Been to Pho Island a few times now, and it is honestly pretty good. I am used to having Vietnamese food in the Garden Grove area, which is has a larger Vietnamese population and a lot more restaurants, so I have had much better Vietnamese food compared to here. Overall, the food was okay. The pho is pretty good, and the portion size is very generous. My favorite dish I've had here was the bo luc lac. It was really flavorful and I would come back if I am craving some Vietnamese food and am not in Garden Grove. The service when dining in is very good! Whenever I step into this restaurant, it's so welcoming and reminds me of our travels in Vietnam. The place is spacious and very clean. We dropped by as a party of 5 at 5:30 and were seated promptly! We had the eggrolls as the appetizer but it was honestly a little disappointing; they were not crispy. The portions they gave were hefty and filling, we ordered the beef rib pho, grilled pork vermicelli, and grilled beef and shrimp paste vermicelli. We had leftovers and left sufficiently full. Flavor wise I rate everything about a 3-- the green Thai tea had a very floral aftertaste that was overwhelmingly perfume-y and artificial, and I asked to switch to normal Thai tea because it was undrinkable. The entrees weren't particularly outstanding, just alright. Their service in switching the drink ultimately bumped my review up to 4 stars; for something more authentic or flavorful I would make the drive to OC or El Monte instead. read more

Probably the worst oxtail pho I've had. Meat was tough and not good. They gave me the tiniest little pieces (photo shown of the weak little bones). Gave an extra star just because they had an adorable little girl serve me my water lol. I have to admit I love Vietnamese food I have for many years after growing up in Seattle. This place is really nice that there's a lot of seating. It's very clean and there is pretty good size. They have a lot to offer, but I had some good old-fashioned. Pho had to get mine with the flank tendon and of course filet mignon steak added extra peppers and it was delicious. The real fun part is they have a little delivery robot that will wheel itself over to your table delivered to you right on the spot the service is very quick even the human service so I recommend coming here. I also recommend trying some of the drinks as they are plentiful. read more

This pho place is 9/10. We enjoyed the flavorful broth and amount of meat. They have a lot of pho options but I really like that you can build your own pho option. The vermicelli with grilled pork was good but the fried shrimp paste was a bit overcooked and tough to eat. Beef fried rice was delicious and a great portion. This is the only pho place worth going to in chino! The filet mignon pho is amazing my wife gets the back rib the broth, the noodles, even down to the lemons are always on point. They have cool AI bots that drop off the food, but the customer service is great as well from the door you're getting greeted. Pretty average. Prices are a bit steeper than others. Service was standard. Slow night so they're quick to take orders and the food came out fast. I ordered Bun Bo Hue and it was good but I've had better. It only comes in a large size and had a good amount of meats in it. Unfortunately the noodles were waaaay too soft. I loved how there's a "make your own" pho option where you get to choose your protein and how large your bowl is! The sizes range from S, L, XL - i got the Large bowl and it was a good amount for me! Located near Costco at Chino Hills, we ordered the following: - #37 / 2 seafood pho (small) = $29.50 - #64 / 1 BBQ shrimp vermicelli = $16.75 SUBTOTAL = $46.25 TAX = $3.58 TIP = $10 OVERALL TOTAL = $59.83 My mom and I ate the seafood pho and the bowls were huge for a small! A generous amount of noodles inside too which filled us both up. The soup was definitely delicious but salty (msg). Large seating areas inside and the place looks clean; however the floors were dirty and sticky; additionally, the water cups were dirty. I had ordered a couple dishes from Tasty Spot Cafe in Chino Hills. While I was waiting for the food, I was curious about Pho Island that happens to be right next door. Well, my curiosity never fails me. I had to check out Pho Island so here I am. Wowza, upon entry, I was amazed by its huge dining space! Ambiance was inviting and welcoming. I was greeted right away. They weren't too busy at the time. I sat down to review the menu before ordering. Menu had a variety of dishes and drinks. I went directly to what I normally order from a Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered the items below. All noodle soup, vermicelli, and rice dishes were of huge portions. Great value for the buck! 1 Hot Spicy & Sour Seafood Noodle Soup - Excellent flavor! Great compromise to the Bun Rieu (they don't have this item). Lots of seafood such as salmon, shrimp, mussels, squid, and imitation crab meat. Tons of banh canh noodles. Good amount of fresh veggies. I would get this again! 1 BBQ Pork & Shrimp Paste Bean Curd with vermicelli - Delicious! Love the shrimp paste. Grilled pork was good, too. This is a keeper! 2 Grilled Pork with white rice - Lots of pork slices! Flavor was on point. Both my daughters enjoyed their grilled pork dishes. 1 Combination Pho - My daughters haven't eaten this yet. From what I can tell, meats look good. Lots of noodles. Just not sure about the broth at this time. 1 Vietnamese Iced Coffee - I was slightly disappointed in the iced coffee. It didn't have the authentic coffee flavor that I would get from a Lee's Vietnamese Iced Coffee. I probably won't get this again.
