I came during lunch and got the Rice Alley signature ramen ($15). It came out in about 10 minutes and it was quite good! The pork was very tender and savory. Broth was delicious. Noodles were cooked good, al dente with good play to them. My only critique would be if the eggs could've had a bit more soy sauce infusion. Other than that service was very friendly and overall atmosphere was great for a lunch sit down. I'd definitely come back! This family owned restaurant has been in Haymarket for years and yet tonight was the first time for me and the family. Honestly, years ago I tried Ramen and wasn't thrilled. I AM a HUGE fan of Vietnamese Pho noodle soup and eat it weekly. Nonetheless, we thought we would give it a try. I ordered the signature Ramen, which had a few thin slices of Char Siu pork. My wife had the chicken Ramen which had the fried chicken nuggets on the side. Daughter ordered two rolls of sushi. After tasting both my Ramen and my wife's, I was reminded why I prefer Pho! Not much flavor. The chicken nuggets from my wife's dish had a weird off taste; like old cooking oil perhaps. The sushi was just okay. I really wanted to love our meal and help support the place and I will return to try their Hibachi offerings. So, with tax and tip and no alcohol, $63 out the door. Customer service matters. I placed an online order and picked it up. The man behind yhe counter was so rude I almost walked out. No eye contact. Mo smile. Just wanted to know why I was there. I politely told him I have placed an online order He quickly barked back that I would have to wait because they have a big table to wait on. I repeated the fact that O had already ordered online and I was there to pick up my order. He rudely gestured to a single bag on a table across the room. Then shouted at me, "What Name? What Name!!!!: That's enough for me. Never going there again. Have some manors and speak to people with respect...especially if they are your customers. We had takeout from here on a Sunday at lunchtime. The ramen with tonkatsu was good. The ingredients fit the ramen were delivered in a separate compartment from the rich ramen broth. The tonkatsu was in a separate container which kept it crispy instead of part of the ramen. read more

Given that their menu consists of mostly sushi, ramen and Japanese food, they are really a Japanese cuisine and less of a pan Asian place. This place is not run by Japanese people and it shows in their food. For me, miso soup always sets the tone for a Japanese meal and I could tell by the color that it was rather watery even before I tasted it. The poke bowl was a-ok and I didn't particularly care for the taste of the mixes fishes. Shrimp tempura wasn't much better and I didn't care for the dipping sauce that it came with - didn't have much of a flavor. An excellent place for authentic ramen and hibachi! I liked that this was a family-run business. Everything was seasoned well and the food was all fresh. Interesting location, in a strip plaza tucked away from traffic. A cute shop but it's a plain looking place. Not much adorned on the walls except for some colorful prints of Japan. The ambiance was lacking to making this a cozy personalized Japanese affect. While the menu is extensive, from ramen to sushi and some poke bowls. I came for ramen and I was not disappointed. The broth was flavorful but not as intense I usually like it. It came with the wonderful additions of seaweed, and vegetables. The noodles were a hit. I enjoyed this with a pot of green tea. After discovering the existence of Rice Alley in Piedmont Center Plaza (a Chinese restaurant used to occupy this space) - we decided to check it out - and order some food to go. I ordered a Tuna Poké Bowl, and sides of pork dumplings and egg rolls. My friend Alex ordered a Ramen Bowl. Our food took about 20 minutes to come up - so we hung out at a table (masked up) and chilled until our food was ready. We got the food home and everything was tasty. I would like to see an option on the menu for substituting greens for rice on the Poké Bowl. I'll have to ask about that next time I come in. Plenty of seating inside, Staff was very nice. Went back yesterday 7/9 to have dinner. We ordered 2 different sushi rolls and they were dry and tiny. I had the gluten free noodles not because I'm gluten free but because of the different ingredients the soup had, it was very bland so I decided to add their spicy chili oil, I think it was super expired because it tasted like straight up old oil not to mention I left with stomach rumbling. My husband ordered chicken hibachi, it wasn't great, he said it was horrible I think it was just not good. Service was bad, the lady that was our server not only was her English very bad but she was super slow and kept forgetting to bring stuff out. I hope they step it up. read more

A hidden gem in Haymarket... this restaurant is located in a small strip mall and it's located towards the back of the strip mall. The restaurant ambience is utilitarian but the food is the star of the show. We came as a big group and all of our orders came out fast and they were delicious. I highly recommend their beef gyudon, their Tonkatsu Ramen, their hibachi dishes are good - even as a combination meal. The fried rice in the hibachi meals are also up to par. Ate here with friends and then again with my dad recently, and both times were great! Ramen was delicious and flavorful and the donkatsu crispy in the way I love! Tsukkemen was also very good with the pork broth being phenomenal! Service was nice and quick with food coming out soon after we ordered. Stopped in with a friend for lunch. The place is a bit difficult to get to with a lot of construction around and in the middle of a new construction neighborhood. However the restaurant is cute with a lot of spread out seating and the place seems very clean. We both got ramen. They were good. I gave 4 stars only because the ramen wasn't that great and was a little bland. Again, still very good but not great so not sure I'd come back just for the ramen.
