    Aftermath of the pho special.

The Pho is always amazing and my go to when I'm in Ontario. The Pho special is always consistent and always hits the spot. Customer service is always good and gets my order right. Ambiance is still average noise depending on if the place is packed or not. When I went on a Saturday afternoon it wasn't loud but the restaurant is sure inviting. Another great Pho experience. I ordered the small Pho Special with extra tendons.

This is the spot in the area if you're having hangovers from your summer nights out because they have x-large size for their pho. I choose this location over their other ones and will make the drive here because they actually blast their AC. Pho Ga (Chicken)- savory but clean and flavorful. Theirs comes with fried shallots which adds so much depth. Only comes with white meat, but has never been dry or over cooked. Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Hue's Style Noodle Soup)- rich and so much depth. Theirs comes with pork hock and a couple blood cubes. Pho Da Biet (Pho Island Special)- of course a classic. Perfect for those days you just need soup. X-large for me please!

Casual and typical ambiance for a viet restaurant. Always quick service and friendly staff. Great comfort food and generous portions.

Had few dinner there, nice place right next to Costco, food are pretty fresh, and server are very sweet. Restaurant is pretty new and not crowded. Little gem location for the locals.

    Oxtail pho

It was another chore Saturday--laundry and grocery shopping. Out of convenience, we decided on Eastvale for 99 Ranch and Costco. My mother in-law was tired of eating ramen, Korean, and dumplings so she chose pho since she was craving summer rolls. Yelp led us to Pho Island Restaurant which was a measly ten minute drive away. We walked in and one of the staff said we could seat ourselves. They quickly handed us menus and brought us waters. Seeing that we had two young children, they also brought two small kid's bowls with a set of utensils. How considerate! My wife's attention was caught by the special--oxtail pho. She ordered an XL bowl while the in-laws ordered a large bowl. I went for my usual combination. Appetizers were the classic spring and summer rolls. The food was ready in under ten minutes and we were busy enjoying the food. The spring rolls were long and thin; not my preference as I prefer the fat, stocky, meaty ones. The summer rolls weren't anything too special and probably could have benefited from basil or mint. My wife's extra large oxtail pho had two large hunks of oxtail meat but both of them were surrounded by fat. She only has about five bites of actual meat. This place isn't a bad option. Would come back to try other menu items.

    #28 Noodle Vermicelli w/Charbroiled Pork

We have been ordering from Pho Island for a while and their food is fresh and generous portions in my personal opinion. Glad to see that there is another location in Ontario. Having Vietnamese Food is one of our favorite food, especially the Noodle Vermicelli and for its flavor. We ordered for pick and ordered: Spring Rolls (3), #28 Noodle Vermicelli w/Charbroiled Pork (2). The Noodle Vermicelli comes with: Shredded Salad, Bean Sprouts, Mint, Cucumber, Picked Carrot, Radish. The Shrimp Spring Roll comes with: wrapped rice paper w/shredded lettuce, mints, bean sprouts, and vermicelli. When I arrived, I was welcomed by the friendly staff in the front. Arrived at home with our order and we wanted to have the Shrimp Spring Roll first. The part I loved when biting into the Shrimp Spring Roll was the crunch of the lettuce and the size of the Shrimp was very generous in my opinion and you can taste the basil. Especially if you dip the Spring Rolls with the Peanut sauce, just take it to another level. You can definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients. My favorite part of the Vermicelli is the charbroiled pork and the noodles. The pork is marinated and when it is charbroiled, it gives it a nice flavor in my opinion. As well as the small salad that it comes with, very fresh and nice addition of the small fish sauce that it comes with. You can put it on the salad and great for dipping it with the egg roll in my personal opinion. Our overall experience was great and the order was correct as always. In my personal opinion, I would recommend Pho Island Restaurant if you love Vietnamese food or if you want to try something new. Their prices are reasonable and the portions are generous in my opinion. Next time we order, we are going to try their other items on their menu.

I was craving something after watching The Odyssey and this place was right down the street. Convenient for me! There was no wait when I arrive, and it generally didn't seem too busy while I was there. The restaurant is clean, and the employees seem to get along well with each other, joking and chatting in their down time. It has a chill vibe. I don't think I got much, in the way of service, but that's fine since I didn't really need anything. Napkins and sauces are on the table, and I was given a water refill once. The food itself, on this visit, was decent, but I think I've had better Com Bo Luc Lac (Filet Mignon & Rice) at some other pho places. Some of the meat chunks were stringy and had like tendon bits inside. I'm a big fan of tender pieces, but I'd say that maybe 10-15% of the meat in here wasn't the tender bites of filet mignon I expected. The flavor was solid, and I enjoyed that it felt like a balanced place. The large bowl of soup on the side was a huge plus for me. I usually get way less side soup at other places for the same dish. Overall, this specific experience was good. I think that the pho here is great, as I had pho the other two times I've been here and I think it's great. I'd strongly recommend the pho options, if it's your first time eating here.

The same waitress we've dealt with in the past continues to be extremely rude. She has gotten our order wrong before and tends to argue instead of resolving issues. There also seems to be a communication barrier, which wouldn't be a problem if there was at least some effort to be patient or respectful but there isn't. Tonight really crossed the line. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, which is still reasonable time to dine in. The waitress made direct eye contact with me when we walked in, yet never greeted us or acknowledged us. A man came in after us and was immediately welcomed and told to take a seat. Meanwhile, my son and I stood there waiting with no direction. Eventually, I had to ask where we could sit. The man at the register mentioned they close at 9 PM and asked if we wanted to dine in or do takeout. Since we still had time, we chose to eat there. We sat down and again, nothing. The waitress walked past us multiple times, even bringing condiments and service to the man who came in after us, completely ignoring us. At around 8:45 PM, she finally approached us. As I began placing my order, she cut me off to ask "for here or takeout," then suddenly changed it to "actually, you can only do takeout." This was confusing and frustrating, especially since the other customer was clearly still being served for dine-in. I went to the register to place and pay for my order, and I asked her why the same rule didn't apply to the man behind us. She said he was dining in. That didn't make sense, considering we arrived first. The situation turned into her arguing with me claiming she didn't see us earlier and even disputing who brought us water. On top of everything, I was left feeling severely embarrassed in front of other customers, especially with my child there to witness it. No parent should have to experience that kind of treatment while simply trying to have a meal. By 9 PM, the man who came after us was already being served his food while we were denied the same service. This experience felt not only disrespectful but also discriminatory. It's disappointing because I've tried to support this place multiple times, but the consistent poor treatment and lack of professionalism make it impossible to return. I won't be coming back.

When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.
