We came into town - 4 FSU undergrads and me - to relax from all that has been going on. It was a Bikers weekend event so every restaurant we looked at only had parking for bikes. We found this little place right next to an adult novelties shop but it was the only one open with parking for cars near us. We could not have been happier. Excellent service from start to finish. The spring rolls were not what we were expecting at all. We ordered the traditional which was missing the pork. The peanut sauce was not great. It had no flavor and was super runny. The pho broth was really good! It was a very hearty and flavorful broth. The service was lacking. Good considering the location, can see they have the techniques for the legitness when you need that Viet fix. The pho broth can be definitely LESS sweet - it was the sweetest pho broth ever had. I understand this is the South where they make everything sweet, was too much Southern love in that beef broth tho. Rice dishes were a bit greasier than most Viet places offer; the excess pork fat used to cook the eggs made it just too greasy and not appetizing. In a city packed with heavy barbeque and grilled food, my family wanted to get some lighter Asian food for dinner, which brought us to Pho Express. There were several Asian families eating in the restaurant: not wanting to assume, but it was an indicator that the food there must be pretty genuine and good. And indeed it was. We got a small plain beef pho (Pho Khong P6), a large spicy beef pork pho (Bun Bo Hue), and a pork slices & fried egg platte. Don't be misled by the sizes for the pho (Small, Large, and XLarge), cause a "small" bowl was filling for a relatively light eater, and a large bowl was more than enough for a big eater like me. Can't imagine having the XL bowl (unless you're really craving). All of the dishes were amazing. First of all, the smell in the restaurant had our stomachs growling already. And the first taste totally got us. The broth was flavorful, the spices were perfect, and the meat had great texture and came in abundant amounts. I will say I wasn't a fan of the noodles cause they were a bit too firm and broke easily, but that was only a minor inconvenience. The rice platte was good too, with juicy pork seasoned to just the right amount. A crisp fried egg and steamy white rice were great supplements to it. We finished our meal in no time. I forgot to mention the spring rolls - definitely get them! We ordered grilled pork rolls, and they were great appetizers for us. Overall, a fantastic meal for anyone who likes Vietnamese food and seeking a warm bowl of soupy pho. Conveniently good for young people seeking fun next door after a full stomach. The place is right next to a gentleman's club which I thought was funny. The space inside is okay, not ideal for a big group of family, there was 15 of us so we used up 3 separate tables. The spicy pho was really good (second time trying pho In my life) so I really can't compare to anything else. The spicy level was not that high maybe a 6/10. The overall rating for the pho was 8/10. The spring rolls were good give them a 7.5/10 My spicy mango boba was alright, I've had better boba unfortunately. I feel like all the best pho places are in the oddest locations- this one is right next to the strip club, but I promise you, if you have time, check it out. Cons- service is slow, inside dining is small. So go when it's not at peak times, if you can. Pho is spot on, though! We also got the short ribs which were awesome as well! This restaurant is located next to a gentlemen's club with friendly service. I'm Vietnamese and eat pho a few times a month and have had some not so great ones. However, this place takes the cake for worst pho I've ever had. We were vacationing in the area a few weeks back and ordered pho for my daughters who love pho. Their pho was weirdly sweet and did not have any pho flavor. Maybe too much MSG? Whatever it was, my daughters ended up not eating this after a taste and it ended up in the trash. I ordered the bun bo hue for myself and it too was bad. It did not have the elements necessary to be able to call it BBH. There were no shank meat, no pig's feet, nor cubed pig's blood...none of that. Further, the essence of BBH is the smell of lemongrass in the broth. That too was lacking. read more

So very cute when you walk up- lots of plants which sets it apart from most PCB eateries right away. Very welcoming when we walked in. We had eaten at the previous location and this location is what this place was meant to be. Very warm and inviting. Staff was friendly. We ordered tofu spring rolls, veggie pho, and the beef and lemongrass pho. Everything was delicious! I've never had tofu spring rolls but I love them! If you're a fan of tofu, try them. The peanut sauce is very good! He loved his beef and lemongrass pho- he didn't season it much, maybe a couple of jalapeño slices. He was too busy slurping as was I. My veggie pho came with the fried tofu on the side, which was a nice touch. The broth was incredible! The seasoning was perfect- I'm not a big salt gal and I don't like when it's used to replace flavors, but I could taste vegetables in the broth, so I was all in. Good veggie to noodle ratio and while I didn't add any lime to it, I used plenty of those jalapeños as well as cilantro and the mung bean sprouts for that crunch. All in all, easily the best pho on the beach! I can see why almost every table was full by the time we left (and people outside were waiting for our parking spot). Yum. Just yum. The location is small and adorable apparently everyone knows about this local restaurant. My boyfriend and I sat down for dinner with just about two tables having customers in them, then people started flooding in. A recommendation, get the bowl of pho. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the place could be cleaned up a bit, the inside is like a quick stop shop set up and not a restaurant. We had heard good things about Pho Express so we wanted to give it a try for lunch, around 11:00 am. We decided to split a Bahn Mi and a rice dish so we could both have a little of each along with an appetizer. 1) Crab Rangoons were hot and crispy but the bottom soaked with oil and maybe 1/2 teaspoon of filling, not much at all. 2) Beef Rice Dish - they were out of rice and asked if vermicelli noodles were okay. The beef was cut into 1/2 to 3/4 inch cubes and was so tough that we couldn't eat it. One cube was full of gristle. The dish itself was pretty much tasteless, we added hot pepper paste and it helped a little. The vermicelli noodles were cold. 3) Bahn Mi with Grilled Pork and it was tasty but rather small for the price. The bahn mi is the only reason I am giving the review 2 stars instead of 1. Last, the atmosphere, there are 4 tables and we sat at one near the tv which had a cartoon playing and the volume was loud enough to hear and the captions were on. After a couple of minutes my spouse looked at me and said "What is on TV? I just heard the F-bomb." Having a TV program like that playing on TV illustrates the unprofessional attitude of the staff. The pho was good and I appreciated that they served the tofu on the side so it didn't get soggy. I have been all over the US, and the world. The pho here is good to go, but the real winner is the Banh Mi sandwich. Go eat it, and you're welcome! I always get the P1. Pho with beef slices. And I will also get the pork banh mi. Between those two, I'm a happy guy. The family who runs the place is friendly and great. If you are expecting fast, don't come here. The staff was extremely friendly, the Pho & matcha boba was absolutely phenomenal. However, this was a highly unpleasant experience overall. I understand that different cultures have different standards of cleanliness & professionalism but this is an honest review of my perspective. 1st red flag, the location was sandwiched between a strip club & another sketchy shop. The entrance doors had layers of smudges from top to bottom, it looked as if it had not ever been cleaned. When inside the restaurant itself felt quite dirty. There were boxes stacked all the way up in the hallway to the restroom, I could barely open the door. They were out of a few high-demand items on the menu (egg rolls & jelly boba). Our rangoons came out cold, dirty silverware, & cluttered shelves. Photos thumbtacked to the wall... etc. As a customer, I would highly suggest them making a small investment & speak to a business consultant that could help improve this place. My personal thought would be to invest in a more appealing location, update the interior & maintain a tidy atmosphere during operation. During vacation me and my boyfriend would relax at a hotel in the area. There were plenty of times where we had our cravings for Vietnamese food and ate at Pho Pier but they unfortunately never left this satisfactory feeling after our meals. We mentioned this to fellow hotel guests and they immediately pointed us to this new pho restaurant located less than a few minutes away on foot. They could not stop drooling and talking about how amazing their bowls of pho and egg rolls were so not taking on their recommendation would have been insane! We arrived during a busy time, we had to wait in line for a while before we got seated though it was totally worth it. We were greeted by the lovely smiles of the owner and the adorable chef, the restaurant itself was small but gives off this home feeling. I ordered the charbroiled short ribs and my boyfriend ordered a large bowl of Pho Bo and my goodness! When the bowl came to the table, the broth smelled and tasted SO FRESH, I can't really describe it but you can tell that the chef put a lot into broth to help balance out the sides, noodles and beef. I couldn't help but sneak in some bites from my boyfriends bowl while savoring the taste of my short ribs plate. For once, we left feeling warm, with satisfied stomachs and definitely will be coming back for more! Highly recommend the Pho Bowls and Short Rib plates! We got in right as it opened and everything was so fresh and delicious. We wish the fresh spring rolls (not pictured) had more veggies and herbs because it was really plain without it, there were just lettuce, shrimp and noodles. The banh mi was a little small along with the spring rolls but they tasted good. The kids loved them and are picky because they like their grandma's the best, and will compare them. They gave them two thumbs up. The Vermicelli bowls and pho had plenty of vegetables and meat, very filling! My mom makes really good Pho and is a harsh critic, she will finish if it isn't good. She said the star anise was a little strong but not too over powering. We also ordered the Lavender and Taro Milk teas (forgot to take a picture of them) we ordered them frozen; the Lavender was so aromatic and refreshing, while the Taro was just okay. Our family of 7 were very happy with the service and food! The restaurant and kitchen was really small, big menu but highly efficient, we were impressed!
