Take out P3 on the menu

Always great food & huge portions. I order one of the beef pho broths with veggies from the vegetarian pho to add cabbage, carrots, & broccoli. So good. Mom ordered the tofu yakisoba & loved it.

Pad Thai chicken with salad rolls
    Robert K.

Came in while I was getting something at the ACE Hardware store in the same parking lot. There were a few people eating in there. The place is wide open and lots of room to move around. The young man took my order of salad rolls and chicken pad thai. The salad rolls were kind of warm. Like not very cold. They had shrimp and chicken in them. The chicken taste a little stale. The peanut sauce was a little runny. They were not wrapped very tightly and the salad roll fell apart on me half way thru eating it. The pad Thai was weird. I don't think they used rice noodles. It was a thicker kind of noodle they used. It tasted ok. Was not really a big fan or it. They do have different sauces for you to take your to go order home like siracha and hoisen sauces. Over all I was not too impressed and definitely had better. Maybe this place is just more of a pho place and not a pad Thai place. Idk.

    Lady bug found in P4.

Service was great, the menu semi bland. The ambiance was quiet with contemporary music. We were having a great time. My wife ordered a P4 (brisket pho). I ordered a P5, and my sons shared a P3. We got an order of the wings and an order of the fried spring rolls. Everything was great until it wasn't. My wife finds this, a lady bug, in her soup. Immediately lost my appetite.

Friendly, bright, clean, quick. Really liked the Bun Bo Hue. Surprised this is found in Battle Ground, and better than many places in Vancouver.

    Beef broth pho with chicken

The ingredients are great quality and fresh!! I tried the pho beef broth with chicken and it was delicious! You get a good amount too. The orange chicken was a bit disappointing as I was expecting the battered and fried version, but it was actually really delicious and moist chunks of chicken cooked in orange juice. Not much flavor and I was a bit disappointed, but again, I appreciated the quality of the chicken. I will definitely be back for pho!!

Salad rolls with peanut sauce and chili paste

I'm not in Battle Ground much, but was happy to find a pho place here. It's tucked away in the parking lot of an Ace Hardware store, near a Dutch Brothers. Don't let the drive thru line scare you off, it's for the coffee shop. The interior is nice with soft music and clean tables, some booths, and nice plants. I started with the salad rolls followed by the special pho. I was a little disappointed when she let me know that they didn't do tripe or tendon in the special pho here. Bummer. But I imagine it might not be to the tastes of a lot of the locals, or maybe it didn't sell well. That being said, here is my review. The salad rolls were very good. Clearly freshly made, tender rice paper, with tender shrimp. The peanut sauce wasn't too sweet, and the chili paste they brought out on request was amazing. Seriously, ask for it. Comes in a silver little pot. It's SO good. The P1 (combination pho) was good. Pretty clear, flavorful broth, tender meats, with fresh greens and herbs to go on top. A very solid experience. Will happily be back next time I'm in town :)

Salad roll with shrimp, a pork plate and a Vietnamese sandwich with a a Thai tea.

I called the order in ahead of time and that was super easy was only about a 10 to 15 minute wait, which was perfect picked up the food. The customer service is extremely nice. The overall look of the place was clean and aesthetically pleasing. I'll definitely eat in next time, and the food is to die for the tea. Drink was a bit too sweet for me but a little water couldn't fix.

Nice big spacious resturant with a large menu. My son and I got spring rolls and wonton soup with the egg noodles. It was good and definitely worth trying if you're looking for some good soup in Battle Ground.

I have been coming here often and finally writing a review! The salad rolls are $7.50 fresh and huge! We love the Thai tea here, nothing special but very yummy! Now, I come here often for their chicken bahn mi sandwich and I must say it's the best one I've had! The baguette is always so soft and FRESH! And I've had a few bahn mis from different places in San Francisco and San Jose CA, but this one is by far the best! Very tasty! Service is great and staff is always friendly! Lots of space inside but we mainly get to go. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Obsessed with this place. I just wish they were open to eat inside, eating pho take out is such a different experience. :( It's ok though Broth is delicious, meat is yummy and noodles are legit. Rolls are tasty, not too porky The chicken sandwich wasn't good for me because my husband orders it without anything. I'll come back again and again

Had some spring rolls and shrimp salad rolls!

Most other Chinese/teriyaki places that you go to that offer this many choices, you expect sub par, bland tasting food. But not Rising Sun Teriyaki! OMG! The food was fresh and tasty. We started out with the Egg Drop Soup. Oh man. It was hot and fresh. It was not over salted or too spicy. It was just right. And they made it fresh just for our table. Our kids then had potstickers Andover son combined it with chicken teriyaki. Let's first say that the potstickers were the best we had ever had. The owner said that the grandmother was in back making them. (My wife snuck a peek in the back and sure enough there she was making them). Our daughter mentioned that as long as the grandmother is back there making the potstickers, she will order them every time

There was only one patron there who was just about to leave. She was having a conversation with the owner who is a nice Asian man. I got the large egg flour soup and the teriyaki chicken yakisoba noodles to do. $22.00 total. I got home and the food looked delicious. As I got into scarfing down the noodles I notice a stale taste and it was the chicken. It's like they had a piece of chicken already cooked from days ago, there it on the grill or microwave to warm it up, cut it up and put it on top of the noodles. I did like the broccoli and cabbage they put in the yakisoba noodles but the sliced carrots seem to be stale too. I tried the egg drop soup and it had a funky taste like a fishy flavor to it. Maybe it was a bad day or maybe this is how they serve their food thete. Not too sure if this would be my first choice for lunch or not.

Absolutely could be a great date night. We started with an order of Crab Rangoons and Thai Tea. Both were fantastic! Some places over fry the rangoons making them overly oily or leaving a weird aftertaste. These were done just right! Filled with crab, cream cheese and celery. I would not have thought the celery would be a good addition (I hate celery) but in this moment it absolutely works! For a main we ordered round eye steak Phó and it was absolutely perfect! We agreed that the broth is one of the best we have ever had! Plenty of protein and fabulously fresh add ins (basil, limes, jalapeños and bean sprouts). Service was quick and our server was lovely. The vermicelli noodle egg rolls were yummy and the fish sauce was not too sweet, the chicken satay was pretty average as far as the meat but the peanut sauce? I'd DRINK that sweet firey goodness :P But the real star of the show was the chicken, onion, potato and vegetable curry. At first I was concerned spooning it out because the sauce was a little thinner than I'm used to, what a truly silly concern because there was more flavor in 1 serving spoon than in a cup of sauce from the same dish at other restaurants!! I was excited to see that this small food cart was parked in front of the Hockinson Market. Whoa! Not a place I would expect to see Vietnamese food. The first indicator I usually see of a Vietnamese restaurant if the food is good or not is the menu itself. First, is it in English only? Or is it both Vietnamese and English? This cart only had English which should have been a sign. Listed on the menu was some kind of roll that SOUNDED like maybe it was Goi Cuon, which is a fresh roll, not fried. I asked the person at the cart if it was like Goi Cuon and she looked at me like I had 2 heads. Maybe the worker wasn't Vietnamese? She didn't seem to know what I was talking about. She showed me the crepe/roll they used and it looked more like pita or a tortilla (not the thin rice paper roll I'm used to). I passed on the mystery roll but ordered the regular crispy roll/cha gio. My husband ordered a rice dish with beef. I took one bite of the egg roll and it was bland and flavorless. I didn't even swallow, I just spit it out. One of the most disgusting things I've ever had. My husband wasn't even motivated to try the rice dish since we disliked the rolls so much. I'm all for giving a place a chance, but I just couldn't. WIll definitely note be back.
