(P2) Pho Tai / Steak Pho with added chicken and vegetables
    Kai N.

Food: 3/5 I got the steak pho and added extra chicken and vegetables. It was average pho to be honest. Decent size, but not super flavorful. Meat and vegetables were good, but nothing to write home about. Service: 3/5 Average service. The owner seemed nice and legit, but the young guy working the front counter had airpods in and we had to ask for utensils. Ambiance: 3/5 Sort of backroom vibes? The lighting was dim which gave it that intimate atmosphere, which I liked. But, the layout was kind of weird like a hallway down the left side, maybe it's just more structured for takeout, but I just didn't love it as a dine-in experience.

First time trying this restaurant, definitely delicious. Fresh authentic Vietnamese flavors we all know and love. The French bread in my banh mi came out perfectly warm and crispy. The aroma of fresh baked bread permeated the restaurant. I was drooling from the moment we walked in! What really struck me tho, is how kind service was. From the host, to my server, everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Food came out very quickly. Just moved to the area-I know I will be back soon!

Vietnamese crepe, very good, I ate the whole thing.

The food was great, I had the Vietnamese crepe, the service was very prompt, it's fairly small, 10-12 tables, clean and friendly.

This is my favorite Vietnamese food in Vancouver/Camas area. The baguette is high quality and the filling is authentic with pickles. Yummy!

This is what my coconut flan looked like when I got my takeout order home.

After visiting my mother in the hospital I wasn't in the mood to cook dinner. I had a craving for pho and all my usual haunts were closed, so I found the listing for Pho House and thought I'd give it a try. The restaurant receives generally positive reviews, so I'm genuinely surprised by my extremely underwhelming experience. I understand folks are in a hurry to go home at the end of a long day, so I feel conflicted about writing this review. The restaurant closes at 9PM. I placed my order at 8:35 PM and picked it up at 8:45 PM. I may be wrong, but this seems perfectly reasonable to me. I ordered a Pho Tai, Thai iced tea, and a coconut flan. At $17, my pho was comically small. The broth filled just over half of the container, and the noodles and veggies were about 60% smaller of a portion than what I would expect to receive from other restaurants. It was such a small portion I have to believe it was a mistake, or someone was in a hurry. The ice in the Thai tea was melted in the 10 minutes it took me to pick up my order, so it was warm and watered down. The flan dissolved into a pile of goo, likely from the heat of the broth. Overall, I'm genuinely surprised by the lack of quality control. It's such a disappointment. This restaurant's saving grace is the pho was phenomenal. The broth was rich and delicious, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. But I can't justify spending that much for such a tiny portion. I don't believe I will ever return to Pho House.

Wow, very nice. This place used to be Tan Tan (years ago) but has been redone and expanded recently into a larger space! Karaoke at night or book for parties! My friend and I were in for lunch today and ordered the fried "egg" (or spring) rolls with pork, and OMG, what a treat. The fish sauce was on par with any good place. Two bowls of steaming Pho, one Tai, and one Special. The broth could use some work and a little sweet, but portions are great and would go again. For the price, I say, try it! Not real Sriracha, BTW.

It's always hard finding a good pho restaurant in Vancouver with good pho and good banh mi. Recently stopped in at Pho House with a co-worker for lunch and ordered a sandwich. Service was okay. The restaurant looks like it extends to the end of the building, which may be a bar? The sandwich I had was okay. Very skimpy on the meat. I've had better at a couple other places in Vancouver.

Was in town for work and staying at the hotel across the street; and it was a rainy day (of course), so the Pho house looked like the perfect choice. I got here early, before diner time and there were just a couple busy tables, I got greeted and seated immediately. Tables were clean, and packed with everything you'd need: from chopsticks and spoons to chilly sauce and soy/sriracha jars, and more! I had the spring rolls - DELICIOUS! Perfectly fried (no rancid oil smell), tons of filling (pork, chives) and paired with the sweet and sour sauce, yum. The Pho was the house chicken pho and I added shrimp, oh boy was that a big bowl or what? I ate half and took the rest to the hotel where thankfully I could re heat for later! The broth itself was flavorful and with the fresh toppings (basil, sprouts) was the perfect combination. Oh! And the quail eggs were a Little pleasant surprise to find in the bowl! Total cost for the quality and amount of food was more than expected. I recommend!

This place used to be called "Tan Tan deli", and for 13 years it was my favorite vietnamese spot in the coove. They switched ownership a while before the pandemic, and I pretty much stopped eating there except for the iced coffee & the lemongrass bahn mi sandwiches with extra paté (both are VERY GOOD). I was in town, so my aunt and I decided to have lunch here, and I'm glad that we did. The bahn mi bread was fresh, light and crispy, the flavor of the meat & veggies was perfect (and I always get extra paté on my sandwich). My auntie loved the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl. She even said she's coming back after I leave town! That's a compliment from her .

It was my first time visiting Pho House, and it was great!! The food was delicious, the service was good and the restaurant was clean. Definitely recommend trying the pork chop plate and dumplings.

Even going on a Monday night, it was packed with people, however, we were able to snag a table for two without a reservation right away. The service was attentive and helpful. I got the full portion of the smoked mushroom ravioli and I absolutely loved it. I appreciated that the portion was quite large because too often ordering ravioli means you barely get any pasta. The sauce was decadent, savory, smokey, and had a hint of sweetness, which pulled everything together.

Our server was friendly and quick. She answered questions and described the specials. They have gluten free focaccia!!!! It was super yummy, but it was also served kinda cold. Worth it. We ordered the fresh catch, which was halibut with some potatoes and grilled asparagus. The accompanying sauces were delicious. The asparagus was good. The white potatoes though had been cooked previously and weren't reheated enough. They were described as new potatoes but were definitely large chunks of russets. They were hard to eat. So we didn't. We also had the Punta di Fesa which is a braised beef dish with mushrooms on polenta. The balsamic mushrooms and polenta were so flavorful and delicious. It was a good thing that my husband started with this dish (we traded halfway through and had plenty to eat!) because I would have eaten his share of the polenta too. The beef however was dry and not what I would have expected from a braised beef. When we were given a knife, we were told we probably wouldn't need it. We did. The service here was friendly and helpful. Our server was knowledgeable about gluten free needs and recommended a great bottle of wine that went well with our fish AND the beef (which is tricky...yummy Chianti AND half price!). It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 7. There were people that ended up waiting but not too long. There are shelves of Italian goods all around you. My husband said he felt like he was eating in a store. You kind of are, but it was still cozy. I plan to come back to try the gluten free pasta and maybe a lunch sandwich if they have solid gf options there. Also, the dessert menu looked great. We were just full.

The majority of the sandwiches contain meat, so I would not recommend this for vegans or pescatarians. Jim was delicious and I consumed both halves of Jim flawlessly. Either hunger overruled me, or the sandwich was that satisfying. I do recommend the shop, but with limited options for non-meat eaters, I truthfully would rate Lottie and Zulas, 4.5.
