I usually like to recommend people towards restaurant finds and away from disappointments. This is that rare place that is good, worth visiting, but not obsessing over. My fave rave is PHO LONG in Colton, but if that's understandably too far for you there's nothing wrong with PHO ISLAND. If you empty your vermicelli bowl here, it must be pretty good. And it is. My partner in crime got a tofu vermicelli bowl and was impressed. My shrimp and pork and crispy fried rolls bowl was definitely tasty. And the pricing was very reasonable. The only catches here were odd -- 1. When approaching the entrance, there was an awful 'sewage' like smell. When leaving, it was there again -- but it was really farming manure in the air everywhere. Not their fault, but not appetizing. 2. Apparently this place opened 16 years ago, and it's starting to show on the interior furniture. I know fixing things up would likely raise prices, but I saw a couple kinda dressed up on a date -- and the place could be a little more dressed up itself. 3. The shrimp in my bowl arrived on a thin stick skewer. To have a shrimp you must pick up the stick by the tips and pull one off. Well that shrimp apparently came right off the grill because it burnt my fingertip. It was like picking up a wooden match seconds after it's been used. The Pho is always amazing and my go to when I'm in Ontario. The Pho special is always consistent and always hits the spot. Customer service is always good and gets my order right. Ambiance is still average noise depending on if the place is packed or not. When I went on a Saturday afternoon it wasn't loud but the restaurant is sure inviting. Another great Pho experience. This is the spot in the area if you're having hangovers from your summer nights out because they have x-large size for their pho. I choose this location over their other ones and will make the drive here because they actually blast their AC. Pho Ga (Chicken)- savory but clean and flavorful. Theirs comes with fried shallots which adds so much depth. Only comes with white meat, but has never been dry or over cooked. Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Hue's Style Noodle Soup)- rich and so much depth. I'm so sorry I rlly wanted to like this place but unfortunately it falls into mid at best. I got a small bowl of pho and the broth lacked depth and tasted almost like instant seasoning/powder. It was another chore Saturday--laundry and grocery shopping. Out of convenience, we decided on Eastvale for 99 Ranch and Costco. My mother in-law was tired of eating ramen, Korean, and dumplings so she chose pho since she was craving summer rolls. Yelp led us to Pho Island Restaurant which was a measly ten minute drive away. We walked in and one of the staff said we could seat ourselves. They quickly handed us menus and brought us waters. Seeing that we had two young children, they also brought two small kid's bowls with a set of utensils. How considerate! My wife's attention was caught by the special--oxtail pho. She ordered an XL bowl while the in-laws ordered a large bowl. I went for my usual combination. Appetizers were the classic spring and summer rolls. The food was ready in under ten minutes and we were busy enjoying the food. The spring rolls were long and thin; not my preference as I prefer the fat, stocky, meaty ones. The summer rolls weren't anything too special and probably could have benefited from basil or mint. My wife's extra large oxtail pho had two large hunks of oxtail meat but both of them were surrounded by fat. She only has about five bites of actual meat. This place isn't a bad option. We have been ordering from Pho Island for a while and their food is fresh and generous portions in my personal opinion. Glad to see that there is another location in Ontario. Having Vietnamese Food is one of our favorite food, especially the Noodle Vermicelli and for its flavor. We ordered for pick and ordered: Spring Rolls (3), #28 Noodle Vermicelli w/Charbroiled Pork (2). The Noodle Vermicelli comes with: Shredded Salad, Bean Sprouts, Mint, Cucumber, Picked Carrot, Radish. The Shrimp Spring Roll comes with: wrapped rice paper w/shredded lettuce, mints, bean sprouts, and vermicelli. When I arrived, I was welcomed by the friendly staff in the front. Arrived at home with our order and we wanted to have the Shrimp Spring Roll first. The part I loved when biting into the Shrimp Spring Roll was the crunch of the lettuce and the size of the Shrimp was very generous in my opinion and you can taste the basil. Especially if you dip the Spring Rolls with the Peanut sauce, just take it to another level. You can definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients. My favorite part of the Vermicelli is the charbroiled pork and the noodles. The pork is marinated and when it is charbroiled, it gives it a nice flavor in my opinion. As well as the small salad that it comes with, very fresh and nice addition of the small fish sauce that it comes with. You can put it on the salad and great for dipping it with the egg roll in my personal opinion. Our overall experience was great and the order was correct as always. In my personal opinion, I would recommend Pho Island Restaurant if you love Vietnamese food or if you want to try something new. Their prices are reasonable and the portions are generous in my opinion. Next time we order, we are going to try their other items on their menu. read more

I'm surprised this place was dead, they were very kind and attentive, food came out very fast. You can tell they take pride in their food just by the way they set it on the table for you. We got two shrimp spring rolls , 2 charbroiled pork, 1 beef and broccoli,1 fried rice. EVERYTHING was so amazing, I can't believe I've never been here before. Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience. The service was unfriendly from the start, and to make matters worse, my order was wrong. While I wasn't charged for the mistake, the way it was handled was the biggest issue. Instead of being apologetic or acknowledging the inconvenience, the staff seemed more focused on defending themselves. I went out of my way to pick up the food, and having to deal with an incorrect order is already frustrating--being met with an unapologetic attitude just made it worse. Mistakes happen, but how a restaurant handles them matters. In this case, the lack of accountability and poor customer service left a bad impression. I won't be returning. read more

This was a close to home location that I've been coming here and there for pho over the years. I think it's a solid 4/5 but I think that my nostalgia has some part of the score as well.
