The roasted chicken and rice is a must have here. I would even recommend it over the pho. I am not sure what hey put in the soy sauce container that comes with it, but it is addictive. We tried this place out of the blue visiting LA. The spring rolls were ok, no basil or mint. The peanut sauce is also a bit blend. They were able to sub out meat for tofu for me tho. While their spring roll fall short, they really delivered with their pho noodle soup. Great depth of flavor, noodles not over cooked, and they brought it out super hot. All important for pho noodle soup. If we go back, I'd stick with the pho and skip the appetizers. The physical location itself is clean, and they had an "A" label from the health department posted. We had the worst service tonight left without even eating, we have been coming here for 5 years and will never be back. Our 18 month son knocked over a cup of water at our table. Not a full glass, like 6oz maybe and some ice. I asked the guy waiting tables if he could bring a rag and I could wipe it up.... Gave me the sassiest pissed off look like I just spit in his face. He proceeds to wave us over to another table and says "just go over there"... he's at the table huffing and puffing cleaning up the water with paper napkins and kept looking over at us. Comes back to the table and says "keep the baby away from the cups".... Naw. He is a baby... it was a small amount of water... accidents happen. I have worked in food and worked with kids in the past it really wasn't that big of a deal. If you're that miserable of a person to outright make a family feel so uncomfortable you should probably find a different job.... Maybe one that doesn't involve interacting with the public. We got up and started to walk out right as they were bringing out our appetizer, told them we weren't eating there anymore as we felt so unwelcome. The other girl has yet another major attitude about it and is trying to force me to pay for this plate we haven't even touched. I owe Pho Island a five star review and great thanks for being the best Pho spot in the area. Although the location is within a pretty run down strip mall, it does not impact the quality of food and customer service at Pho Island. We enjoy the rare steak Pho the most, but the sandwiches and egg rolls are great too. If you run out of soup, they will provide more for free. The owner and the staff are also very efficient. I have yet to wait too long for our food; especially during the busy lunch period. Pho Island also has Thai style tea with boba, which is excellent. Every time we have eating at Pho Island, our server has been Kevin along with a small group of other team servers. Kevin is super cool and checks on us regularly. They have always provided us with great service. Pho Island is definitely our "go to" Pho spot, especially for lunch. read more

Came here for dinner but staff was rude in particular a tiny lady with a pink hair clip was rude and didn't have great hospitality. She was unclear about menu descriptions which made it difficult to order and when the order was wrong she came back as confrontational and hesitant to fix it, almost yelling at us. I ordered a boba with my meal but didn't get it at all and she still tried to charge me for it even after I no longer wanted it and was not trying to pay for something I didn't receive. She lied about not being able to take it off the system but eventually fixed it once we asked for a manager. The best place for Vietnamese food in the IE. We come at least biweekly for their Bone Marrow soup, Spring rolls and Pho. Their selection of drinks and Thai tea are also really really good. Their bone marrow soup is BIG and reasonably priced for all that you get. We always have left overs. Their fried rice tastes really unique too it's so good, not too oily and packed with veggies and protein of choice. I always recommend this place to my friends who are coming down to this area. There aren't many Pho places around me so I have to admit that this place is one of the best! It's close by and they always have the quickest service! My family has been going here for ages and we are friends with the owners and they have always been the kindest souls! The food is DELICIOUS! Everything on their menu is great! I always get chicken and rice or some sort of pho!! The spring rolls and tofu are great as well! The restaurant is in a pretty deserted lot but that means there is plenty of space for parking! 1st impression - extensive menu items & drinks. I ordered pork & shrimp paste vermicelli. It came in a big bowl, filled & heaped with a VERY generous amount of meat, cucumber, lettuce & bean sprouts & a small side soup. I ate so much and there was so much left, enough to enjoy at home for another big meal. My spouse had the beef stew with french bread. He raved about the taste. I saw they had opened months ago but never went in to try it out because I had my fav for the past 20+ yrs until recently they have gotten stingy with amount & quality of foods. And don't get me started on the meatballs =\ it wasn't the same (maybe they changed ownership) They down size their cups and charge for more. Food came out warm. (I got the combo pho) I wish I showed the beef during my meal because I stirred it in my pho to cook it and it wouldn't cook. I would've said something but they never came to check up on us. The service was so terrible. Waiter was rude, I asked if they had a baby changing station for my daughter (to which she blankly stared at me) and said no. In the state of California, restaurants are legally supposed to have baby changing stations. (State Law AB-1127 requires that there should be baby changing stations in at least one women's room, and one men's room with a room minimum of 60, this place has a capacity of 84.) She asked if we were ready to order three times in a time frame of ten minutes and tapped her pen on the table with lack of patience. I came in today, Christmas Eve around 3:30pm-4pm. The food was good but the service wasn't. I was greeted when I walked in as a party of 1 but after I got my food, I was completely ignored. I watched them go to a table of 4 three times to ask if they needed more water, a man that sat alone twice that was near the door to check on him and swept the table near me without saying a word and they didn't check on me at all. I sat for a while to see if they'd come to me but they didn't. I had to go ask them for a container and my check and the lady in a hat with a ponytail rudely said my amount and huffed when I was grabbing my cash and change from my purse. I tip extremely well when I eat out but I didn't even leave a tip for this place because of how poorly the customer service was. Every table should be treated the same. I'm not a fan of pho but used to really like their bbq pork and shrimp springrolls (that's 1 star for each item we liked). Hubs called in our order for takeout. Arrived, and the food was bagged and ready to go (add 1 star for promptness). This restaurant loses a star because I asked for extra limes/beansprout/licorice and additional packetd of hoisin sauce. Was charged ~$2 more for said items after a total of $37 was already given to me. Paid for the additional fee - no tip given because condiments shouldn't be charged more. Do Mexican restaurants charge extra if you want salsa for the chips?? Then before I left, I remembered that Hubs wanted extra hoisin sauce. Cashier told me there was enough in the bag, I asked for more and he said there's plenty. Excuse me?? I asked for additional, and paid for it, right? I was dismissed, and it was rude.
