It's been freezing so my coworker recommended this local pho place next to her home for lunch. It's well known in the community so I wanted to give it the good ol' college try. We ordered for takeout so we can stay in from the cold. It was nothing special to me. I ordered the small brisket flank steak pho and there was a lot of fat on the meat pieces and wasn't much meat; maybe 8 pieces. The soup wasn't super flavorful, even after I included the hoisin, basil, sprouts, and lime. It mostly had that fatty taste in the broth which turned me off to it. I know way better places that I would drive to in Berkeley for better pho but it was a decent meal for the cold weather. They also forgot to give us chopsticks and napkins in the pick-up bag. Pho Lee Hoa Phat is a chain of Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area, but not all of them taste the same. (Not to be confused with Pho Huynh Hiep - Kevin's Noodle House!) This is one of the better locations. The soup was GOOD. We've been to other locations where the broth was unfortunately bland... A bit tricky to find as its inside the Seafood City Supermarket, but its still a separate restaurant with about 10+ tables. Not really a suitable option for a party larger than 4, but there is some additional food court style seating adjacent. Jalapenos - Spicy! (That's when you know it's good!) Nem nuong was the best part for me. A savory blend of this sweet, Vietnamese sausage with a crunchy eggroll wrapper inside, dipped in peanut sauce...Yum! Parking was a breeze in the Seafood City lot, and the restaurant is conveniently located to the left once you enter. We checked in at the cash register to get seated. We had the beef pho with thinly sliced steak, well-done brisket, and flank, which I didn't realize came in small, medium, and large sizes (though the menu only listed one price, so I'm not sure of the difference). The BBQ pork with egg roll and vermicelli was so good that it actually inspired us to try making it at home. The shredded pork roll also paired perfectly with the sauce that came with the BBQ pork dish. If this is on the menu, 9 times out of 10 it's gonna be an authentic spot. My only recommendation would be to ensure tables and cups are cleaned more thoroughly between customers as ours still had some crumbs. That aside, the food was fantastic and tasted super amazing. My family and I are regular customers of Pho Lee Hoa Phat 1 in Pleasant Hill. Recently, a Vietnamese acquaintance of mine told me he prefers Pho Lee Hoa Phat 5 in Concord because of larger portions and cheaper prices. Intrigued by this information, my family and decided to give this place a try on 06/19/2024. This family-owned shop is located in the food court area of Seafood City Supermarket. It was about 5:30pm when we walked in, and the owners were busy in the back. After our presence was noticed by the female owner, we were immediately greeted and seated. The space was tiny, but clean and pretty well organized. The walls were decorated with pictures of food and beautiful scenery. The menu here was near identical to that of its sister restaurants. We got three bowls of Pho Dac Biet Xe Lua ($13 each) and an order of Goi Cuon (fresh spring rolls) to share ($10). Prices were the same as their sister restaurant in Pleasant Hill. Our food arrived quickly. Comparing to their Pleasant Hill location, the Pho Dac Biet here was served in a smaller bowl and the quantity and quality were pretty much the same. The same could be said about the spring rolls. They were nicely wrapped and tasted fresh. Service we received was good. The female owner was really sweet and treated us well. She refilled our water on a couple occasions, and she was really nice to my mom, which I appreciated very much. To sum it up, I found the prices, quality, and quantity here to be the same as their Pleasant Hill location. As such, you will not gain or lose anything by choosing one over the other. 4 stars. Good solid pho. I've had a lot of pho in my life meaning I can be a bit picky so please keep that in mind. We ordered a small rare steak pho and then a normal combination pho, which I'm assuming is a large one. I took a picture for reference. I love when there are size options for pho because of the affordability and option to really make sure you don't leave any food waste. Pho doesn't do well overnight without separating the noodle and Broth in different containers, so I prefer to finish it all in one sitting. Pho analysis: the broth had good flavor and is enjoyable without any added condiments. I love to have a good amount of green herbs in my pho so I appreciated that it came with a solid amount. Not the most, but not the least. There was plenty of meat in both the combination and rare steak pho. Sometimes the rare steak pho has much less when compared to the combination of multiple meat pho, but I felt like it was a very reasonable ratio. The onion slices are thinly sliced, which I prefer, I just wish there were more than a few. However, they have just enough green onion to make up for it. The egg rolls were very good, great filling by and nothing too soft or too hard. No complaints, all compliments for them. Also noticed they offer red viniger! I don't normally see it on the table of Vietnamese places so I wanted to give them points for options. Bbq Pork rice plate with shredded pork skin: This is my all time favorite Vietnamese rice plate dish. It usually comes with the pork chop that is boned in, but I prefer the boneless version. It comes with your vegetables on the side and a bowl of broth. The pork was cooked nicely and there was a fair amount of it on the plate. The shredded pork skin is my favorite and I love the amount they give you. The meat was not too salty, and had a fair amount of flavor. The folks at this pho spot are very friendly and we fondly call each other "friend" when we see each other. We've gotten so used to the nickname that I haven't made any effort to actually ask for the lady's name - which I should. We like ordering the smoothie with boba because they're fresh fruits. Our go to is the avocado and the mango smoothie. The beef pho and the seafood soup has really good broth and they've always been generous with the amount of meat that's added to the meal. It didn't seem like a small at all and definitely made me super full. It does come with all the vegetables and aromatics, but I eat like a 5 year old, so just meat and noodles for me. I liked that the meat balls weren't super fatty. I've had that in the past in places and I have to spit it out. I also ordered an egg roll appetizer, that came with 4 large egg rolls and a bun thit nuong cha goi (vermicelli with bbq pork and another egg roll). I had to save that for the next day since the pho filled me up. Everything arrived as ordered and tasted great. Would definitely order everything again. It is located inside the Seafood City shopping center and while it may be a smaller location and not as glamorous as it's other Vietnamese shop counterparts, this is my go to place for when I'm craving a hot bowl of pho or a BBQ rice plate. Some of my favorite items Chà Giò AKA Fried Egg Roll: fried Vietnamese style egg roll with pork and root vegetables, always fried to perfection, Phó Bò Viên AKA beef ball and noodles, a classic for when you need a warm comforting bowl of pho. Cóm Bò AKA BBQ beef with shrimp cake and rice, contains a lot of food, my leftovers always end up being another meal for me. This place is fast causal. You order your food, they bring it out and when you're finished you pay in front. Even during peak hours they usually only have one or two people working so be aware that service may be a bit slow at times but other than that it is a pretty solid place to eat considering how cheap the food is while still retaining quality and their generous portions. Pho Lee Hoa Phat is located inside Seafood City. I've been to Seafood City a bunch of times before but this past week was my first time trying out Pho Lee Hoa Phat. We normally eat at Jollibee or Chowking but I saw the news article about the rat infestation there recently LOL so we decided to get Vietnamese instead. I ordered the #5 Pho: Chin Nam Gau Gan Sach which has well done flank, brisket, tendon and tripe. It was about $7 for a small. It tasted pretty good and consistent with other Pho restaurants I've been to. Service was kinda ehhh but still alright considering it's a restaurant inside a grocery store. It's not bad if you're just looking for a quick meal while you grocery shop but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here just for a meal if I had other Vietnamese Restaurant options. read more

This is a hidden gem of the Pho Lee Hoa Phat chain. I believe the surrounding market has been renovated and it looks really nice and clean. The quantity, quality, and price of the food is really outstanding. I placed my order on the phone and they called me promptly when it was ready for pickup. On arrival, the server was very welcoming and friendly. The inside seating area is not very big but this location perfect for ordering takeout. They even gave me a free soda with my large order - maybe also because I paid cash this time. There aren't many places that make the A8 spring rolls which are my daughter's favorite.
