I am so disappointed with the Korean BBQ. I ordered two plates, and paid $18 per plate because I ordered online for pickup. Evidently, if you order over the phone, you pay the menu price which is $15.95. That was rip-off number one. When I brought the food home, the cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes were not on the plate, and then, the food was dry. Good grief! They did give me a $2 refund for the missing vegetables, but that still didn't make up for the poor quality food. I gave it 2 stars because the pho was decent. read more

Really cute little restaurant with a great staff! Warning, this is not a very vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurant! They have one veggie pho option, but I'm not sure if the broth is veggie broth or not. This is definitely geared toward meat eaters, even the appetizers. That being said, they have great options! Lots of different noodle, rice, and pho options with different flavors and meats. I got the veggie pho, and really enjoyed it. It was packed with lots of veggies, including cabbage, which I had never had in pho before, and thought it was a great addition! My favorite spot for pho is still in Allen, so they didn't quite get me with their flavors to leave my favorite spot, but if you're on Mckinney (and aren't strict veg) then this is a great spot to check out! read more

I was so hopeful for Pho Bistro. *Bahn mi chicken sandwich: Super DRY meat/ sandwhich & no flavor. *Beef Garlic noodles: Tasted and looked like chow mein. Not close to garlic noodles at all. Reminded me of noodles you could buy at a chinese food court in the mall. *Beef stew- Most of the beef had huge fatty pieces with it, so the quality was not good. Prob less than 8 pieces of meat in the stew with carrots. Super oily, lacking flavor. *Flat noodles- Looked good, but lacked flavor. *Thai Tea and Jasmine tea drinks are mixed powder drinks- don't order. Spent ~$75.00 and most of the food went to waste. Not interested in trying out their Pho after this disappointment. Management should really re-vamp their menu/get better cooks/chefs who will put in the effort to make delicious food. read more

I'm really really torn about this review. We discovered Pho Bistro a few years ago and was very pleased with it. The food was very tasty and I really enjoyed their Pho. I would often get the pho to bring to work, but then something happened....... Out of the blue, the Pho was bad. I don't mean they changed some ingredients and it tasted different, but it (the broth) was just terrible. I am not trying to bash Pho Bistro, but it was not good. I thought "Okay, they had a bad day with the broth, it happens to the best of us". I waited a few weeks and got the Pho again to take to work. Again, it tasted bad. I tried one more time, and again it was not good. That was about 1 year ago and I haven't tried it since. I will happily edit this review if I try it again and it's improved. The good news is that I got The Shaken Filet Mignon a couple of weeks ago (to go) and it was so delicious! It's the most expensive thing on the menu, but I think it's totally worth it. The restaurant is very clean and the people have been very nice. Like I said, I will gladly upgrade my review if I try the Pho again and it has improved back to the way it was, which I hope it does. read more

In my opinion, they just don't know how to cook bún bò huế at all. The broth taste like phở broth as I can taste and smell star anise and no beef shank. I believe they took the phở broth and put some chili sauce on top along with pig feet, pig blood, and fatty brisket (usually find in phở) and call it bún bò huế. Just avoid bún bò huế at all cost. I wonder if they do the same for egg noodle soup but wouldn't dare to try though. read more

Maybe it was an off day but it was not crowded so not sure what happened that day. My husband hates when I send him here for pickup. Unfortunately there aren't many pho places around this area so we kept going back despite the worst customer service. Today was the last day. Update: service here ranges from awesome to horrible. I think I got the owner last night and tried explaining to her the Diet Coke needed to be replaced; she told me it was fine. The other diners complained and she told them to drink it without ice. Very weird. The shrimp tempura was not good last night. Pho was still decent though! I'm not going to say I'm some kind of pho expert here, but I can tell good from bad and what you get here is decent. It is neither the best nor the worst pho around; I came in today because it's convenient to home and the portions are huge for a great price. Small is a good sized amount for 7.50 on most bowls, 8.50 for large. I always get the big one because I like leftovers. A good pho is all about (in my opinion) how much doctoring I have to do to the broth. Here the broth is just ok, but it needs some help getting flavor, which is easy with the siracha and hoisin on the table. As other reviews state, there's A LOT of noodles in there, and you'd do best by asking for a few less. Don't get me wrong, they are good, but they take up more room and you don't get enough broth to meat ratio. They do give a good amount of meat, but again, those noodles are the star here, simply because it's all you can get at. My only real gripe here is that the broth is super oily. I get that some is to be expected, but man, the oil is really heavy here. The service was awesome, and my waitress even helped me box up my leftovers. I'll be back when I need a hit:) read more

The food is amazing, but the service is severely lacking. There is one woman in particular who's always been rude whenever I'd go. She's an older lady and just doesn't have the welcoming vibe about her. She makes me feel more like a burden than anything. She doesn't write down what you order, and just stares at you. I went with my sister and her friends and she mixed up the order but we had already eaten a few bites before noticing and she told us just to switch. We have enjoyed the Pho here on many occasions. Tonight we ordered a few other dishes that leave a lot to be desired. The Pad Thai was unrecognizable and when I called to make sure we got the right dish their answer was that that do it differently. It is not a dish that I'd ever order again. It didn't not have the spices or flavor that you'd expect from Pad Thai whatsoever. Instead I had to salt it and add sauce to make it even palatable. The Korean Beef was just ok. No sauce, just white rice. For someone that lives Vietnamese and Thai Food this doesn't rate high in my book. read more

First, at these places there are shared condiments which I have no problem with...except when there is a dried noodle on the soy sauce and an errant piece of cilantro in the Sambal. Second, the menu looks right but the the pho broth is not even close. It's watery and just bland. Worst...the service. I went in to order 2 Banh Mi from Pho Bistro. I waited and was excited to try this place for the first time. When I got home, I opened the package, surprised how small this $7.50 package was as I unwrapped it. Then I opened the sandwich (see photo). One piece of fatty, chewy pork that was inedible with one small piece of cucumber and very few vegetables. When I called, the lady who answered the phone acted all surprised. I have had the spring rolls also. They were very good . My mother ordered the pad Thai and it wasn't the best. Kind of so so. I would say stick to the Vietnamese options and you can't go wrong! Last time here food was cold, and staff bored and dismissive. Tonight they locked the doors at 9pm - and pretended it was normal. Looked at us like we were stupid when we went in the side door.
