I just had an awful experience here. The food is normally good, but today I was not impressed with the service. I ordered my appetizer, chicken satay which was ok. Once my app came out, I ordered my entree. 25 mins later, no salad! I go up to register to get it to go and pay, only to find out that it was never even put in! I was livid! I got an apology but no free coupon, comp meal nothing! And they weren't even that busy!From now on I will call ahead and pick up to go. If you're on a lunch break, this isn't the place to dine in. The food was okay. The service was slow...seemed like there were only two waitresses for the dine-in orders and it was a busy night. the booth tables were dirty when we first walked in, they were not busy when we first got there. It is seat yourself but they didn't have a sign that says that so we stood there looking around trying to figure out if we should just sit since no one said anything. We placed our order and waited for awhile for the pho to come out, other pho places we have been too did not take as long for soup. You get a good amount of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and lime as a side to add to the pho. The soup itself was okay, not the best we have ever had, but good enough. When we finished we waited a bit for the waitress to come back so we could get the check, she didn't, so my husband walked up to the front to ask and they said they would bring it. Waited at the table for like 5-10 minutes before our waitress came back by and asked if we needed a check...so my husband followed her back up to the front because he wanted to go ahead and pay it, didn't want to end up waiting again for the girl to come back and pick up the payment. Ok here we go. We got here about 6:15pm on Oct 19th. Tonight I hand a taste for one of my favorite restaurants, Pho Delight, #PhoDlite in Waldorf, MD. WHAT THA PHO. Couldn't believe how bad this visit was. It was not any more busy than any other time I have been there. We should've turned around before we finished cleaning off our table (Issue #1). Silly us sat down anyway, waiter comes and we placed our orders. 2 Thai Iced Teas, Crispy Spring Rolls, Summer Spring Rolls, Pho D'lite and Curry Rice with Grilled Shrimp. The Thai Iced Tea was watered down, like it was pre-made with the ice and placed in the fridge to keep cool. Shortly after the appetizers came the check was placed on the table..., I was like oh um we ordered food also, not just appetizers, the waiter says oh yeah I know, I was just getting you your check...? OK. Well about 20 minutes after we sat and ordered another table was seated beside us. Wouldn't you know it, they ordered Pho D'lite also. How about they got their Pho about 5 minutes after we had gotten the Curry Rice w Grilled Shrimp and no Pho D'lite (and oh by the way that was barely room temperature). I called the waiter and said "Umm can you take the Pho D'lite off my bill, I am good." He apologized then asked the Mgr on duty to remove it from our bill. When we finally get the bill a little after 7:30, the Mgr apologized and said he took 20% off and told me on our next visit let him know and he would give us a discount, that was cute but ummm, NO. We happend to be there a year ago and met the owner, who was very nice, we both talked about Thailand and other foods. If I had his number tonight I woulda called him and said come do a quick drive by. This place is no where near where it used to be. Manager on Duty, thanks but no thanks. I'd rather pay full price for great food than a discounted price for bad/no food, thank goodness for Mission BBQ in Waldorf. Good, hot, quality food. Dear Mr. Owner, please come back and spray some Act Right in this formerly great spot in Waldorf. I'd hate to have to drive all the way to DC for some good Pho. read more

Pho isn't bad here... I liked the broth and the bowls they use for the noodle. However, I'm giving it a 3 star because the pho was good. Service was not too bad. I went around 4-5pm. They weren't busy, when I walked in, there was only one other table there. The summer roll was the let down of this restaurant. I freaking love summer rolls. I did not know you can screw them up so bad (since I've made it myself before, but I am no professional). The lettuce to shrimp and noodles ratio was terrible. It may as well just be a lettuce roll. The shrimp was cut in half so you probably get 1 and a half shrimp in each roll. Also the shrimp was super tiny. The sauce that came with the summer roll was pretty much hoisin sauce with crushed peanuts on top. I've had real peanut sauce (I'm addicted to the sauce) and what they serve is definitely not peanut sauce. I took one bite of the summer roll and could not eat it anymore. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. We have been comming here for years and have always loved the food. The customer service has always been kinda subpar though. Tonight when we came in we were asked if we were picking up take out and when we said no the girl rolled her eyes. This was just the beginning of our great customer service. Our order was taken and our food came out pretty quick. We ate about half the food we ordered and was going to take the rest home. The girl brought the check and dissappeared.She never asked if we would like some containers for our leftover food. When we finally got her attention to let her know we had a groupon to use and we needed to go containers she tells me "I'm sorry if you want to use it it has to be printed". I have used groupons several times at this location and have never had to print them out. They always take the code and mark as redeemed on my phone. She then goes on to tell me a lady yelled at her last time, because management told her they couldn't take hers because it was not printed. I told her I have never been told this before. She asked me to write the code down on the receipt and took it to her manager. She comes back with a new receipt that says "Antonio $5 cash discount" and walks away. The groupon was for $30.lol When she comes back I asked her if she even entered the code in, because it was for $30 not $5. She then rolls her eyes and brings the receipt back to her manager who does this time take the $30 off. She comes back with third receipt with attitude and still no to go containers. It seems like this business tries to draw people in with groupons and then tries to come up with all kinds of reasons not to let you use them. If you don't want to take them don't offer them. Its that easy.Also hire some people that actually want to deal with the public and want to work. read more

I called in to make a carry out order and the female on the phone was extremely rude and rushing me off the phone! She cut me off multiple times in the middle of my order instructions saying "ok and anything else"! I had a feeling my order was going to be f***ed up and when I got there it was! Maybe if she listened instead of rudely cutting me off I could have picked up my food and left instead of having to wait extra time for my food to be fixed.... I asked for sate sauce which is free at any other pho restaurant but I was charged extra for it because she thought I asked for the peanut satay sauce that goes with the chicken satay appetizer.......... in total I paid $17 for pho, spring rolls and an iced coffee..... that's pretty pricey compared to the normal pho restaurants I eat at in NoVA.... also the viet iced coffee tasted terribly and burnt.... spring rolls weren't fresh and the pho was alright...... I hate to have to write a bad review about a place this is my first bad review I've ever written but the rude attitude from the female employee threw me all the way off..... I really advise you not to waste your money here...... the food is not authentic viet pho and the customer service is trash plus the inside is extremely filthy...... this will be the LAST time I eat PHO in Waldorf!!!!! read more

Don't you just love walking into a dirty restaurant and being ignored for 20 minutes??? Me neither. So we left. No one even said, sorry we're busy, be right with you. Nothing. It was like we were invisible so we went to Silver Diner where the service is always impeccable and the food rocks plus the restaurant is nice and clean. Will never come back here again. The Pho broth was extremely bland, the chicken was pulled apart with only a minimal amount was in my bowl. I also noticed the jalapeño peppers were brown. I'd like to consider myself somewhat of a Pho connoisseur. So perhaps I had too high of standard for their Pho. But the broth has a disgusting, lingering after taste. I'm not sure what it is or how they prepare the broth but it is the worst broth I've ever had. I have to add lots of Sirracha and Hoisin just to get it to taste decent; but it still doesn't quite completely mask that phantom-funky after taste. The summer rolls and pad thai are decent though. The staff is great as well as the atmosphere! It's just unfortunate the Pho is crap. So essentially, if you decide to eat here, order anything other than the Pho. read more

This was my first time and last must I add time eating here. There was a fly in the food when we went to eat the noodles. When we brought this to the waitresses attention she looked annoyed and gave a nonchalant sorry. Then had an attitude because we didn't want to pay for it. Then when I payed for those items she kept some of my change and said we didn't have enough change in the drawer. I went with my friend and her wife and they said this was not the first incident that left then and little iffy about this place. she said their first time they gave her wife peanuts on top of her when she asked for no peanuts. This was my third trip to this amazing restaurant. The broth and noodles are very soothing on a chilly day. The Thai basil and limes add that sour earthiness I experienced in Asia. I wasn't too fond of the jalapenos, the heat and flavor are different from that of Thai chilis. I think that would have been better. Please be careful if you are allergic to seafood and nuts. You can still enjoy a good meal, just let your waiter know. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. We're in Southern Maryland, where most of the restaurant choices have always been some big chain, offering similar choices. So, embrace the flavors and many cuisine choices offered. Disclaimer.....I frequented this place twice before writing this review. Each time I entered the store, it reminds me of my teen-age son's bedroom in that each of the uncleared tables looked like his bed side table. When being seated, the server will just move a pile of dishes from one table to another. The Pho left little to be desired in taste. My family loves this place. It's a close by, extremely quick East Asian restaurant. Their pho is surprisingly really good. The portions are really big and will get you full. Saw some of the reviews on Yelp, so my son and I decided on a lunch of pho. More like PHO-NEY! The broth is the biggest component of pho and the broth was obviously out of a can! Pho broth is clear and aromatic. The broth in our pho bowl was cloudy and salty (just like out of a can). On top of that, the noodles were either old or not cooked. There is anther place to get pho in Waldorf (Joe's Noodle House) that is not my favorite pho, but Joe's puts Pho D'Lite to shame. Also, Pho D'Lite doesn't serve spring rolls (pretty much a staple in a Vietnamese restaurant. They serve some variation they call an egg roll -- it ain't an egg roll! The egg roll was almost burned, was kind of soggy inside, and didn't taste quite Vietnamese. We ate the egg rolls but opted out of the pho. I asked the waiter (good kid) if there was anyone Asian in the kitchen or if it's all mexicans. He said they have no Asians. They don't don't have any mexicans who can cook asian either. My recommendation -- go to Joe's in Waldorf, Saigon Noodle House in Bowie, or if you really want great pho go to Pho Bowl near Alexandria. For the yelpers who rave about this place -- let me know when you want pho and we'll make a trip to Alexandria (I'll drive). You'll never eat the pho-ney in Waldorf again, I promise. read more

I have been a customer of this Pho D'Lite for years. I haven't complained once before. But this was the first time I came here in some months, & this was the worst experience I've had yet. Coming in, the entire restaurant was a disaster, not ONE table clean, & there was only two tables sat at the time, so mind you, it was not busy, it may have been earlier but it wasn't at all at this point. None of the employees were eager to clean the tables either, although it's supposed to be a seat yourself situation, there was no where we wanted to seat ourself. One of the three employees finally cleaned up a spot for us, but gave us no utensils as we were seated like they normally do, for a party of 7 (3 kids, 4 adults). Service was slow as ever for their being no tables. The server never asked us if we wanted anything else to drink besides water, typically servers offer other beverages to raise their check average but not this time, which is odd for a whole party. Laziness. The server was polite, took the order, but did not prep for our meals. We were never served the bean sprouts/basil (fixings) set up before the meal nor once the food arrived, until I got up and asked for it. The server forgot to order our appetizers of two orders of the butter wings, I reminded him & he brought out one order after we had all finished our meals. We were never once checked on. I asked to speak with a manager & was told there was not one on duty. The bathrooms were disgusting, had to ask for toilet paper, & you'd think after letting them know there was none that they'd check the bathrooms. Mind you they also had all their cleaning chemicals out which is dangerous for any children or anyone at that going into the restroom. But no. Instead they continued to laugh & play around on their phones, hiding from take out guests & their tables. No apologies were given when a complaint was made. The kitchen chef/manager offered us 20% off the check, which is nothing, compared to how terrible the experience was. Mind you that's their family & friends discount anyways so that was nothing to what we deserved. Sad to see this place go down so badly. Mind you the food was very average compared to how it used to be. While observing as well, we witnessed take out guests complain about their orders being messed up yet none of the employees seemed to actually care, moved at the pace of a snail. I also work in the food industry/customer service & have never seen servers really not care about the money or the experience. Stopped in for a quick bite after working out at the World Gym at Capitol Club house. Walked in and first thing I noticed was how run down and dirty the place was. Trash on the floor, unwiped tables, but they were super busy. I seated myself near a window. My server was a super sweet young lady who immediately asked me for drink order. Sweet tea was brought within what seemed like seconds, limes in the side. Perfect! Ordered a standard PHO, no tripe. Literally one minute later she's bringing it to my table! Wow!!! The broth was hot, abundant vegs on the side, more limes! Sweet! Meat sliced super thin and tender. I put some sriaracha, jalapeños and bean sprouts in. Totally in business. The broth wasn't perfect, but it definitely wasn't too salty. Could use a little more flavor tho. Lite, healthy, cheap eats served up quick by a nice server. I will add the staff did tidy up during my meal as business died down. All in all not a bad experience. I would definitely go back for a fast meal. read more
