    Spring roll with grilled pork

I placed a pick up order through their website and was a little disappointed. The food itself tasted great and I ordered from here because I've been wanting to try banh Khot but the fresh veggies it came with were not washed well enough and had bugs hidden in the lettuce leaves.

We got delivery with uber eats. This review is just the delivered food experience. House Special Pho Uber says this is $13.95, but when you add to cart, you have to choose a size, and you only have the option to choose "large" for an extra $2. So this is a $16 dish. Don't like the price hiding game folks... Also, the dish was missing tripes. My favorite.. I believe the extra $2 I paid was probably just for the noodles, as it came with a huge amount of noodles, but not really a large portion of meats. I could have also used a little more sprouts. Soup flavor was good, though, as I remember it at the restaurant. Calamari Stone Not sure why it's called "stone". But it's fried calamari. It's got an interesting redish color. It was cold upon delivery. Not warm, not lukewarm, but cold. Like it came out of the fridge. Meanwhile the pho soup came piping hot, so I know they just put this on a container from the fridge without reheating or cooking fresh. I don't necessarily mind cold food, but this one wasn't good cold. The squid was chewy and the batter was separated. Sad. I didn't think you could really go wrong with this dish. Papaya salad with shrimp Meh. Another disappointment. It came with sauce on the side, but the salad was already tossed in sauce. This dish was also underwhelming, mostly because it was probably pre-made and sitting there for a lot longer than the 30 minutes it took for delivery. The papaya and carrots were wilty from having been sitting on the vinegar based sauce. Only saving grace were the huge shrimp pieces that were cooked just right. I would go to the physical location, but I'm very underwhelmed by the delivery option. Will not do it again.

Loving the crisp weather because a bowl of Pho Cali's pho tastes even better than it usually does! This probably my 50th visit. Always greeted warmly, feels like home. And the pho is fragrant with spices and meat - noodles fresh and springy, the basil and bean sprouts fresh and crunchy. Please support this amazing "mom and pop" business.

Not as good as it used to be. The pho base is still delicious but the meat is not. Especially the rubbery meat balls. The restaurant seems dirty and it needs a lot of repairs. Only a few people that work there speak English and they don't always get the orders correct. My kids got the sweet and sour chicken (which is completely different that the chinese kind) and the chicken was sopped in sauce but completely dry. The service is very slow and it took forever for someone to come over and then to get the bill. We had to track them down for the bill.

Pho Cali has been my go to spot for takeout whenever I crave Vietnamese food! Their banh mi (I've had the pork and beef banh mi's) are super delicious and flavorful and their pho is so good! They give you a ton of noodles and meat, and the broth is pretty flavorful. So far it's the best pho I've had in Milwaukee! I'll definitely have to try their other items in the menu (especially the bún riêu)!

Contender for best Vietnamese in Milwaukee. I had lunch here today and had a really great meal. I showed up later in the lunch hour on Sunday and the restaurant was busy. I got a seat without any trouble though. Service was bare-bones but that was expected. You're here for food. I was impressed by the large menu and reasonable prices. The spring roll order came with 3 rolls and the "medium" house special pho was huge and packed with noodles and different cuts and textures of beef. I took a spring roll with me I was so full. And I was also impressed by the full chili tray with all the condiments. There was hoisin and lime juice and Sriracha and a couple other types of chili sauce. I made a point to not go overboard on the condiments but add enough to enjoy all the flavors. The pho has a lot going on by itself. I saw bun bo hue and crab noodles on the menu, as well as the crispy pancake and vermicelli and rice dishes. It's worth getting out here.

The customer service here was impeccable. I came on a slow Wednesday around 3:00PM. I got the tofu spring rolls and asked if they had a tofu/veggie pho since it wasn't listed on the menu. They did. It came with bok choy, celery, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, mushrooms, and onions. I do believe the broth is beef broth though (sorry vegetarians). Everything tasted amazing and they packed all my stuff up to go and gave me extra to boot. Will come back again and again.

Pho Cali Special was delicious and perfectly spicy!

He went early to get our bake on the list and they were spot on with the wait time. We did sit outside which I think sped things up. We all ordered an assortment of coffee beverages. There are so many great options on the menu and I was torn between three. Luckily one of my friends was torn between two of the same ones I was looking at so she split them. The spam omelette was delicious and paired well with the Johnny cakes. The Johnny cakes are massive and we ended up both taking leftovers home of that. The orange blossom syrup was really good with it. Our server was attentive and stayed on top of water refills which was appreciated as it was a warm day to be eating outside. Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. The food is thoughtfully plated without trying too hard, and the prices feel fair for the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. Another lil Milwaukee gem!

I was standing there waiting for her, like IN HER WAY! Smiling and all! lol this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The whole vibe here is that of a toxic work environment, starting with the hostesses that have zero and I mean ZERO interest in your experience as a customer of this establishment. Frankly makes me feel sorry for the owners when they have staff like this working for them. I had to walk away from two drinks we ordered on the way out because of the second hostess's attitude with us!!! She was so rude to the lady that prepared our drinks! Than was rude to us? People just don't understand sometimes that they are in the wrong field and we as customers don't have to put up with their attitude wherever it may be coming from. It's a pass for me, sorry Xavier we won't be coming back! (Xavier was our server, he was super nice, he gets the whole customer experience portion which seems to be a foreign concept to the rest of the staff). We got the mimosa and Bloody Mary flights. They even flavor their own vodkas in house for the bloody's! Online it said both kinds of flights were included their special if the day, which was BOGO half off, but the staff told us the bloody flights were not included. We ordered a skillet, burrito, and harvest hash. Everything was great and came out quickly! What the restaurant is lacking is in overall aesthetic and cleanliness. It seems unfinished inside, has chipped paint, the canvas on the seats is ripping, and the floors were quite dirty where we were seated. We visited when there was only an hour left of them being open, and the staff made it seem like they were wanting to close up. If some of these items are addressed, this place has potential to be really great!

We really wanted to Brunch It Up...we love a good brunch place...so much. We left wishing we'd gone…read moresomewhere else. Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.
