I came here for lunch with a craving for pho. I wound up getting a large combo pho hoping to take the leftover soup or noodles home. For an extra $2, it came with all the meat, even halved meat balls, tendon, and tripe. I've never seen a stone bowl pho before, very cool presentation. It came with the thinly sliced raw meat separately so you can add it yourself. The soup was good though, somewhat flavorful. The shrimp spring rolls were ~$6 so on the pricer side. It comes with two thin rolls but wasn't stuffed loosely. They also cut it in half but overall they were kinda small. Parking is free in the Chastain Square with plenty of parking. There's also ample seating inside with booths and tables. It was fairly empty at like 1:30pm. Menu had a few good options under each category like pho, banh mi, vermicelli, rice, and drinks. Our server refilled water several times and was quite attentive. On my pho tier list, Phi Dai Viet is a solid B. I'd give my pho experience a 3.8/5

I was having a rough day and craved the comfort of a big bowl of noodle soup. After a short workout, I looked up places with pho nearby. Enter: Pho Dai Viet My fiancé and I parked and headed inside, greeted by a statue of a huge bowl of pho and several Maneki-neko waving cats. The ambiance is casual and fun. Immediately, we were seated in a booth by the window and given menus. The menus are visually pleasing with big photos of most of the items. To start, we shared a an appetizer of fresh spring rolls with our choice of shrimp. They were very refreshing and delicious. Along with the peanut sauce, I mixed in a little hoisin and sriracha that were on the table and created a very yummy customizable sauce. For our entrées, we each did a Build Your Own Pho. I chose a small bowl (which was the perfect size for me), with spicy beef broth, tofu, carrots, and mushrooms. Of course I added some of the accoutrements we were given: juice from the lemons, Thai basil, bean sprouts, and jalapeños. My pho was the perfect spice level and was absolutely delicious. My fiancé got a medium bowl with vegan/vegetarian broth, shrimp, carrots, and broccoli. He enjoyed his as well and added toppings to his liking. We agreed this is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants we've been to--and we've been to a lot. We even took some pho to go for my fiancés mom. Thank you to the kind and welcoming staff for serving us. We look forward to coming back for more!

My friend and I came right before closing and the staff was very nice. The food came fast too. I got a medium sized pho with 3 different kinds of meat. My friend got grilled pork bahn mi with small pho. It was good but not great. I've had better pho on Buford Highway. Good service.

Pho Dai Viet is an absolute gem! The ambiance is peaceful, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was patient and kind, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The food was Incredible. This was a delicious vegan pho so flavorful and rich, with a depth that's hard to find. I also tried the tofu banh mi, crispy bread, well-seasoned tofu, and the perfect balance of textures and flavors. I've officially found my new go-to pho spot. Highly recommend!

Amazing! My wife and I came here to eat and we're impressed. Great presentation, service, music and the food was delicious! My Pho came boiling and stayed HOT the entire time. Highly recommend. Thank you!

A solid option for Vietnamese food with a Vegan pho! Lots of places will have vegetarian pho but it is not necessarily vegan. This place was a perfect place to get vegan pho that was nice for our throats when feeling just a tad sick!

I was craving the freshness of Vietnamese food and this hit the spot. Thank you for clearly marking vegan options on the menu, it's much appreciated. My friend and I split the tofu veggie rolls. These are the fresh kind wrapped in stretchy rice paper and served with a thick, peanuty sauce. My complaint is that the rolls literally had tofu, lettuce and rice noodles. I often appreciate simplicity, but would've enjoyed them having another element. Cabbage, carrots or herbs would've made these even better. The sauce served alongside could also use more saltiness or umami (IMO). We both had the tofu vermicelli bowl as our main and it was very satisfying. I loved the mix of sautéed and fresh veggies. The tofu was well cooked and the portion size for this dish is considerable. Neither of us finished the bowl with the amount of noodles and the generous toppings. There's a good bit flavor from the sautéed veggies and tofu but they also serve a side of soy sauce. The crushed peanuts and fried shallots add a lovely crunch to finish things off.

The food was amazing!!! The service was a little slow due to short staffing but the service didn't take a hit at all. The ambiance was great as well. Good food, good atmosphere and great service. Definitely would recommend and visit again.

So far I have had the pho twice, the rice cubes, and the shaking beef. Everything tasted great. Big parking lot for free parking. It is amazing how similar my visits have been. Staff was not as attentive as I would have like. My table had everything I needed so my meal was not interrupted. Getting my bill took longer than expected. I think the servers do not want to interrupt your meal but I wish they would come by more often. This place looks a little rough on the outside but it is extremely clean and some what fancy on the inside. The combination Pho has all the different types of meat. I remember the meatballs, flank steak, and tripe. Next time I will get something simpler.

I think their dishes although prepared authentically are underwhelming in terms of the depths in flavor and really the soul of Vietnamese food. I'm not an expert but I've eaten my fair share of Vietnamese food for a standard issue white girl. The pork patty was dry and likely made at the beginning of the week and just reheated as the week went on. It was pretty bland and had this rubbery overly bouncy consistency and literally snapped when I bit into it. It basically got lost amongst all the fresh herbs too. As you can tell from the photo the Bánh bột chiên was burnt and it ended up being burnt on both sides. The squares were cut too thick...and because they were cut too thick they were on the mushy side even after being overly pan fried. All of the veg was fresh and well cleaned, the rice noodles were not overly sticky and clumped together. The pickled carrot/daikon were tasty. The server I had was attentive and polite. The interior was as to be expected and I couldn't care less that it's a little rough around the edges. If the tile isn't cracked, if the booth's vinyl isn't taped up, the utensils aren't mismatched and the tables aren't wobbly then I don't trust the place!! Like I said-I don't dislike it here. I just don't see the hype. Then again I feel like I have to piece together my favorite dishes from several spots between Doraville/Chamblee and Duluth, so maybe it's because I haven't found one place that checks all the boxes and I can get all my favs from one place. I will come again...because I love Bánh hỏi.

There's no real ambiance to speak of--but when the food is this good, it truly doesn't matter. The value here is incredible. The portions are generous, the quality is consistently excellent, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Most importantly, the pho is as authentic as I've had anywhere. The depth of flavor in the broth, the freshness of the ingredients, and the balance of aromatics all hit exactly the right notes. This place passes that test with flying colors -- and one bite of their banh mi will tell you exactly why. The flavors are nothing short of extraordinary. Every element -- the crispy baguette, the savory fillings, the bright pickled vegetables -- comes together in a way that's genuinely memorable. This isn't just good for the price. It's just plain good, full stop. Where else can you get a huge, satisfying, flavor-packed sandwich for four dollars? The value here is almost absurd -- this is a place you'll be telling your friends about. And the most you'll ever spend? Five bucks. Pro tip: The soups are next on my list. When it comes to…read moreVietnamese food in metro Atlanta, I think this restaurant is among the better options and my Asian/Vietnamese foodie friends generally agree. Where this place lacks - at least in our experience today - is in service and ambiance (even by casual Vietnamese restaurant standards). Hu Tieu My Tho opened in October 2019 and is located in the popular Hong Kong Supermarket shopping center on Jimmy Carter Blvd, near I-85 exit 99. Locals know this as the hub for the Vietnamese community in Atlanta. On weekends and holidays, it can get crowded. The restaurant name comes from the Vietnamese dish "hu tieu," which is a clear rice noodle dish, and "My Tho," which is the specific southern city in Vietnam where this style of cuisine was perfected. This is not a pho restaurant. Instead, this place specializes in both hu tieu and "mi" (egg noodles) as well as other dishes like Vietnamese steak and eggs. It's fairly unique, which is a big part of the draw and appeal. Here's what three of us had: A1. Goi Cuon (2 for $5.50) x2 - spring rolls with shrimp and pork A3. Cha Gio (2 for $5.25) - fried egg rolls D15. Ca Phe Sua Da ($5.99) - Vietnamese coffee H3. Hu Tieu My Tho Dac Biet ($15.50) - House Special Rice Noodle Soup - char siu, crab, fish ball, pork liver, pork heart, ground pork, quail eggs, bone-on pork shank H6. Hu Tieu Nam Vang ($14.50) - Phnom Penh-style Rice Noodle Soup - char siu, shrimp, pork liver, pork heart, ground pork, quail egg, squid H10. Hu Tieu Bo Kho ($14.99) - Beef Stew Rice Noodle Soup - round and flank beef, carrots M5. Mi Hoanh Thanh ($14.50) - Wonton with Egg Noodle Soup - char siu, wontons Everything was fresh and tasty. When it comes to the hu tieu, the restaurant gives you the option of soft or firm noodle texture. In addition, you can get dishes "dry" (no soup) or with soup. If it's your first time, you should try the traditional way with soup. I really like the variety of hu tieu and mi offered here; for example, my friend likes the Phnom Penh-style noodle soup, which is Cambodian. Overall, I found the food to be solid all around. After we were initially seated and served, the staff never checked on us again. I think this was partly because they were busy. I noticed at least two other tables having the same problem we did -- having to flag down a server. As for ambiance, seating was tight. I actually refrained from ordering an extra dish because of the lack of table space. And, while not uncommon for Vietnamese restaurants, multiple tables weren't immediately cleaned. Also, the men's restroom was dirty. I'd like to return and try one of the steak and egg dishes; for example S1. Chao Xiu Mai ($15.99), S2. Banh Mi Chao Dac Biet ($18.99), or S3. Chao Bo Steak / Bo Xao ($16.75).

She recommended that I try - Hu Tieu Nam Vang or the Hu Tieu My Tho - I got the dark chicken rice noodle. I did a to go order. If you online there is no translation for the menu so I went there for translation. The menus in the store have English description and the guy at the register was helpful in answering my questions. I ended up trying dark chicken noodle soup because I wasn't brave enough yet for intestines etc. I shared my order with my 9 year old and were very pleased. The broth was well seasoned. It had lots of flavor and it wasn't salty. I asked for some sauces and they gave it to me with my order. It was so good and filling. I will definitely be back to try more soups and other dishes. This place is located in the plaza of the Hong Kong supermarket. Parking was pretty simple but it was full. Inside was quiet and there were very nice Christmas decorations. It's a very casual place.
