My family and I went to this restaurant during a weekend trip to Panama City Beach and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. We are originally from New Orleans. Our waiter Courtney B. was fantastic the way she managed to have a few tables in the dining area as well as handling the bar! We felt very attended to and welcomed from the beginning. They also did a great job of anticipating our family's needs. We had no clue how great of an experience we would have just dropping in for some seafood lunch. We visited Shrimp Basket twice during our stay in Panama City Beach. The first night was honestly great we ordered the Seafood Basket, a burger, and a salad topped with grilled shrimp, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We left very happy and decided to come back again. Unfortunately, our second visit was a big disappointment. When we walked in around 4:30 PM, the sign at the door clearly mentioned Happy Hour from 2-5 PM. We ordered margaritas expecting the Happy Hour pricing, but we were charged full price. Even worse, the margarita tasted more like lemonade than an actual margarita there was barely any alcohol in it. I mentioned it to our waiter, and after speaking with the bartender, the response was basically that I could pay extra to add more alcohol. That's not acceptable for a $9+ drink that I couldn't even finish and left untouched on the table. Another issue was that our waiter didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu and instead kept steering us toward more expensive options. I mentioned that I liked the crab cake, and instead of suggesting the Seafood Basket that already included great options, he recommended creating a "two-choice seafood" plate at essentially the same base price then added an extra $3 charge for the crab cake, making the meal unnecessarily more expensive. It's disappointing because we genuinely enjoyed our first experience there, but after the second visit, I don't think we'll be returning. read more

After explaining to one waitress out on the patio that we had not even received water since we sat down, she explained that she would go get the mgt. 3. I believe the woman who next came to talk to us was our actual waitress and not mgt. 4. I explained that we have not been served, and she took only my order and walked away. There are 8 other family members at my table. 5. The other waitress who served our water had to take our order. While the food is edible and the seafood deals epic, I would never bring my family or myself back here because the service is terrible. We ordered Shrimp Basket on DoorDash so giving a little more grace due to that factor however we spent over $80 and we're pretty disappointed with the value as well as overall flavors. The kids flounder was very dry, bang-bang shrimp was a small portion and the coconut shrimp left a lot to be desired. I couldn't stomach the mahi dip because it was so fishy but that may be on me. Our favorite part of the whole meal were actually the pita chips that you use for the dip. Those were really tasty. All in all, we've had some great seafood here in PCB but unfortunately this was not it this time! we had a regrettable experience recently. myself, husband and kid came in to our beloved shrimp basket. we usually come on the weekend but we decided come in on a Tuesday, we usually get Duncan or Jason as our servers. Today we got to be greeted by Camilla. Things were fine we got our drinks and food in reasonable time but it was right after we got our food we had issues. The kitchen was playing music very loud during lunch, and one the songs was afromans colt 45. where and other bad tasting raps, this brought or vibe down and even my kid learned the N-word which made things worse cause he said it as Camilla came to our table and then that's when our service went from great to horrible, she spilt my husbands refill of water on me, she didn't say sorry just got towels. The coleslaw comes in what could easily be described as a thimble, and that was only 3/4 full! There was no real silverware to be found, only plastic to-go packs. My son and I had the seafood boil for two. It came with 3 half ears of corn and some boiled potatoes, lots of shrimp and a few sausages. We ordered it mild. It was pretty good but there was not a lot of taste to it. My husband had the smash burger cheeseburger and he said it was good. My daughter had the popcorn shrimp and fries and ate all of it! Food was really good, and reasonably priced for this area. Appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 kids meals (and a beer) for ~$90.

Take out isn't very good. It was really soggy but I'm sure if you ate it in house it'd be different.
