Pho was on good. Wanted extra basil, she was like "that was extra." Place was mood lit. Combo is my standard. Not enough weird stuff that I love. Overall ok experience. Nothing to go out of your way for around here. Not the friendliest bunch. It could be me though, I was sort all over the place if to eat in or take home. Sorry if I need a fork. I got paws so chopsticks ain't my thing. Spring rolls were good. Just OK.

Large 4. 4. (Fatty) Brisket Pho

The food portions are pretty generous and the taste was even better. I hardly made a dent in my pho and had plenty left over. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. They must be under new management as there's no way this can only have 3.5 stars at the time of this review.

Finally gave this place a try. Ordered the pho and the garden rolls to go, ordering online made it easy which is a plus. Broth was tasty, no need to use hoisin sauce. I got me special pho which came with all sorts of meats. One thing they were lacking of was the green onions and jalapenos peppers. Garden roll was good but didn't dig the peanut sauce. Prices are fair here, cheaper than some places around Manassas.

Visited here recently and really liked it! One of my favorite things about this restaurant was the decorations and atmosphere. You can tell that they spent a lot of time to make the interior look nice. The summer rolls and pho were delicious. The meat was a little more fatty compared to what I'm used to when I order similarly at other pho restaurants, but I enjoyed my bowl. The regular size was very generous and also had a lot more meat serving-size-wise as compared to other pho establishments in the area (nice!). The restaurant was not crowded when we went but the service here was not that good. Our waters remained empty on the table for some time and we had to repeatedly flag down our server for simple things. I noticed they had a lot of take-out orders though, so I would definitely guess that is most people's preference when eating here.

I visited Pho Char for the first time recently for lunch on a warm Saturday afternoon. Pho Char has been open for a couple of months now - according to my server. It was in the mid-70's outside when I walked in - and it was absolutely sweltering inside the restaurant when I walked in. It must have been in the upper 80's inside. I mentioned this to the server, I think they somehow did not anticipate how warm it would get inside - with the kitchen contributing heat into the dining area, on a warm day outside - and with the AC not turned on. I ordered the fresh garden rolls, and a large Pho Ga. I asked that the rolls come out first. They were rather average. Next came the Pho Ga. I first tasted the chicken broth before adding anything. The broth had a nice tasty, richness to it. The plate of aromatics was fresh. I added the bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil, and lime wedge to the bowl. And went to town. Pretty good bowl of Pho Ga. And of course, the ridiculous high temperature inside the restaurant detracted from my enjoyment of the Pho - but it was still good Pho Ga. As I was paying my bill - the server was very apologetic about the temperature inside - and promised it would be cooler inside next time I visited. I will definitely try this place out again - but it had better not be a sauna in here again - if so, I'll re-visit some of the other quality Pho joints in the area. #PhoChar

    Smoothie menu

The place is kinda dark but the food is good. Large pho is huge. The soup is nice hot and not too salty, perfect for hot weather. This place also has an extensive menu of smoothie and blended drinks made from fresh fruits. The summer rolls were nice and fresh. The menu is limited to pho, fried rice and rice with grilled meat. We I wish they also serve sandwiches and vermicelli. Regardless, we are fans of their pho.

    Helena K.

Their pho was good. Decent pho. Flavorful. If I ever want pho ill definitely swing by. They have a lot of healthy smoothie choice.

    Pho 1. Combination Pho

Amazing pho! I ordered the combination pho regular size! It was perfect and not to salty.

It''s just average for me. If you been exposed to authentic pho or Vietnamese cuisine. This place is not for you. The Pho's broth is way too sweet for my taste. The summer roll is fresh but the peanut sauce just basically a thin peanut butter .The place is small and cute design but so laud .The cook keep yelling in Chinese the whole time we are dinning in there.May be it's part of the ambience. The server is not talking at all. Until payment time she asked if we ready to pay. You get your own silverware from the cashier.not coming back because we have a better place to eat in this area too.

Nothing exceptional but good quality, good food And a fair amount of steak in mine for $16. I wish I could say the same about the service or lack there of provided by the two young female servers. For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again

I know - because I asked the restaurant staff when I recently visited in person for some Pho. Why is this important? Because, for some reason - the previous business listing under the "Viet Flavor" name - was simply updated/changed on Yelp to "Pho Banh MI 89" - and of course this keeps all the reviews that were under the the Viet Flavor name. What should have occurred - is that the Viet Flavor business listing is "Closed," and a new business listing created for "Pho Banh MI 89." Until that happens - I have no way to post a review except for here. I visited recently to sample the Pho Ga. The Pho Ga was expensive - I paid around $17 and change for a bowl - seemed a little high. I also ordered the Summer Rolls - which were pretty standard quality-wise. The Pho Ga chicken broth is a bit light for my palate. I'd like to see more depth of flavor and complexity to the chicken broth. As usual, after tasting the broth - I added all the accoutrements: Fresh Basil, lime juice, Jalapeños, and Bean Sprouts. Noodles were not clumped; broth was steaming. Decent bowl of Pho Ga - but not outstanding. The inside of the place was totally gutted during the transition to the new business. Bright, clean, lots of seating. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. #PhoBanhMI89

Ambiance is casual. It's a small restaurant at a strip mall (the restaurant's capacity is 85 people). This place always has customers but at peak dining times, there's a wait out the door- yes, even during summer sometimes, but especially when it's cold or raining. Their pho is spectacular, as is their vermicelli bowls, spring and summer rolls. Banh xeo is mid-- there's a specific spice that throws it off (maybe turmeric). I stopped by here recently and noticed they have new menus. Quick skim: pho prices haven't changed, but certain menu items have gone up about $1. If you're looking for a sweet treat after lunch, there's a Sweet Frog 2 doors down, Okaeri next door (Japanese soufflé pancakes and lattes), Paris Baguette a few yards away. Deep, rich, and layered with flavor, it had that slow-simmered warmth that makes you appreciate a well-made bowl of spicy beef noodle soup. Every sip felt like comfort in a spoon. The beef was tender, the noodles had the right bite, and the overall execution was solid. Service? Friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself? Clean and well-kept. No complaints on that front. Now, for the one thing that threw me off--the ambiance. Sitting in a Vietnamese restaurant, fully ready to embrace the experience, I found myself listening to Hispanic music and watching Spanish TV. It wasn't blaring or disruptive, but it definitely took away from the immersion. I get that the area has a strong Hispanic presence, and I respect that, but when I'm diving into a bowl of pho, I want the setting to match the dish. Maybe that's just me, but it felt a little off-brand. Would I come back? Absolutely--for the food. The pho alone is worth the visit. I recently visited to try their restaurant week menu, which was also outstanding.

This place is almost certainly better than our experience. But I can only review the visit I had,…read moreso consider this a provisional review--one I hope to update after giving Nue another try. The evening started with parking at the Foundry Row garage in the building next to the restaurant. It isn't free, and paying for it involves something of a gauntlet of QR codes, authorization numbers, and, as I recall, an app. You scan something when you enter the garage, get an authorization code at the restaurant, and then enter that--along with your license plate number--to pay for parking. None of this is Nue's fault, of course, but it is something customers should be prepared to deal with. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were told that our table was being cleaned and would be ready in two or three minutes. Forty-five minutes later, after standing in the crowded bar the entire time, we were finally seated. We asked several staff members why things were so backed up. The best explanation we got was that the restaurant was trying out a new all-you-can-eat option and was still working out the kinks. Hold that thought. The all-you-can-eat experiment is going to come up again. A waiter appeared a few minutes after we were seated, and I ordered a Wood Dragon--the closest thing on the cocktail menu to a Manhattan--and the Imperial Wagyu Zabuton. My drink arrived about 30 minutes later. It was actually very good: nicely balanced, with layers of flavor, and a very credible variation on a Manhattan. Except... As I sipped it while waiting for my food, I noticed it was becoming watered down much faster than I would have expected. It was almost as though the large ice cube hadn't been cold enough to begin with, or the finished drink had been sitting around for a while before it reached me. Either explanation would be consistent with a restaurant struggling with the unexpected demands of a new all-you-can-eat program. By the time my dinner arrived, what had started as a very good cocktail had become a glass of brownish, Manhattan-flavored water. The Wagyu was OK, but it had some issues. The dish was at its best when I combined pieces of beef with the squash and not-at-all-spicy peppers. Together, they produced a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. Unfortunately, my plate contained only two small pieces of squash and three small pieces of pepper. The portion of beef also seemed smaller than what was pictured on the menu but still more than could be accommodated by the other elements. That meant that much of my dinner consisted simply of pieces of admittedly tasty--but somewhat fatty, even for Wagyu--beef. It was still good. It was also a little boring. Again, I'm inclined to attribute the shortcomings to the strain of the new all-you-can-eat program, or perhaps to the now-late hour and a kitchen trying to wind things down. One definite positive was the staff. Setting aside the substantial delays, everyone we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. One of the managers even stopped by our table to apologize for the wait. It was especially nice that everyone was so nice because, with a MANDATORY 20% service fee, they really didn't have to be. The manager also mentioned that Nue is working to expand into the space next door to increase its seating capacity. My concern is that unless the kitchen expands along with the dining room, adding more customers clamoring for food may not solve the problems we experienced. My recommendation to you is to do what we're going to do: give Nue a little time to work out the kinks, then try it (again). There was enough good food and enough promise here that I'm not ready to judge the restaurant based on one unusually chaotic night. There is one exception. If you--and everyone you're dining with--have HUGE appetites, you may want to go right now and order the all-you-can-eat option. For the entire time we were at our table, a young (and surprisingly svelte) couple at the table next to us received an apparently endless parade of plates heaped with all manner of delicious-looking food. Plate after plate after plate. Because... all you can eat.
