It was okay... I was really wanting some pho so thought I would try it out. The service was super sweet but the food wasn't incredibly fresh and the flavors were not authentic. They do have a lot for parking and their bathrooms were pretty clean.

I had such an odd experience here. I walked in the door, the music was on, and the sign said open; but there weren't any customers, there wasn't a waiter or waitress at the counter, and the lights were off on all of their menu boards. I could hear people in the back, but nobody was up front. Finally, a waiter came to the counter. I asked if they were open for dine-in, and he said "yes" and that I could sit anywhere. I sat down and he disappeared again. A little while later, he reappeared again with water, chop sticks, and housin sauce. I ordered and he disappeared again. I thought, there wasn't a chance I would ever receive my order, but, to my surprise, after 20 min my food came out. And it was amazing. The pho was great, the large size is really big. I could only finish about half of it. And I also ordered these pork buns, which were really well designed.

This place is so delicious and the service is awesome. My fiancé got the Banh Mi and I got the beef pho with brisket and steak. I am a bit of a critic when it comes to pho because I've been eating it my whole life in a lot of different places. This one definitely is high on my list. The brisket melted in your mouth and the broth was to die for. Definitely a great spot! The ambiance is also very clean and feels new. I don't know how long the business has been around but I hope it sticks around forever!

Excellent. Good was really good. Great portion size. More drink options would be great. Staff nice and friendly.

Ohhhhh.... This hits the spot on a cold day. The generous bowl of pho has nice flavour, lovely beefy brisket, tender tendon. Absolute yum! Only thing missing is basil and a little more heat. The atmosphere is bright and open, and the tunes are poppin'! I will be back.

Happy that there is a pho restaurant in Crown Point. I would personally rate this place at 3.5 but Yelp does not let me rate in 0.5 increments. Pho size/portion is good, however, the broth which is the most essential ingredient of pho tasted sour. I thought the brisket was good and went well with the pho but the meatballs tasted cheap and rubbery. The amount of veggies they gave is not sufficient for two people. I also did not like that they did not have the bottles of sriracha and hoisin sauce out for customers. They only had packets of sauce. Waiter/cashier guy in the front had good customer service. The taro boba is mediocre. Also, the straw they gave us didn't have a sharp end to it so it was difficult to pierce the plastic on top of the boba cup to drink.

Best pho I've ever had. Service is always good and the teas are tasty too. May lack a little in ambiance, but the food makes up for it.

I ordered the Smashburger because the server told me it was the best burger in town. It may have been the best burger in town because I have nothing to compare it to, but it was not good. It was the special for the day. It was $15 for the burger and fries. I ordered it without onions. It came with a lot of shredded lettuce and sauce between the bottom bun and the burger. I was not a fan of the amount of sauce that came with this burger. The burger itself did not have any flavor. It looked like there was some pepper in the meat, but I could not taste anything. The brioche bun disintegrated in my mouth after each bite. My experience with a bun like this is it was either frozen or it is stale. Not sure why the bun was bad since it was their special that day. I chose poorly with a burger. Every other time I went, I got the Yakisoba noodles with short rib ribs. The noodles with the short ribs are the best in town and probably the best in Northwest Indiana.

Blockhead definitely delivered on the food and the vibes. It was busy when we arrived, but we were still able to grab a table for two on the patio. The host didn't seem too friendly, but our waitress made up for that with quick service and solid recommendations. Although this is a brewery, the cocktail menu had so many fun options to choose from, so I opted for the mango sticky rice cocktail (I forget the exact name). It was delicious! My husband ordered the Two Suns of Tatooine, which wasn't his favorite initially, but had a better taste after sitting for a while. For dinner, we tried a bit of everything! The Yuzu Butter Wings had a unique, craveable flavor, although the wings themselves were a bit fatty. The Crab Rangoon Potstickers were stuffed with real crab and just the right amount of cream cheese. If you like a classic crab rangoon, I think you'll really enjoy Blockhead's twist on it. We also split a few sushi rolls, which hit the spot! The Spicy Crunchy Tuna was my favorite, and my husband loved the Krustee Crab. Finally, we shared a bowl of the Night King ramen noodles. These were full of spice, very saucy, and topped with tasty short rib and an egg. If you're in the area and looking for a fun fusion dinner, this is the spot!

Unfortunately, what should have been a special family evening turned into a disappointing and unacceptable experience. When my son and his family arrived, they were told they had to remain in the waiting area. He politely asked why they couldn't be seated inside and was told it was because their party exceeded four people. When my husband and I arrived shortly after, I asked the same question and was given the exact same explanation. However, the dining area was nearly empty -- only two couples were seated inside at the time. Shortly afterward, a larger family (five or more people) walked in and was immediately seated indoors. At that point, it was clear that the reasoning given to us was inconsistent. After I addressed the situation, another staff member stepped in, apologized, and attempted to make things right, even offering a complimentary drink. While I acknowledge that effort, the issue was not about a free drink. It was about how my family was treated from the start. The way my son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren were initially handled was unacceptable and left a lasting impression. Good food does not excuse poor or inconsistent treatment. This experience reflects a need for better communication, consistency, and customer service standards. Because of this, I will not be returning. I hope this is taken seriously so that other families do not experience the same treatment.

The evening started off wonderfully. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food absolutely delivered. The Wagyu Crispy Rice remains a 10/10 and is worth ordering every single time. We also shared the fried chicken and pork belly bao buns, which my husband and our friends couldn't stop talking about. Everyone loved their meals, and we left completely stuffed. Unfortunately, one interaction put a damper on an otherwise great dinner. My husband has had a white fish allergy for 32 years. He can safely eat certain fish like tuna, salmon, and trout, so he usually has limited sushi options but still enjoys it. He ordered what appeared to be a safe roll, but after the first bite realized it contained masago. We asked what type of fish their masago comes from, and the server confirmed it was from a white fish. Thankfully, he noticed immediately and didn't have a reaction. The server did offer to have the roll remade, which we appreciated. However, before doing so, she repeatedly told us that she and the chef "think all fish are white," implying that his allergy didn't really make sense. Hearing that several times felt dismissive of a very real allergy he's managed his entire life. Food allergies aren't something anyone should have to defend while dining out. To end the meal, they kindly brought out The Ridiculous dessert and the coconut cheesecake for my husband's birthday, and both were delicious. However, the moment was a bit overshadowed when the server mentioned, "We normally don't give these as birthday desserts, but because of what happened, we did." While I'm sure it wasn't intended that way, it came across as passive-aggressive rather than hospitable. Overall, the food was outstanding and absolutely lives up to Sunda's reputation. I'd happily return for the Wagyu Crispy Rice and everything else we tried. My only criticism is that a little more sensitivity and understanding around food allergies--and a bit more tact in how situations are communicated--would have made an excellent dining experience truly exceptional.

The restaurant wasn't busy at 7pm on Sunday. We ordered a few drinks, a few different dishes, and an entry from the kids' menu. We quickly received our drinks, which were delicious and exciting. A balanced drink containing tamarind? Come on! We then got our first dish, the Wagyu crispy rice. Amazing. Delicious. Then our sushi came out. Also great! Then Adobe fried rice with pork belly. Super satisfying! But then... a total stall. We hadn't yet received our edamame or our chicken entree. Our server asked if we wanted the check. At that point, our food had time to sit and no one was hungry. So our server asked if we were ready for the check. Sure. Our check arrived at the same time our chicken dish showed up. And still no edamame, which was an appetizer. We were also given another table's bill, which was totally different than ours and showed a credit for something and a zero balance. It was fixed, and we ended up paying our $50ish per person with the only adjustment being that we didn't pay for the edamame we never received. Obvious disconnect between the kitchen and service. But the food we did receive was exceptional. Drinks were novel and playful. But forgetting food and a weird service pace really diminished the overall elegance of Sunda. I feel like we drastically overpaid for the dining experience. We are on a family vacation, so instead of memories of a great meal we instead have a story of that messed up service and the weirdness that surrounded.
