to start trying others, as I'm sure they are all outstanding. The service is fast and very friendly. They are happy to explain the menu to you and answer any questions. As we were leaving they came out and asked if we would like our leftovers (soup containers) wrapped up so they wouldn't leak in our car. Great service! And you WILL have leftovers! Huge portions. I think the food here is pretty decent. I've been here a few times. Got their pho and banh mi. Reasons why I took off two stars is because I feel: 1. It's not always consistent. Some days the beef in the pho is super soft and some days it's tough and chewy. The flavor of the soup is still good though. 2. Disappointed in their so called "bun bo hue." It should just be called spicy pho because that's what it is. They used pho noodles, not "bun" (a different kind of vermicelli). And it's basically the same meat they use for their pho. It's far from the traditional Vietnamese bun bo hue. With that being said, it wasn't bad. Like I said, just think of it as spicy pho. I would prefer it if they took away the sign calling it bun bo hue though. It's very misleading. Overall, it's a good Vietnamese restaurant in Utah. I will just stick to pho and banh mi here. read more

Ordered out here and arrived for pick up at the time they had given but the food wasn't ready and had to wait an additional 25 minutes. However with COVID I understand that take out demands are higher so that wasn't so much of a bother. However when we got home to eat our food, we were extremely disappointed. We had ordered the combination bowl and a rare steak pho and both were not good. The combination bowl was extremely bland as if there was no flavor. Also the meat seemed old as if they had that batch made for a few days cause the meat was chewy. The rare steak pho was greasy and also bland. I know each pho place has their own flavors but this one had no flavor! The noodles were over cooked so it made the pho mushy quick. Overall I would skip out on this place and go somewhere else. Just a hidden hem on the border of Clearfield and Layton! Walk up to counter and you'll see a menu with popular Vietnamese dishes. I went with the Korean beef sandwich and a strawberry smoothie with extra boba. I love that the smoothies are made with fresh fruit. You don't see that too often-- most are made with powders. That being said, don't expect the sweetness to be the same! Real fruit obviously tastes different than high fructose corn syrup. I got my food to go and everything came out in under 10 minutes.
