Since my stay in ATL, I been curious for a pho place that sells good vermicelli noodles. This place by far had the best vermicelli noodles I've had. I always get the V3 (Grilled pork and egg roll Vermicelli) and they are very attentive to any food changes, say if you want to take out a ingredient. The staff is friendly and gives off a relaxed vibe in the restaurant. This place has been my go-to fix for vietnamese food and plan on coming back here whenever I'm in town. read more

pho king has become a go-to over the past years due to the convenient location and affordable prices. i've dined in and ordered takeout. food always comes out pretty quickly and the prices are very reasonable compared to other vietnamese restaurants in the area. i usually order the bbq pork banh mi when i order over the phone for takeout. it's decent--not the best banh mi i've ever had but it does the job. i've had the pho here before as well, pretty standard. the vermicelli is good and is quite a big portion. i've also tried the drinks--the matcha slush and strawberry slush. i wouldn't necessarily recommend the milk tea / boba / smoothies here since they do taste artificial and are extremely sweet. however, if you're looking for a quick and cheap vietnamese meal, i'd recommend pho king. read more

The combo Pho was great but the spring rolls were uninspiring. The pho had ample amounts of protein served in a piping hot broth atop perfectly cooked noodles. The pho had a great taste and appearance. The add on veggies were fresh and crisp, and were more than enough for two people. My complaints revolve around sticky condiment containers. They were screaming for a cleaning!! Unfortunately none of the staff was listening. The server also forgot about me once my entree was delivered! It seems that once I was served my entree I fell off the servers customer radar. After waiting quite a while after finishing my meal with no interaction with anyone, I stood up and made my way to the counter and asked if I could pay my tab. I paid using ApplePay which was good, but the server wasn't too familiar with it. She took my phone from me and attempted to complete the transaction herself! I'm not a Pho person but my lady loves it and anytime where go to a Pho spot I found a chicken and rice option to enjoy. This time out I tried a beef option and I ordered the Marinated Beef Chunks and Rice plate which also came with a soup. The meal was very delicious with the meat made very tender and juicy and the rice flavorful and full of life. The soup was amazing as well. We ordered a side of vegetable egg rolls which just like everything else tasted very good. The service was amazing and we didn't not have to wait long for the food. Coming from the DMV area, I can be snobby about my Pho since I live only a few miles away from the best pho in DMV -- if not East Coast - Pho 75. I've been believing that Pho 75 is the "Pho King" pho in DMV. Not until I decided to stop by this 'Pho King' place when I was on vacation for a few days in Georgia -- and I can say the broth is comparable. We ordered a LARGE and XL Pho Combo. The first thing I did time was to sip the soup and it was very delicious! It was as rich as Pho 75 but finer, clearer and more flavorful. They also gave a very generous amount of meat!! Considering the fact the the restaurant is nice, clean, modern, and takes credit cards -- the food is quite cheap. We also ordered spring roll which gave a generous amount of shrimp. Overall, the serving time, quality of food, and the service are great. I'm not sure how this 'Pho King' place only get less than 4.0 stars on Yelp because it's so 'Pho King' gooood. Where was this when I went to Georgia Tech?! Pho King is connected to the same parking lot with Publix, Prickly Pear and J Christopher's...all the places I used to frequent. My sister loves this restaurant and I really needed a hot meaty broth to make me feel alive today so we made a late lunch trip here. Their broth is pho king delicious! I typically mix in Siracha and hoisin sauce but I always sip the broth beforehand to judge the true quality of the broth. I didn't even use any sauce this time because it was that good. I ordered the well done flank steak, and all the other pho places I've been to has minimal fatty streaks on the flank steak. Pho King had more of these fatty parts than I'm used to...which most people probably like but I had to cut these parts off and ended up not really eating much of the meat. Overall the service was great and food came out fast. I'll definitely be back in the future to try the other options on their menu especially their rice vermicelli dishes. I came here for dinner on a Friday night with a group of 6 people. There's street parking in front for $2/hour. The place had a lot of seating. We ordered the extra large combo pho, pork chop over rice, and vermicelli bowl. There's three sizes for the pho: small, large, and extra large. The portion sizes were large. The pho was pretty tasty. The beef was not overcooked and the noodles were not soggy. The vermicelli bowl was good too. There was a lot of pork and it was grilled well. The pork chop was dry though. Pho King opened its second intown location on West Peachtree Street at The Plaza Midtown (Publix, Marlow's Tavern, Prickly Pear Taqueria, etc.) in February 2017. Compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in metro Atlanta, I think Pho King's pho rates about 3 stars (OK). However, other dishes I've tried at Pho King rate closer to 4. Combined with its location (I think this is the only authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Midtown), I give this restaurant a 3.5-star rating bumped up to 4. I like it enough and it's close to where I live. The food at several Vietnamese restaurants on Buford Highway along with those in Gwinnett County and the suburbs south of Atlanta is better, but for folks in/around Midtown who don't want to drive far, Pho King is a mostly acceptable alternative. Plenty of free parking is available in The Plaza Midtown's parking garage. You can enter the garage from either Peachtree Place or 8th Street. Follow the signs to parking for shops and restaurants. Like other businesses at The Plaza Midtown, Pho King has a back entrance from the garage so you don't need to walk outside and enter from the street. If you've been to Pho King's original location in Buckhead (opened June 2015), you'll notice that their Midtown location is almost a carbon copy, even down to the layout, though I think this location is a bit smaller. This is a casual restaurant with a bar, TVs, and patio seating. The patio is located on the sidewalk of West Peachtree and it's got a few umbrella-covered tables. Inside, there's a combination of bar/counter and table seating (both standalone tables and banquettes). No booths. The interior looks modern and appropriately decorated with a Vietnamese-themed decor including, like the Buckhead location, portraits of Vietnamese women in ao dais (traditional dresses). Pho King offers 10 different kinds of pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) in three bowl sizes: small ($9.25), medium ($10.25), and XX-large ($10.95). They skip large and extra large and go straight to XXL. If you order pho dac biet, which is a combination pho with everything (what I like to order), it costs a bit extra: small ($9.50), large ($10.50), and XXL ($11.50). I ordered a XXL pho dac biet (P10). It was a lot of food. To get an idea of sizing, check out the bowls at the bar. They have the small, medium, and XXL bowls laid out side by side. Our server said the difference in the amount of pho you get between the medium and XXL sizes isn't as much as you think. Just looking at the bowls, the XXL does look significantly bigger than the medium. I can eat a lot and I couldn't finish my XXL and an appetizer. If we didn't order the app, I probably would've finished the XXL. Order it only if you can eat a lot and/or if you're really hungry. The pho dac biet comes with eye round steak, well-done flank, brisket, tendon, and tripe. My bowl was packed with a lot of meat and noodles. In addition, the bowl came with onion, scallion, and cilantro. On the side was a customary plate of pho accompaniments: fresh basil, culantro, bean sprouts, jalapeno, and lime. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful enough, though the broth wasn't as rich and robust as my favorite pho restaurant in town (Pho Dai Loi #2) nor was the meat as rare and tender. Still, it was OK and in this part of town where pho is practically non-existent, I'll take it. Aside from pho, Pho King serves a decent variety of other Vietnamese cuisine including spring rolls and egg rolls, papaya salad, egg noodles, rice vermicelli noodles, banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches), and rice plates with items like grilled pork, grilled pork chops, grilled chicken, shaking beef (marinated tenderloin), and spicy lemongrass chicken. Apps are under $6 each and most entrees are under $12 each. Beverage-wise, they offer $4 bubble teas and smoothies, Vietnamese drinks like Vietnamese coffee and Vietnamese lemonade, and beer and wine. Another dish I tried was bun thit nuong cha gio (V3) for $9.95. This is one of 5 rice vermicelli noodle dishes (bun) that Pho King offers. I thought this dish was better than the pho and personally, I recommend ordering bun over pho. The bun thit nuong cha gio came with a generous amount of tasty grilled pork, scallion, a crispy egg roll, shredded carrot, crushed peanuts, and fried shallots atop a bed of vermicelli noodles with a side of nuoc mam (Vietnamese fish sauce). Pour all the fish sauce into the bowl and mix. The result is quite delicious. Finally, I tried the papaya salad appetizer (A4) with grilled pork (the same grilled pork as in the bun above). This app is priced at $5.95 and you have the option of shrimp instead of pork too. While not among the best papaya salads I've had, it was still pretty good. The salad wasn't spicy. The ingredients were fresh. There was more pork than I expected, which was a good thing. Also included in this dish were lots of basil and fried shallots. If you like papaya, this app is worth ordering. Service was great. read more

Always appreciate the in town pho spots! I tried the beef pho on this visit. My wife had the grill pork rice dish. We also had the summer rolls and shared a pork banh mi. All the dishes were tasty and flavorful. The food came very quick and piping hot. Pho had great beef flavor and I got the XL bowl which was very filling. Summer rolls were fresh and the banh mi compares to Lee's bakery in Brookhaven. We had the opportunity to visit on a Sunday afternoon. Not too busy so we were able to be seated immediately. My only complaint is the server did not check on us once. Our water were never refilled as well. We were the only customers they had at that time. Odd. I just tried Pho for the first time a few months ago and now I can't get enough! These rainy, winter days are always made better with a bowl of Pho - this place was no exception. I loved that they had options of what size bowl (I usually can't finish a whole bowl at other places, but the small bowl here was the perfect size!) I really like this place, which comes as a bit of a surprise to me. After hearing about Pho King (and other in-town Vietnamese restaurants) for years and refusing to entertain these non-Buford Highway Vietnamese places for fear of feeding into hipster propagation of overcharging and fancifying foods that in their places of origin are just the nourishment of "the people," who more likely than not are of relatively few means. Earlier this year, I professionally moved into the neighborhood (i.e., I work nearby) and I finally gave in and grabbed lunch at Pho King. I smelled pho broth and fish sauce as I pulled the door open, which was a great first impression. After getting seated, I noticed that I heard servers speaking Vietnamese. Okay, another good sign. I ordered a bowl of bún gà nng (rice vermicelli with chicken) and it came quickly, sans bean sprouts as I requested and with a little plastic cup of fish sauce. The party was continuing and it never stopped by meal's end. I have returned a few more times, usually to eat rice vermicelli, which doesn't feel too heavy and allows me to continue working through the end of my work day. I came with the two ATs and we also tried a bowl of pho broth (which I liked) and a plate of bò lúc lc (shaking beef). Everything was good. It's nice to have options like Pho King in the city and I'm pretty happy that I can get some comfort food for lunch on any ol' day. read more

Worst customer service ever. I got to the restaurant before 8:30pm when they close at 9pm. The employee tells me that they only can do take out at this time until they close. But he still refused to serve me. Another guy comes in 5 minutes after me and also wanted to dine in but was refused. I asked when do you start only taking To Go orders and he said at 8:20. I get my food still before the people seated at the tables. Now how the hell am I suppose to eat this in my hotel room (see photo). No consideration, lazy employees who want to try to close on time. Pho King met all of the expectations that I had. Everyone has been hyping up how delicious the pho is here and I enjoyed every bite and slurp of my veggie noodle soup. They don't have many vegan options but to be honest the only thing I wanted THEY HAD IT. The broth was rich and savory, they do not skimp on the bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeños like most places and they have the best chili oil I've tasted at any pho restaurant so far. The vegetarian menu has four options and unfortunately the only veggies/herbs they provide are carrots, onions, jalapeños, bean sprouts, basil, and cilantro. I don't eat tofu or soy so I opted out of having it added to mine. Even without the extra veggies I wanted, it didn't take away from how filling and amazing the pho was here. I came here on a Friday for an early dinner. There were a few parties eating, but most of the workers were just standing around. I was seated immediately and the first thing I noticed was that there was an outlet behind my bench. I noticed that many other seats had them too, not every one, but lots. I ordered my usual pho tai and goi cuon. The gio cuon were small, but packed a nice punch and tasted clean and smooth. The size of the pho bowl made up for the smallness of the goi cuons. Wow, their XX-Large has two Xs for a reason. It was one of the largest bowls I have ever had. It had tons of meat and lots of noodles and it tasted good as well!
