We've been here a number of times for an early lunch or at lunch. When this place is busy the service can take awhile but we can wait because the staff is friendly and appreciative of patrons choosing their restaurant. I notice this time it took time for them to clean the tables which was quite surprising but they were busy with on line orders. I've enjoyed their ban mi sandwiches. Bread is light, protein and vegetables are perfect for the size of sandwich. The secret sandwich spread makes this sandwich unbelievable. Honestly such a great find for pho in this area. Definitely one of my faves to come to when I'm craving it. PARKING: There's plenty of space to park in the surrounding lot. No need to street park here. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is on the smaller side with only a few tables. Each time we've come, there has been open seating for us to get seated quickly. There's a giant mural of how to eat pho like a pro. SERVICE: Never had an issue. The ladies are always quick to seat us and often refill our waters. They bring the food out hot and fresh and we've honestly never waited more than 10 minutes for our food. She was quick to come to the table to take our orders and are always courteous to us when we come in. FOOD: I always get the brisket pho. They have two sizes, small and large. They are pretty decent portions and I always leave full. They serve pho with limes, bean sprouts, and all the fixings. They have hoison sauce and Sriracha on hand as well. Now the brisket and noodles are always good but the star is the broth. I'm so picky with my pho broths and this one always has that deep, rich flavour that I look for in pho. It's a darker broth and doesn't taste watered down like some of the other places I've had in Portland. I've also had their egg rolls and I love them. Always served piping hot and crispy. Wow, this place blew me away. I'm quite picky when it comes to pho because I don't like any condiments in my pho because good broth doesn't need anything. Pho Hung is my usual go to but I tried this place with a friend & this place is phenomenal. The broth is clean & rich in flavor. No condiments needed! Love how much green onions & onions they put on top. Lots of meat as well. The egg rolls were okay, good but not the best I've had. My friend got the brothers special vermicelli bowl & I had a bite of it & it was delicious, not much of a vermicelli person but the sauce & portions of everything was great. Service is great, very friendly & quick. This place has a mom & pop shop feel, not very busy which I liked. Very quiet compared to other pho restaurants where you can hear the kitchen bustling. Inside is very cute! Pretty art on the walls & you can see a little into the kitchen. Would definitely come back to this place if I was in the area. Pho Brothers has become my go-to pho spot here in Vancouver. I usually stick with my usual order at any pho restaurant--Pho Tai Nam (rare beef and brisket)--and they do it really well. The broth is packed with flavor, though on the sweeter side, so I tend to go light on the hoisin sauce. Still, the overall taste is solid and pretty close to some of the popular pho places over in SE Portland. As for their Vietnamese coffee, it's a bit different than the traditional style. It's lighter, and I didn't get that strong coffee kick or rich condensed milk flavor. It almost seems like they use half and half instead, which makes it smoother but not as bold as I'm used to. We had their fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce and their vegan pho by the bowl. Their broth is so rich and heartwarming. I fell in love with it. We came here after some friends had mentioned how much they liked it. Super cute modern place. I had seen others mention that it gets busy here. I guess we had come between lunch & dinner, so there was only 1 other party in there. Of course with "pho" in the name of the place, we knew what we had to get. I like that they offer 2 sizes as usually it's a lot for me. You can customize your pho, choosing 2-3 meats or choose from one their pre-made selections. We also wanted to try one of their specialties, so we went with the fried rice. The pho came with the usual plate of vegetable, but this one also came with a sauce that tasted like hoisin mixed with some other stuff. It was a nice change from the usual hoisin, although that was offered on the side along with srircha & a chili like sauce. Broth was really tasty. We really enjoyed the fried rice with its mix of meats & shrimp. Super light, airy & tasty with that wok flavor. Pricing was on par with other pho restaurants. I will start by saying the food was delicious. The woman at the register was very nice. However, I placed an online order with instructions for pick up at 7pm. I placed my order at 3:30. They cooked the food at 3:30, and there it sat until I was done with my errands at 7 pm. The food was ice cold and appears to have been left sitting on the counter for pick up. I don't even know if it was safe to eat. But I ate it, and I didn't die, so... I don't know if I will ever give them my business again. I feel like they should have refunded me, but that was never offered. I'm giving them 2 stars since the food was yum. I got a Thai Tea (standard but these suckers are always good) and a vermicelli plate with bbq pork (It looked a bit dry so I was hesitant but also hungry so into my mouth it went and yum. It was delish!), grilled shrimp (2 pieces that were nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly), a crispy egg roll with tasty filling, the standard share of veggies (shredded lettuce & bean sprouts), and crispy topping. I thought the sauce lacked depth but it sufficed and enough was given to cover the noodles and everything else. The portion was fair, nothing to write home about but I also don't feel short changed so there's that. I would eat here again if someone else was buying. Didn't have a great experience at Pho Brothers. Our server gals nearly disregarded our table. Our pho was also oilier than normal, see photo. Me and my husband we're famished and saw their great reviews. We looked inside to see if there'd be a long wait and only saw one group in the middle that were chatting over empty plates of pho. Me and my husband walked in. Then two other people walked in that joined the group in the middle. We witnessed the two people, who walked in at the same time as us, already receive their drinks and get their order taken before us. Some time had passed. Eventually we were given water and had our order taken too. In addition to our order of pho, we also ordered an appetizer of gyoza and fried rice to get something into our starving bellies faster. More time had passed. No appetizer. No Water refill. We looked over at the group and saw the two people who came in at the same time as us, already getting their appetizer, drinks refilled and fresh food. They didn't seem understaffed for two parties of two. The restaurant had two servers on the floor and more than three kitchen staff/chefs. At this point, we begin to wonder - did we do something wrong? We were not given the same service, timely attentiveness, ect. Benefit of the doubt would be to assume there was alot of takeout orders too, or a language barrier, but it was most likely the other table had their family/friends. After all, one of the kitchen staff was chatting with them for a bit. The gyoza was okay, was the crunchy fried kind, not the moist kind. The fried rice was good. Our pho was very oily, not good. I've only had their food via Door Dash and I would say probably one of the better Pho in the Vancouver area, and this is coming from a 30 minute delivery from restaurant to my office. The broth is flavorful and they give you a good amount of meat. There is a sauce that they throw in there in the veggies that I didn't like in particular. Reminded me of a sauce for Be Thui (or roast veal). My most recent one didn't have that and instead had the chili in hot oil which is a big plus.
