I find that their broth is full of flavor and their noodles have the proper consistency and do not begin to disintegrate (I noticed this primarily with takeout at other restaurants). The owner is very kind and courteous and so his is brother who works alongside him. As an added bonus, they make two signature hot sauce that I really enjoy, and I have not found anywhere else. One has lemon grass and it's just the perfect amount of tangy and fragrant! I often find a couples come here on dates or large families come by. The meal truly never misses. The menu has plenty of full options if soup is not really your thing, although I am slightly judging you because around this time of year Pho just cures the soul.

For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again

The evening started with parking at the Foundry Row garage in the building next to the restaurant. It isn't free, and paying for it involves something of a gauntlet of QR codes, authorization numbers, and, as I recall, an app. You scan something when you enter the garage, get an authorization code at the restaurant, and then enter that--along with your license plate number--to pay for parking. None of this is Nue's fault, of course, but it is something customers should be prepared to deal with. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were told that our table was being cleaned and would be ready in two or three minutes. Forty-five minutes later, after standing in the crowded bar the entire time, we were finally seated. We asked several staff members why things were so backed up. The best explanation we got was that the restaurant was trying out a new all-you-can-eat option and was still working out the kinks. Hold that thought. The all-you-can-eat experiment is going to come up again. A waiter appeared a few minutes after we were seated, and I ordered a Wood Dragon--the closest thing on the cocktail menu to a Manhattan--and the Imperial Wagyu Zabuton. My drink arrived about 30 minutes later. It was actually very good: nicely balanced, with layers of flavor, and a very credible variation on a Manhattan. Except... As I sipped it while waiting for my food, I noticed it was becoming watered down much faster than I would have expected. It was almost as though the large ice cube hadn't been cold enough to begin with, or the finished drink had been sitting around for a while before it reached me. Either explanation would be consistent with a restaurant struggling with the unexpected demands of a new all-you-can-eat program. By the time my dinner arrived, what had started as a very good cocktail had become a glass of brownish, Manhattan-flavored water. The Wagyu was OK, but it had some issues. The dish was at its best when I combined pieces of beef with the squash and not-at-all-spicy peppers. Together, they produced a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. Unfortunately, my plate contained only two small pieces of squash and three small pieces of pepper. The portion of beef also seemed smaller than what was pictured on the menu but still more than could be accommodated by the other elements. That meant that much of my dinner consisted simply of pieces of admittedly tasty--but somewhat fatty, even for Wagyu--beef. It was still good. It was also a little boring. Again, I'm inclined to attribute the shortcomings to the strain of the new all-you-can-eat program, or perhaps to the now-late hour and a kitchen trying to wind things down. One definite positive was the staff. Setting aside the substantial delays, everyone we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. One of the managers even stopped by our table to apologize for the wait. It was especially nice that everyone was so nice because, with a MANDATORY 20% service fee, they really didn't have to be. The manager also mentioned that Nue is working to expand into the space next door to increase its seating capacity. My concern is that unless the kitchen expands along with the dining room, adding more customers clamoring for food may not solve the problems we experienced. My recommendation to you is to do what we're going to do: give Nue a little time to work out the kinks, then try it (again). There was enough good food and enough promise here that I'm not ready to judge the restaurant based on one unusually chaotic night. There is one exception. If you--and everyone you're dining with--have HUGE appetites, you may want to go right now and order the all-you-can-eat option. For the entire time we were at our table, a young (and surprisingly svelte) couple at the table next to us received an apparently endless parade of plates heaped with all manner of delicious-looking food. Plate after plate after plate. Because... all you can eat.

Recently, my sense of taste brought me to Pho Char, a nearby restaurant that I had previously passed by many times without going inside. On a quiet Thursday night, curiosity finally took control and we made the decision to try it. We were welcomed by an atmosphere that was almost Zen-like when we arrived. But because it was the middle of the week, I was willing to overlook the seating area's appearance of a ghost town as a potential warning sign. We ordered a variety of foods, including fried rice with vegetables (we asked for Thai spicy), summer rolls, and dumplings. A crisp and energizing bite like the summer roll, which made a commendable debut, would be ideal on a hot summer day. The dumplings, on the other hand, were an underwhelming supporting act and had a curiously store-bought performance flavor. The combination fried rice, the pièce de résistance, was a visual spectacle but sadly tasteless. It came in an oddly shaped bowl and featured shreds of chicken breast and enormous shrimp. The culinary group, though, fell short of expectations. The shrimp, despite their size, lacked flavor, and the chicken was as flavorless as a cardboard cutout. Richer flavors of chicken thighs and smaller, more flavorful shrimp would have greatly enhanced the dish. Ironically, the star of the show was the rice itself, whose perfectly aged texture hinted at the use of day-old rice. In a previous trip, the pho also failed to impress me because it lacked flavor, just like the fried rice did. While Pho Char checks all the right boxes for a calm atmosphere, its food selection falls short. It resembles a beautifully wrapped gift that is disappointing when unwrapped. BEST PHO IN TOWN! -Mic Drops- Well, what are you waiting for. Go get some now. The staff is quick, always there if you need something extra, the food is amazing, and the place is always clean. My personal favorite is the Combo with the flank, round eye, and brisket. The portions are perfect to fill even a bigger guy like myself. And if you have room, or need to cool off because of the extra spice you may have put in, you can always grab one of their awesome smoothies. (I forget the name, but I like the green one.) Don't waste your time on any other Pho spot in Manassas, they don't hold up. read more

I loved their other restaurant located in Annandale they offered many vietnamese dishes . I usually don't get the pho here since I favor more of their other dishes such as the pork with rice but I got the pho . It was actually very good and i finished the whole bowl which i normally dont when i get a large but i did today perhaps i was hungry . Overall , it was good and now that it's even closer to where I live , i will definately come back! read more

Really only 2 people were in charge for busing ,serving and managing all floor space. But everyone was happy and everything went smooth! I had Yum Woon Sen salad with glass noodles,seafood and vegetables. Addictive sauce!!! I asked for milder spiciness and this was perfect. We also got All for 4 special rolls plate for 60 dollars ,which was nice. My only complaint was that in all rolls was minimal amount of raw fish. I think if you offer like tasting plate with your special rolls it would be better to showcase variety,instead they were kind of similar with shrimp tempura and some toppings.
