I'm sorry to be leaving this review :( I was excited to see a banh mi spot open up in Chino and really wanted to like it, unfortunately fell short. First off, the bread appeared cold and stale as if it were day old. Did not have the satisfying crisp factor you get from a fresh baked baguette. I also look forward to pickled carrots and daikon in my banh mi, however they did not taste very good. Hardly even had any daikon either. And the pate tasted odd to me as well. Sadly, I will not be returning.

Mainly street parking so it can be nuts. Cashierless so u order via the kiosk/tablet. Looks like they take lots of online orders. If you do, make sure u sign up on Snackpass for their rewards points. Their combo isn't bad. $13 for a Sammy/bowl + a drink. I got their crispy pork belly banh mi + lychee tea. Delish. Crispy skin with the soft meat and the garlic mayo/sauce and veggies. Definitely want to come back and try their vermicelli pork belly bowl.

FOOD: I ordered a matcha latte and Ace Banh Mi Sandwich (roughly $18 in total). The matcha latte came with oat milk and had little sweetness in it. I think it was a pretty good drink. For the Ace Sandwich, I had better expectations for the bread -- it was dry. Lots of loaded veggies and good portion protein. I think the bread can be better improved. As for the price, I personally think it's quite steep. I would definitely stop by again and try something different later in the future. SERVICE: Service was quick! It was slow when I went to order (mid-day). ATMOSPHERE: Very clean. I love the little aesthetic and color palette of the interior. There is limited seating. FYI - Parking is weird. Very limited street parking. If street parking is full you might want to park further out,

Nice to see a Vietnamese restaurant in Chino since there aren't many. I give the banh mi a 4/5, spring roll a 3/5, vermicelli 3/5 and the prices 2/5. The banh mi had a good amount of meat and flavor. The spring roll had plenty of noodles and fresh herbs but the meat tasted like beef jerky. Super dry! The vermicelli bowl is pretty small. Prices for these simple items are steep!

Excellent and fast service, everyone was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and really flavorful. Good portions for sharing like their vermicelli bowls. They come with veggies, protein, noodles and a side of sauce that was not too sweet but just enough flavor to bring it all together. The banh mi was really good and the bread wasn't too tough to chew. Their coffees are worth coming here for on their own! I love a good salty coffee and this was excellent. Not too sweet and not overly salty. Their egg coffee was good too. I can best describe it as tasting like the pudding they put at the bottom of boba drinks. Like a custard taste. Very fluffy, creamy and again not overly sweet. Definitely recommend!

Came here on their soft opening on 3/7/2026. Was the first customer. The place is nice and clean inside. Very bright and warm atmosphere. The staffs were friendly and helpful. I got the Ace's Deluxe (Combination) Sandwich and the Ace's Vietnamese Ice Coffee. I also got their egg-rolls. All tasted so good. Glad to see a new Banh Mi place opened up near me. Will definitely come back again.

Ace's Deluxe- look at the layers of meat!

So happy a Banh Mi placed open locally! Authentic and perfect to satisfy my cravings when I need a Vietnamese sandwich. I don't have to wait to go to OC for it.

Fast service, Good food, I'm usually out of there in about 7 minutes. Tried most of the menu. I like the fact their menu is small so that they can keep the quality consistent. The 4th time. Great flavor. Banh Mi are good. Been craving a good spot for Vietnamese food in our area. Quite a few spots are no longer in the general area. I will definitely support a good spot like this

Finally made it in to try this place, and wow -- the crispy pork belly banh mi is an absolute standout! The bread is fantastic: perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft, fluffy interior. Fresh, crunchy veggies, and that insanely delicious crispy pork belly... get in my belly! Seriously, if you're on the fence, just come eat here already. You won't regret it.

And pretty busy on a Saturday early afternoon. Staff is nice and very attentive for questions.

Place was clean when we went on a weekend. Staff was helpful when I asked to help make my drink less sweet. Haven't tried their food so will be back!

I really want this place to succeed because we need a good bánh mì spot in Chino, but this was disappointing. A proper cold cut bánh mì should have a crispy, lightly toasted baguette, a good layer of pâté and mayo, a mix of Vietnamese cold cuts, pickled carrot and daikon, fresh cucumber, cilantro, and usually some jalapeños. It should also be seasoned lightly with soy sauce or Maggi and a bit of pepper for that extra depth. What I got was mostly hard, stale bread with very little filling. It wasn't toasted, there was barely any pâté or mayo, the meats were limited and not sliced right, and it was missing key elements like cucumber. There was no real balance of flavors or textures. I used to work at a bánh mì shop, so I know how good these sandwiches can be. I'm posting this not just to complain, but because I hope they improve this area really deserves a spot that does bánh mì right. Service was slow and Ambiance is okay.

Banh Mi sandwiches and bowls taste good. Enjoyed them much! Even though there was a line service was quick. Parking is a challenge though.

I just found out a few days ago that January 31 would be their last day in business, and I was truly heartbroken. It felt bittersweet sharing one final meal together in a place that holds so many memories. I come here almost weekly, and servers Daniel and May always carry the brightest smiles and provide the warmest service. This place will be deeply missed, and I truly hope that one day Tay Ho will return to Chino Hills again.

The filling is slightly different than typical banh mi since it's meant to mimic the elements of beef brisket pho. The portion was great for the price & the sandwiches were packaged nicely so it is easy to take on the go. I ordered via online ordering so I have limited say on service & ambiance. But I would be open to dining in next time to try other items on the menu based on reviews.

When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.
