I'm so glad Paris Banh Mi exists! The go-to banh mi place was closed so the next in line was up... For a chain, Paris Banh Mi does surprisingly well in making their namesake and other offerings. To my understanding, Paris Banh Mi was founded by a chef who grew up in Paris, in partnership with another baker and businessman who owned a chain of bakeries in Vietnam. They have many locations across the southeast. Their impressive growth is a testament to their delicious food. I recommend their combination special and grilled pork banh mi sandwiches. All the way! They're huge and tasty. Also their Taiwanese popcorn chicken and Vietnamese coffee are a must try. I'm really glad a place like this is now around in Greensboro. Knowing that the gold standard of banh mis (Saigon) was just up the road, I entered this chain eatery with lowered expectations. While Ban Mi Paris's rendition of its signature sandwich doesn't compare favorably, it still offered a good overall experience. If nothing else, Paris Banh Mi has menu variety in its favor. In addition to the titular sandwich, there are sandwiches on croissant buns, Korean corn dogs, apps, teas (regular and milk/bubble), coffees, vermicelli bowls, pastries, and more. Whether seeking a snack or a meal, a vegetarian or an omnivore, you will find something here. It also helps that the location is reasonably spacious, brightly lit, and clean. I went with a special combination banh mi (pork roll, jambon, BBQ pork, pate, mayo, and veggies) and a jasmine green iced tea. After placing my order at the counter, there was a very short wait before it was called out for pickup. The sandwich was appreciably larger than banh mi I've had elsewhere, but at $8.25, it was also more expensive. It tasted fine, yet it gave the sense that something was missing: more heat from the jalapeno, more of a pickled flavor from the carrots, more flakiness from the bread. An underrated spot for banh mi that I was very happy we stumbled upon. The inside is very spacious and very clean. They have a lot of good options to choose from. The people working there were able to help us fairly quickly and were very quick to bring out all of the sauces and items for our meal. When I first entered, the restaurant was very cute with a lot of options to buy from their shop. There are quite a few unique items to choose from which is pretty cool. I was craving a K dog this day so I ordered the cheese dog and the server was very patient as I looked over the menu to make sure I got exactly the one I wanted. I was looking forward to trying this recently opened spot because I really like the Bahn Mi style of sandwich, when done correctly. This is a chain that was begun in Orlando, and now has over 50 locations, most of which are operated by franchisees. In addition to sandwiches, they offer freshly baked baguettes, croissants, cakes and pastries, coffee, teas, and specialty drinks. They do not offer sodas or sweet tea. This location is in a rather new shopping center with plenty of parking. The interior is new, bright and shiny, and is a very modern setup, most definitely typical of many new fast, casual operations. There is interior dining here with functional tables and chairs, comfort is not the priority here! There is no table service, so place your order at the counter and you will be notified when it is ready. I ordered the Pate Jambon which goes for $7.95. I requested the bun be toasted and requested the vegetables on the side, and this was done. My order was out in about 10 minutes. This was a pretty good sandwich, but even with toasting the roll lacked crustiness, and was not quite as flavorful as other such rolls I've tasted. The roll is bigger than other such rolls served in the area, at least 8". The cost is a bit more ( the sandwiches at Banh Mi Saigon are in the $6 to $6.50 range, but are definitely smaller and less well filled) but as so mentioned, it is larger. The pate and mayo combo was tasty, the ham was not the best quality, but the sandwich worked fairly well once the veggies were layered in. They consisted of cilantro sprigs (leaves and stems), carrot and radish matchsticks (barely pickled if at all), a large (think length of the bun), thin slice of cucumber, some sliced jalapeños - no onion. These were fairly fresh tasting, but I would have preferred the cucumber in matchstick form as well, aids both taste and texture. And I would have preferred the carrot and radish be more deeply pickled, as served both were a bit on the bland side! I would definitely return if in the area and looking for a quick meal! I really wanted to like this place more. I have my go to banh mi places in Greensboro and when I found out that there is a new banh mi restaurant, I was so excited. I prefer the baguette to be fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The baguette here is quite flat and not fluffy so that was a bummer. My go to banh mi is the bbq pork banh mi and I did like the thin meat slices that they put and the flavor is there. They have yummy boba drinks as well. Looking at the photos on Yelp I thought I would be blown away by the pastries here. To be fair it was a Sunday afternoon so maybe they were super busy and sold out of many items. We got a bubble waffle and ordered the creme brûlée dip to go with it. It was hot and fresh. The dip was cold vanilla custard. No brûlée anywhere but it was still good. However, while waiting for my waffle, I was absolutely floored at the lack of professionalism, customer service, and even proper food safety measures. Employees eating and drinking in the front customer service area, sitting on rolling office chairs like it's too difficult to stand for your restaurant job, and standing around goofing off with other employees, watching videos on their phones and every employee with air pods in their ears. There are visible empty tables that needed wiping and areas out from behind the counter that needed attention yet every single employee in the front couldn't be bothered. To top it off, the female employee from the front went to the back to "help" I'm assuming, and came running out to the front to announce they were out of corn dogs. Not a big deal except she was actually battering a corn dog using kitchen scissors to spread the batter on it and not wearing gloves, a hat to hold her hair back, or using any kind of food safety measures at all. I understand this place is new but I really hope the owners reign in the lack of professionalism before it becomes the standard here. Excellent banh mi sandwiches. Good portion and good price. I love the pickled daikon that it comes with. Compared with Saigon Bakery, the banh mi is a little different. The bread is good but maybe use less rice flour so it's less airy. I prefer Saigon bakery's bread. Filling-wise, Paris has pickled daikon and jalapeño, both pluses to me, which Saigon is missing. Paris banh mi has more butter and mayo, so it's fattier. In any case, banh mi from this shop or Saigon are good. We did try the chicken pie (I think they called them chicken bun) which I thought was rather mediocre. Compared to Chinese western-style chicken pies, this one poors in comparison. As a banh mi lover, I had to. I understand this is a chain and I've never been, but pleasantly surprised! The young men working were very polite, took my order quickly, and my sandwich came out quickly. It was, on the scale of banh me around here, really good! I got the vegetarian that uses a soy product. The bread was nice and crunchy (maybe not made in house? Maybe? Who knows) and the veggies were good. This place is FANTASTIC. I was a little hesitant because of the "chain" nature of this restaurant but it's really great! The service was quick and the food is made to order. They also have a nice little bakery section that you can grab some bakery items. Granted, I only tried the banh mi (I mean, it's literally the name of the place) but I think I have tried 6 of the 8 they have on the menu. I buy 3-4 of them and throw 2-3 in the fridge to eat later. My general opinion for go-to would be Pate Jambon banh mi as it probably was the most balanced one where you could taste all the things in the banh mi. The special combination is great but sometimes it is hard to tell what you are eating when there's that much protein and not much distinction. The grilled pork is the one HOT banh mi so you want to eat that one ASAP to really get the maximum enjoyment of it (and yes, it was very good). Pate steamed pork was ok but tasted pretty dry to be honest. Definitely a place to try out if you want a nice supple lunch (or keep in fridge and it makes for a great midnight snack). read more

Someone just invested hundreds of thousands of dollars into a restaurant that will be ruined by a bunch of young kids. When we arrived, all four employees were eating and drinking... including the cashier that had to set down his rice bowl and greet us with a mouthful of food. Between orders each of these kids gets out their cell phone, they all have earbuds in and are constantly touching their hair and ears. The girl working is goofing off, putting stickers on a guys face while he's trying to take orders at the register. Then she's bumping his butt with her butt repeatedly, again while he's waiting on guests. Every table is full in the dining room, and the tables are filthy. The team is constantly eating and drinking, right at the register, at the food pick up area too. They are putting food into their mouths with their fingers and proceeding to make food for guests, no gloves, no handwashing. Now I'm watching a guy scratching his neck. Soon these kids will move onto a new business to ruin and the owner will wonder where things went south. Hopefully they will get some management in place soon to correct this hot mess of an operation. No health score posted yet, they might still be under a temporary permit if they are within their first 30 days. The Bubble Waffle was great! No visible signs of hair, skin particles or ear wax. Tried a new place today and what a treat! Easy parking out front in the new shopping plaza on Gate City Blvd. DJ was so helpful as we were first timers. The menus were easy to read. Worst Paris Banh mi I have ever been to. I ordered online, showed up on time and they claimed they couldn't find my order. Ran to the the car to grab my phone to show them and they found my ticket. Said they were working on the order. Great. They didn't read any of my modifications, which for my veggie was no jalapeño, cut in half. My boyfriend's was a grilled pork on a croissant no cilantro. No modifications were done, so I had jalapeños and he had cilantro. Ran back in and asked them to remake it.
