I luv Pho'. Really, I luv Vietnamese food, and I am rarely dissapointed. There is a first for everything. When I try a restaurant for the first time, I sometimes get basic, inexpensive, or signature dish. If they do those things well and provide good service, I'll be back. I ordered the Spring Rolls (which other places often call Summer Rolls), that was gritty, fine-like sand was inside of the roll. Why?!? I LUV summer rolls, but left those un-eaten. I also ordered the Bhan Mi with BBQ pork. It had good flavor and the vegetables were fresh. The items were inexpensive, so I paid the who tab and tipped. The staff seems plentiful but scattered and the service uneven. I was immediately seated, had my order taken, and food came quickly. Then I was fairly ignored after. After having a customer repeatedly flip her hair near my food, I covered my half sandwhich and was ready to leave. I then waited about 15 mins before I was approached and was able to get a check. The young man who served me looked barely 15. He was kind and I sincerely appreciated his efforts. The entire staff, however, seem to need tips on customer service. If you want to pop in, pick up food, or to just eat and leave. This may be a fine spot. Also, there is free parking available. This time my food came a little bit colder than normal but everything was fine. After eating it, 30 mins later my face started to blow up, and had to be rushed to the ER. 4.5/5 STARS. Although I've lived in the area for awhile, it took my brother visiting from out of town for me to give Pho King a visit. We were seated right away, despite it being a very busy Friday lunch rush. They immediately served us water with an orange slice in it and brought us our menus. The atmosphere is pretty casual and the food is delicious. I tried the grilled chicken rice plate and had to physically stop myself from stuffing myself once I was full. I also tried the spring roll appetizer and it was outstanding, definitely a great starter plate for a party of two. The main course portions are pretty large, in my opinion, and very filling. They also offer different sizes of pho bowls for you to choose from, depending on how hungry you are. The service was friendly and enjoyable, and our food was served quickly, however, the rest of the time was spent waiting. The time in between being seated and ordering was at least 15 or so minutes, and after we completely finished our meal it was at least 20 minutes before we received our check. I'm not sure if it's because we were seated in the back corner or because they were busy, but it was a long wait time to order and pay. However, I'm giving this restaurant 4.5 stars instead of 4 because our server offered me a to-go Diet Coke and also remembered to refill it for me while we were eating - which is sounds pretty standard but you'd be surprised how often servers forget to offer refills. So I was born in Vietnam so I had legit authentic Vietnamese cuisine before. My boyfriend and I ordered the Thit Nuong with rice. I also ordered the egg rolls and Avocado boba tea (which i always order at any vietnamese restaurants.) Me and my boyfriend were so excited to eat here until we took our first bite. First off, the egg rolls were okay, but i definitely had better. The boba tea was really bland. The meat was chewy and there was absolutely no good pieces. Everything was just not good and we were so disappointed that we literally could not finish the whole meal. We asked for our checks about 15 minutes in. Our server would then stand next to us and WATCH us as we figure out our payment options. Which is weird having someone stare at you as if they were trying to see how much we would give them. The place was overall nice but the food lacked in capturing the true vietnamese flavors. Ordered takeout online this past Saturday. It was my first time ordering/eating from here as I always see the place due to working in the area. I ordered the medium-sized Pho ( with extra shrimp) and my bf got the chicken (not the chili with lemongrass) with fried rice. My order was ready when I arrived and the guy at the register was nice. The presentation of the food for it to be "to-go" was very nice and neat--that is really important to me, especially given the times we are in and I think many eateries forget that you eat with your eyes first. We came with a large group and were quickly seated because the restaurant was empty when we arrived but it filled up by the time we left. We tried the pho, vermicelli noodles, and beef rice. The vermicelli was hard (undercooked) and the grilled pork had a strange taste to it. The cubed beef rice lacked flavor. I heard the pho was better than the rice and vermicelli dishes. We also tried the mango bubble tea. They use a powder for the mango. Ample free parking from the back. Service was decent as they were very willing to customize each dish (e.g. no bean sprouts and onions, etc). This might be good for the location but this is not very good Vietnamese food. I ordered a medium sized Pho Dac Biet to go from the Pho King one night when I was craving some warm soup on a cold night. I arrived to pick up my order about 5 minutes earlier than the estimated pickup time and they already had it ready, which was quite nice. The amount of food they give it not bad, plenty of noodles and meat and broth to go along. They pack all the garnishes like basil, jalapenos, bell sprouts, and lime for you to add as much as you desire. The broth though was not exactly the best and tasted rather bland compared to some other pho restaurants I've been to. There wasn't really any depth to the flavor and tasted kind of watered down. My overall experience was pretty average, I don't think this place would be a must try in the area but a nice place to check out if you were craving pho. read more

When in the mood for some serious pho, nothing beats the super authentic pho houses like Dai Loi and Pho Bac in the suburbs of Atlanta. Short on time and with that fact in mind, my girlfriend and I made the short trek to Pho King from our Midtown apartment to grab a quick lunch. To test the waters of the humorously named restaurant's menu, we ordered our standard gui con, a medium bowl of pho dac biet for me, and grilled chicken vermicelli for her. The gui con's filling lacked flavor as the slices of pork and shrimp were underseasoned. The rice wrapper, fortunately, had a tender texture and a fresh taste. My girlfriend's chicken bun brought plenty of well-marinated protein over a generous portion of rice noodles. This serviceable rendition didn't blow our minds with smoky, fresh flavor but satisfied the craving for bun adequately enough. My pho dac biet evoked similar sentiments. The pho broth smelled fragrant, didn't feel watery, and carried a reasonably beefy flavor. It didn't possess the charred ginger/onion and spice notes I like, but it hit the spot with plenty of meat and noodles. Also, major props on the house chili oil that is found at every table, as it added a delicious kick to each bite of food (particularly the spring rolls and bun). Pho King doesn't quite live up to further away classics like our favorite Pho Bac, but that's not why you go there. When I need a conveniently located Vietnamese meal in Midtown, it doesn't get easier than Pho King. We'll gladly return when we're too lazy to drive to BuHi. read more

**My PHO KING favorite Pho spot, PHO SHO! Especially on a cold winter night!** I've been a pho snob for years and was so ecstatic when PHO KING Midtown decided to grace its new home near my home! Located in the heart of the Publix shopping center where there is plenty of parking, which is typically unheard of, especially in Atlanta. There are two entrance from the back from the garage, so it's convenient for someone who just shopped at Publix and then had a massive Pho craving attacks me. And there's the front entrance facing West Peachtree Street, across the street from Babalu's and next to a couple restaurants establishments. The have an extensive menu filled with many items, but I always get the same PHO order Wong Style here. I get their PHO Combo, which is raw meat on side, tripe, tendon, meat; however, I like to add extra tripe with my order. And, tons of veggies, especially the basil and jalapeños. Service here is fully staffed and servers have great attitude. Definitely stop by for a PHO tactic experience! read more

This place is pho king solid (sorry couldn't help myself). We tried the Bun Bo Luc Lac (vermicelli with marinated tenderloin beef chunks) and the Pho Tai (the eye round steak) as well as some tea and fresh lemonade. We all "supersized" our pho's because it's less than a $1 to go up to the extra large and these make for nice leftovers. The atmosphere is nice but busy as others have said. Our waiter barely spoke English which made for some challenge in communicating that we wanted an extra spoon to share our soup but it did seem to add to the authenticity of the place. They came for our order three times, almost seemingly rushing us, before we had chosen our dishes. The food came remarkably quick too. I really liked the vermicelli dish and the Pho was good but not the best Pho I've ever had (as others have mentioned I agree about the comment about the broth, kind of plain and simple but still good). Also, it seemed like the noodle-broth ratio might have been a little off but it was just me. Price wise this place is a great deal and you will not leave feeling hungry. for its convenient midtown location, free parking in publix/plaza midtown deck, and for making the entire block smell delicious, i must give pho king major credit. i appreciate that there is a section in the menu just for vegetarians. the vegetarian hu tieu has my favorite vegetarian broth in all of metro-atlanta (including buford hwy). i like to order this item with egg noodle instead of rice noodle. portion size is filling for sure! my meat-eating friends have also enjoyed their food orders here. i have never had to wait to be seated and every member of the staff i have interacted with has been very cordial. the service here is on and off, sometimes i did not have my water refilled the entire meal, sometimes they are very attentive and quick to serve you. food comes out before i become impatient so i guess that is quick enough. i wish they had a liquor license but they honestly do not need it. read more

I went to Pho King on my first day in Atlanta, when I was just wandering around midtown and trying to explore. I thought it was a grab and go place from the outside, but once I got inside someone sat me down at a table for one and I was too socially awkward to try and back out then. I tried to order the pho with tofu, but my waiter told me that I "didn't want that," and that I, "want this," and he opened my menu and pointed to the vegetable noodle soup. I just went with it, because again, I'm socially awkward and hate confrontation. The soup wound up being really good an it still came with all the toppings that you get with pho. I also ordered a taro bubble tea. It wound up being a frozen drink which was different from any bubble tea I've had previously and different from what I expected, but it was really really good so I have no complaints there. read more

Pho King is a good place if you are looking for Vietnamese cuisine in the Midtown area. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, although it can be busy during evenings. The service is quick and your dishes are served within 5-10 minutes of ordering most of the time. If it is busy, you may not get as many water refills as you would like. To pay at the end, sometimes the waiter will bring the check to the table, but I have seen most people go up to the counter to pay since it is a lot quicker. My favorite dish here is the V3 Bun Thit Nuong, Cha Gio, which consists of vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and crispy eggroll, mixed with bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, scallion, shredded carrot, cucumber, lettuce, and Vietnamese fish sauce. The portion size is decent for $9.95, and the pork and eggroll are quite savory. I order this almost every time I come here! The pho dishes come in sizes Small, Medium, and XX-Large. The XXL size is pretty large, so order it if you are feeling ambitious or very hungry (also leftovers)! I personally am not a big fan of pho, but I have tried the P1 Pho Tai and P3 Pho Gau dishes quite a few times and they were not as flavorful as I wanted, although the meat was pretty tender. In Pho circles is all Boils down to the broth it has to be clean,fresh,sweet to mild spice. Came to Pho King while my power was out on a chilly day (Irma-gerd). While there are plenty of amazing pho places on Buford Highway, those are far. Pho-King is a good option if you don't want to go far. FOOD: I had an XL Pho. The XL is huge and yummy. Plenty of beef, I had the rare kind. Was very happy. I took my leftovers to go and had it as a midnight snack. The have some oil based chili sauces at the table that I used for an extra kick. SERVICE: Good. No complaints. AMBIANCE: Pretty nice. I usually go for hole in the wall pho places, but this has prime location near me and Georgia Tech. They have some nice decor. OVERALL: Can get a good pho fix in Midtown? I'll be back! Pho, rice, and noodle restaurant with nice ambiance that is both convenient to Midtown and mass transit. Pho King is located on West Peachtree Street next to Pita Pit and right around the corner from Publix and the Midtown MARTA station. The restaurant does takeout and is decent for larger groups (up to 6-8) at lunchtime. It took between 10-15 minutes for my takeout order to be prepared during a bustling lunch hour. On the Menu: Pho King has a condensed menu in comparison to Vietnamese restaurants in Gwinnett County and off Buford Highway. Appetizers include spring rolls (in rice paper sheets), fried egg rolls, and papaya salad. Pho bowls come in small, medium, and large and only go from P1-P10 - but the menu will probably have your favorite cut of beef (eye round steak, flank steak, brisket, meatballs, tendon, tripe). There are two banh mi options. In addition, there is a collection of rice or vermicelli dishes featuring grilled shrimp, grilled pork, lemongrass chicken, grilled pork chop, or "shaking beef" (stir fried beef cubes). What I Tried: Bun Thit Nuong, Cha Gio (Vermicelli with Grilled Pork & Egg Roll - $9.95) - This dish came with a helping of sweet grilled barbecue pork, a scoop of rice noodles, one egg roll partially cut into bite sized chunks, a salad consisting of lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and other vegetables, and a small cup of fish sauce. Good amount of food for around $10 at a Midtown joint. The noodles were soft and the fish sauce was sweet and mild. I thought the pork could use some improvement. Not all of the pork was flavorful and some of the pieces were chewy. The ground filling in the egg roll had decent taste and the shell was somewhere in between crunchy and soggy. Salad was typical of what I'd expect with a Vietnamese noodle dish and was garnished with crispy onion. Verdict: With consideration of the main items in the dish (pork and egg roll), I'd rate the food at 3.5 stars. Positives bumping up Pho King to a 4 star rating are the decent portion size, the ambiance of the restaurant (nicely decorated and good for groups at lunch without being too loud), and the attentive service. Several servers saw me waiting for my takeout order and went back to the kitchen to check on it, which left me with a good impression. My brother in law told me to try Pho King out next time I was in GA because of my love for Pho and Noodles We ordered Spring Rolls as an appetizer. They were delicious. Kese loved the dipping sauce so much she poured it on her entree. Lol. A little trick I do when the dipping sauce taste too much like peanut butter add a little soy sauce and stir it. Makes a huge difference. I ordered the P10 minus the tripe and tendon. My foolish butt ordered the XXL bowl and it was humongous and I didn't put a dent in it. I knew better. I have dinner for later though. The broth was very flavorful and the star anise flavor wasn't over powering as I've tasted in some Beef pho. The beef was very tender and there was also a lot of meat. It was one of the best Pho's I've had. Will definitely add this on my list of things to do when in GA. Went to Pho king totally by accident. Walking around peachtree heading somewhere else, I saw the sign and remembered that it was on my bookmark list. In any case, we went it and gave it a shot. The menu selection is smaller than most that I've seen but good. I got the meatball pho and my friend for the beef pho. I really enjoyed my dish. The both was flavor full and the meatball pretty darn good. Everything was well prepared but nothing blew me away. I also got a side of the grilled pork chunk. I gotta say, I really like that they offer that option. I was torn between the pho and the rice dish (because of the grilled meat) and the fact that they have the side portion for a very reasonable charge is awesome. The meat was good. A bit dry in my opinion but nice flavors nonetheless. The service took a while to get going but when it did, the waitress was attentive and nice. So glad they put this pho spot in one of my fave parts of Midtown. The dining area is not huge, but it was clean and well-laid out. I ordered the shrimp egg rolls and the XL pho with brisket. Both were very delicious and the pho in particular was a good portion for the price. Despite this, I gave it three stars because I was about to eat my soup in traditional manner by embracing the Asian culture and using chopsticks like everyone else around me. Mind you, I am quite familiar with chopsticks and I enjoy using them everytime I eat Asian cuisine (which is often). However, before I could even begin, my waitress takes one look at me and asks me if I wanted a fork. A fork?? To eat my noodle soup?? Why didn't she ask the other non-Black diners around me the same question? (I'm just saying...) It definitely rubbed me the wrong way, but I politely told her "no thanks" and immediately put my chopsticks to work as always. Great Asian food is hard to come by in Midtown. This is especially true for great affordable Asian food. The price and quality is as close as you can get to the gems on Buford highway without having to drive. Every time I'm in the area I can smell the grilled protein and pho walking by. We have been here on many occasions when we crave a good pho and don't want to battle rush hour traffic to get it. The vegan pho is flavorful and hearty. Stop fooling around and just get the xl! The summer rolls are made fresh so no premade hard skin. The veggie spring roll are small for the price but good. My husband likes their veggie stir fry noodles. We have dined here with guest and they rave about their shrimp fried rice and shrimp spring rolls. There is free parking in the building lot (same building as Publix). The employee are efficient and helpful. The only thing that would make them five stars for me is to have a vegetarian and vegan bahn mi option. read more

Best Chicken Pho I've ever had! My medium Chicken Pho was quite large and tasted amazing, pricing was reasonable compared to other Pho places. Options of other menu items to pick from were quite large, restaurant was very modern unless competitors and much more cleaner, and the waiter my waiter was very patient with me. The restaurant is a chain and has a few other locations in the metro Atlanta but this one seems to have catch my eye with other walkable things near by like Vibe Ride, Publix, Insomnia Cookies, and Midtown Station so if you are on foot or coming in a car you definitely won't have any trouble getting here. I would definitely recommend you give them a try if you love eating pho, looking for a new pho place, and/or in the midtown around looking to try pho! read more
