This is a pretty small no-frills restaurant tucked in the middle of an older congested strip mall. But it is known locally in the Vietnamese community as a great cheap eats place, so it made a slot in our 3-day Toronto Asian foodie tour. I'll go with a 4.5 star review rounded up to 5 for our lunch here. The big draw is the great value for authentic and delicious Vietnamese. Definitely not the atmosphere. Our party of 6 was able to get one of the three longer tables after a short 5 minute wait at about 1:00pm. Folks are packed in here and the tight, no-frills setting drops my rating 1/2 star. Service was as attentive as possible by a somewhat harried staff. Everyone there was Vietnamese except us, but we're close enough I suppose. We ordered their dinner for 4 for $60.95 CD and added a couple of dishes. The plentiful dinner for 4 included: Mango salad Deep fried chicken wings Vietnamese catfish sour soup Shrimp in a clay pot Sauteed shrimp with veggies The extra dishes were vermicelli with grilled pork and crispy spring rolls ($13.95 CD) and goi cuon spring rolls ($6.24 CD). Total pre-tip bill was $91.40 CD or $67.70 USD. It's cash or debit card only and my US debit card didn't take so it's effectively cash only for Americans fyi. Amazingly great deal here on a lot of delicious Vietnamese dishes! Thumbs up for a tasty hole-in-the-wall experience!

One of the top spots for authentic eats. The staff is very friendly and the prices are quite reasonable. The chicken wings are a must order. Seriously the best fish sauce marinade. The portions are generous, especially their rice dishes. I personally don't eat bun mung vit and not many places offer it but it is also a highly recommended dish here. They are known for their 7 beef dish so I'm already anticipating my next visit!

I had lunch here with my parents on the recommendation of my dentist's sister. Overall, I felt that the food was ok but not exceptional. However, it should be mentioned that we did not order the dishes that she suggested, except for 1 side order. Service was quick, polite, and efficient. We were offered our choice of hot or iced tea as soon as we sat down. We were given menus with a piece of paper and a pen to write down our orders. We chose iced tea. The tea is unsweetened. We ordered some spring rolls to start. You get 3 per order for $4.95. We also got a side order of beef wrapped in betel leaves (bo la lot) (6 for $3.50) and a side order of beef sausage (bo mo chai) (6 for $3.50). I got the Hu Tieu My Tho (tapioca noodle soup from the town of My Tho). It was $8.95. My parents both got the vermicelli. My dad got the vermicelli with shredded pork skin (bi), shrimp on a sugar cane (chao tom), and meat patties (nem nuong). His dish was $9.95. My mom got the vermicelli with grilled beef and spring rolls ($8.95). I was disappointed that my noodle soup did not contain any fish balls nor ground pork, like this soup traditionally has. It only had 2 shrimps, 2 quail eggs, and a few slices of fatty pork. The pork was way too fatty for me to even eat. I gave it all to my dad. The tapioca noodles were nice and chewy, and the broth was fragrant. The broth wasn't too salty nor too oily. It had some fried shallots in it, as well as some green onions and leaf lettuce. My dish was ok, but I wasn't thrilled about it. My parents enjoyed their vermicelli. The vermicelli was the thin type, which my mom prefers over the thick type. She also loved that the vermicelli was really hot (in temperature). I had a taste of her grilled beef and I liked that it was lean and flavourful. My mom felt it was a little dry and too little in quantity, but still liked her meal. My dad is a man of few words, so his only comment was that it was good, lol. The side orders of beef (one of the dishes my dentist's sister recommended) were good, but they were really tiny. Each piece was smaller than my thumb (and I have been told by jewellers that I have the hands of an 9 year old). Both types of beef were really flavourful, but a little too greasy. They forgot our order of spring rolls and brought them out at the end. They were undercooked and not as golden as the ones in my mom's vermicelli bowl. They were still crispy and satisfactory, but I've had better. In case you are curious, the other dishes that were recommended to us were the hot pot and the fish sauce marinated fried chicken wings. Decor is simple, and staff were nice. It was busy. Lots of people came for takeout. The restaurant is in a little plaza. There's some free parking out front.

Restaurant itself is quite small especially since the built a path made with tables to ensure 1 path in and 1 path out. Only tried this for takeout but from our friend's recommendations this is the "go to spot" I cant wait to try more things the restaurant has to offer.

I have been coming here frequently the food is still good. Their top menu items is the 7 beef hot pot and the fish sauce fried chicken wings. I ate pho their recently and it hit home as authentic tasting and oh so good in winter or rainy weather. This place can get very busy during peak hours so say and lunch and dinner its packed in there. The servers all friendly and get your food right to you. The pho is goood here so get that!!! Will be coming back A++

My family and I (4 people) went here for a Sunday dinner and it was crowded! The place is a bit smaller than most pho restaurants but it packs a full flavour punch We got spring rolls, fried chicken in fish sauce, their hot pot special (seafood), and 2 orders of Vietnamese pancakes (banh xeo) - which cost ~$90 after tax Everything that we ordered was delicious and quickly prepared despite a full house! Their house special hotpot (seafood) stood out for me - savoury and a hint of sour to the broth and the seafood included toger shrimps, calamari, and fish (not the cheap kind either). Tons of bursting flavours with some that I don't get to try that often. However, the portions are small. As well, on the day we went they didn't have beverages available except for tea and water Clean washrooms

This place is a smaller restaurant, very casual vibes but the food and service we received was great. We tried there seafood hotpot based on all the positive reviews we saw and it did not disappoint! The soup base they used was was super flavourful and complimented the seafood really nicely, also I liked that it wasn't too greasy. We tried the fish sauce chicken wings as well which were pretty good too. Overall, the place had tasty food, quick and friendly service, will definitely be back!

Came in for dinner as we heard their chicken wings fried in fish sauce is delicious. Ordered the Bo 7 Mon (Beef 7 Ways) and Family Combo (for two) as well as their chicken wings. Everything came out piping hot and delicious! The wings came with coconut sticky rice which was super delicious. However, the sour soup which came with the Family combo was extremely salty to the point we couldn't even eat it. Service was quick and attentive. We will definitely be back when we're craving a different take on traditional chicken wings.

A friend introduced this authentic Vietnamese restaurant to us. Unlike your typical pho joint, this location serves the 7 course beef meal as well as various hot pot items. This was a new experience for me and I plan to bring my parents back to try some of the other items. The 7 course beef meal includes: Rare beef you cook yourself in a vinegary broth Satay beef stir fry Beef congee 3 kinds of beef appetizers: minced beef wrapped in betal leaves, beef skewers and another type that looks like sausage Beef slices and cucumber salad served with shrimp crackers. The meal comes with a huge plate of veggies and herbs that has guava and apple slices that I've never seen in other locations. The meal is meant for 2 people. The table space does get tight if you order multiple meals. Also tried their iced vietnamese coffee - a bit too sweet for my taste.

Pho Cuu Long Mien Tay is a Vietnamese restaurant located in a plaza on the Northwest corner of Jane and Sheppard in Toronto. I use to frequent this restaurant when it was located in a small strip plaza on St.Clair Ave West and usually it was the busiest one with two or three other Vietnamese restaurants located in the same strip plaza. In the Vietnamese community they are known for making amazing fish sauce deep fried chicken wings with sticky rice ($9.25 plus tax) and Bo 7 Mon ($32.00 plus tax) which is essentially translated to seven courses of beef. Their vermicelli, rice and pho dishes are not bad but the fish sauce chicken wings and Bo 7 Mon are the standouts. Not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants offer the Bo 7 Mon option in Toronto. I went on a recent Saturday afternoon to their new location and ordered the fish sauce chicken wings with sticky rice ($9.25 plus tax) and the Bo 7 Mon ($32.00 plus tax), it was more than enough food for two people. The fish sauce chicken wings are amazing, the wings are deep fried and because of the fish sauce makes the skin sticky, they have bits of fried garlic bits attached to it. Perfectly cooked on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside but the fish sauce and fried garlic bits gives it a great flavour. Easily can compete with any great chicken wing place in Toronto. The Bo 7 Mon which is seven courses of beef served Vietnamese style. Rare beef hotpot, beef in tropical leaves, bbq beef rolls, sautéed beef, beef salad. shaking beef, beef congee. They give you Vietnamese rice paper, vegetables and vermicelli. You wet the rice paper, add beef, vermicelli and vegetables roll it up and dip it in the mam nem dipping sauce or fish sauce. Really well done, fulfilling and nice balance of dishes with great flavours. I definitely recommend Pho Cuu Long Mien Tay and as I mentioned earlier their pho, vermicelli or rice dishes won't stand out in comparison to a lot of other good Vietnamese restaurants in Toronto but their fish sauce deep fried chicken wings with sticky rice and Bo 7 Mon (seven courses of beef) are the standouts and worth going to the restaurant to try these two dishes.

I used to love it here! It has changed quite a bit since it has moved to a new location. It still tastes great though. If you love Vietnamese food, you have got to try it here. Lots of different options with food in comparison to other places. Pros: - Parking: Tons of parking in the plaza! - Food: The food is great! Lots of options and variations of Vietnamese food. If you are nervous about ordering, ask if Chi Mai is in. She is really great and will help you with all of your ordering. She recommends lots of great options and is so helpful. The food is great for sharing with multiple people - Price: Keep in mind that eating here is not like your typical pho bowl so it will cost more then that but you are getting something very different. I think the prices are very fair for the amount you get. - Picture worthy: The food looks great in pictures! Cons: - Consistency: Unfortunately, I have found that the food is not as consistent. I've been eating here since their first location on Eglinton to this new one. The food changes every time I come. Sometimes it is fresh and good and some times the taste is off. Foods I love: - Fish Sauce Chicken Wings with Sticky Rice (Sticky rice is great but you can order with or without) - Vermicelli with Spring Rolls, Beef & Shredded Pork (Lots of variations with this dish, feel free to pick different toppings) - Bo 7 Mon (7 options for Beef - Rare Beef Hotpot, Beef in Tropical Leaves, BBQ Beef Rolls, Sautéed Beef, Beef Salad. Shaking Beef, Beef Congee, you may be able to substitute one for something else, but you should ask the server just in case) - Bo Lalot (Beef Rolls with Tropical Leaves is fantastic! I love rolling these in rich rolls with vermicelli and vegetables.) I really like this place and will be back! So many variations for Vietnamese food and they do a great job, just hoping it will become consistent!

Amazing experience at this authentic Vietnamese restaurant cooked by Vietnamese people. When you come to these kinds of small family biz restaurants you have to be realistic with expectations and standards. I come from a family of restaurant owners so i know first hand that these people work hard. Anyways.. The staff, especially this one lady, was super jolly and enthusiastic. Her mannerism and smile may have made my experience even better. I am very big on professional mannerisms and genuineness in the food/restaurant industry.. example: even if the food sucks, the manners and politeness of waiters/waitresses can make you less angry about how crappy the food tasted...well It helps a little. Thankfully, in this case the food and service were both in sync ! Well done lady! It's not a " first date" kind of resto - definitely a family/ friend setting. Cash only. Main food highlights : We tried their famous and delicious fish sauce marinated chicken wings...only $7 for 7wings + sticky rice and small side salad! The "7 beef " dish is apparently very popular in the Vietnamese culture. It was good! ( see photos) This combo came with a tiny bowl of beef congee, diced beef, a big platter of assorted veggies ( for your DIY spring rolls- fun!) and obviously 7 different kinds of beef. Everything was great except seating. It was a teeny bit crammed but manageable ! We 100% will revisit and recommend.

We walked in and were greeted by a friendly few staff members who showed us to our table. The decor inside was modern, it was clean and the ambiance was great. As soon as we sat down we were brought hot drinks of our choice to warm us up. It took a while before we settled on our meal choices after much discussion. We have some vegetarians and some non-vegetarians in our family so it was nice to see that vegetarians could be accommodated here. All of the meals turned out to be very tasty from our appetizers to our mains. Spring Rolls** were crispy, tasty and served with a sweet-spicy sauce. These were the outstanding showstoppers of the entire meal or at least a few of us agreed that they were our favourite choice. Vegetarian Cold Rolls (small) were crunchy, refreshing and served with a peanut sauce with roasted peanuts on top. I was told that my homemade version of vegetarian cold rolls was even better than the restaurant version since I include more tofu but this restaurant version came in a close second place. Stir-fried Vegetables with Tofu and Steamed Rice was very super flavourful, as was the veggie soup broth. The main vegetarian dish had a bit of kick to it, lots of black pepper, and a tangy spicy taste which was almost too spicy for one family member's simple palate. Nothing a bowl full of rice couldn't fix. What would make it a 5 star rating would be if they had included a bit more tofu, otherwise it was a very good dish. Grilled Pork Chop with Rice was wonderfully delicious. The veggies made the dish eye catching. The flavour packed broth was delightful. It was served with a drizzle of oil of green onions which when combined with freshly steamed rice make the perfect trifecta. Stir-Fry Rice Noodles with Seafood (which had squid, fish balls, shrimp and possibly scallops) was very well received by one hungry man. He didn't mind that the vegetarians had more veggies on their plates than him. Stir-Fry Rice Noodles* with Vegetables had a great colourful presentation and tasted very good, according to another. Once again their only other comment about the dish was that they wished there was more tofu in it. What would make it a 5 star rating would be if they had included a bit more tofu, otherwise it was also a good dish. The staff were more than accommodating to the requests of grandparents who needed to relocate tables to stay warm during this cold winter season. My family very much appreciated our visit to this restaurant. Fantastic hospitality. Great service and friendly personable staff.

We ordered their most popular beef rib pho. In terms of meat, I don't know if we got the scraps, but we had a huge additional bowl with a bone of tendon. I love tendon. While the meat on the ribs are a bit more skimp than other places I've had maybe because it's whatever they have left. But I didn't mind since they added ample amount of tendon! You either love it or hate it, but I love tendon and we ordered this specifically because they mentioned they will add a bone of tendon. Not sure if it's in all bowls or just what they had left. It was certainly worth the money with the offer. While we picked and cut away all the tender tendon pieces, there are some connective tendon pieces that are still bit stiff, I mean I try to pressure cook it bit more later along with my ingredients when I got home to get the adjoining tendons between the bones and made another collagen rich soup / broth. We also ordered a broken rice dish with chicken and it was good too. We had a lot of leftovers and the next day the soup broth did thicken up indicating a good amount of bone broth. Overall service was great and they even had the FIFA game playing on the screen. Definitely a spot we'll add to our rotation.
