The food was very delicious and the staff was very nice! The atmosphere didn't change much from the Thai place that was here previously. The tile floors keep it cool, and the tall ceilings add to the sound bouncing around. The pho was really good and the brisket was not fatty. The shaking beef was delicious, and the avocado rolls were also very tasty. The staff was very nice but not super attentive. Our water glasses were empty several times during our meal. I'd come back because the food is that good and the staff is very nice.

Newer place in downtown Martinez, cute, charming. Vietnamese food is usually a tad simpler than say that of Thai food, think more of a country style feel to it. We started with the crispy imperial rolls - the sauce is more vinaigrette in style, different. Could have used a couple more leaves of lettuce, MAYBE add some fresh cilantro or mint so one can wrap the little roll up in lettuce with the shredded carrots & a leaf or two of mint or cilantro; just saying. Onto the mains: hubby ordered the basil fried rice with chicken - this is a shareable item, which he should have separated out onto his dish to eat. The dish was good, but just not what he was thinking it would be. I ordered the vermicelli noodle salad bowl with shrimp; I've had this bowl many times before at different Vietnamese restaurants, usually at least the shrimp are served piping hot, the noodles would be slightly warm - here the noodles are cold, as were the shrimp, meh . I know maybe it's their style of cooking, just not quite hitting the mark for me. Service was good. Immediately greeted at the door & seated, water is directly brought out. Overall, I'd be back, I'll ask next time that my shrimp come out hot if possible.

Today for lunch, I wanted to try their pho đặc biệt and it was delicious! That broth was so good that I cleared my whole bowl. It reminded me of the pho my dad would make at home. You can tell the freshness, flavor, clarity, and aroma of the broth in the first sip) The shrimp spring rolls are very good too! I opted for the fish sauce instead of peanut sauce because my friend is allergic to peanuts, but I would definitely come back again and invite my friends. They had lots of seating and the hosts were very well attentive to all the folks that came in for lunch. I highly recommend getting the pho dac biệt (Special Pho)!

I made sure this place was open for a while before I tried it. They replaced Lemongrass bistro. Really disappointing food. We ordered through door dash. We didn't want to order too much, only to just try it for quality sake and flavors. The only thing I liked was the rice. We ordered drunken noodles, and a wok fried eggplant with chicken. The drunken noodles and no flavor whatsoever. The chicken in both dishes was dried out and not appetizing at all and cut in odd squares. The eggplant dish tasted like something I could make with just soy sauce in a pan. Don't think I will return. What a shame to lose Lemongrass for this. Starting to think a couple or so of these glowing reviews are family or friends as most only have one review and it's this place.

On the quaint corner in downtown Martinez, there is this tiny oasis of absolute deliciousness. My wife and I used to go to the previous restaurant and it was good, not gonna lie. But, I think this place has outdone its predecessor by leaps and bounds. From the calming atmosphere and relaxing background music to the ever present and super kind waitstaff, everything about this eating experience was top-notch. Our appetizer was unexpectedly decadent (in the best way possible), and our equally-delicious entrées were soon to follow at a perfect time. we were cared for, we were looked after, we had AMAZING food at a super affordable price, and we can't wait to become regulars at this soon-to-be landmark on Main Street in Martinez.

This was our second time eating at Kim Phongs, and both times they've hit it out of the park. Absolutely delicious. The service is wonderful and the food couldn't be better. I had to finally write a review because this is the only pho place where my left over Pho broth coagulated in the fridge. THAT is how you know its quality broth. I love this place.

I had the drunken noodle and the yellow curry with chicken and prawns. Very good, taste just like it did when it was lemon grass!

It's a charming area, and the Market & Main food court is such an inviting place with several takeout options. I decided to get a banh mi dinner for Jamie W and me, so I ordered the $9.50 Large Pork Belly Sandwich (Photo 4) and the $9.50 Large Five-Spice Chicken Sandwich (Photo 2) for us to share. Both came with a slathering of pate which was definitely a plus. We both agreed they were decent but so dominated by the bread and veggies that the proteins didn't have a chance. Surprisingly, the highlight turned out to be the $1.50 Parmesan Cheese Corn, a pair of munchable cobettes that worked as a contrasting flavor and texture (Photo 6). They offer other dishes like vermicelli plates and pho bowls, so I may need to consider those options if there's a next time. I was excited to see the size of the Bahn Mi sandwich, but disappointed in the texture of the bread. For me the bread makes a sandwich especially a Bahn Mi. The bread was a little hard into it. Was not sure it was fully fresh. The pork belly was rubbery & very thinly sliced and more veggie than meat. The wings came with the Korean sauce on them already, than on the side. The Korean sauce was soy sauce forward instead of a balanced flavor. Not a fan. The pickled papaya was not spicy & was pickled in a sweet pickling marinade. I guess I was expecting it to taste more vinegar forward. I have had plenty of Bahn Mi sandwiches in the area this was my least favorite.

We landed on Pho May and we were so pleased to find a solid pho place so close to our house! The restaurant itself is exactly what you'd imagine for a Vietnamese restaurant - super inviting, Vietnamese decor, friendly employees, and heavenly smell of food coming from the kitchen. We got pho ga (chicken pho) and pho tai (rare beef pho) to go, along with a Thai iced tea. All of them were stellar. The broth for both soups were very flavorful, not too salty, and most importantly piping hot! The portions of meat, noodles, and toppings were very generous and super fresh. The prices are also super reasonable for the quality of the food. We will definitely be back - this is our new go-to spot in Martinez for pho!

I ordered a 15 and a Thai tea. The broth was awesome. I was hoping for some Basil but got cilantro instead. The shrimp was good but the rest of the seafood lacked flavor. It didn't matter how much hoisen sauce and sriracha I put I couldn't get the right flavor flavor. The tea was kind of bland. Not sure if it was mostly milk and not enough tea or if the tea was just not as strong as in other places. Also this isn't so much their fault and I know fixing systems are hard but it being cash only makes it difficult. Luckily there was a bank down the St and I was able to get some cash. All in all it was "good" I might give it one more try or maybe two more tries because I want to taste their sandwich and the beef pho. Hopefully my next experience is better.

Bf ordered the lemongrass thai fried rice, he liked it said it was balanced not too powerful, light but flavorful. The walk there was a bit bumpy so heads up to my disabled friends like myself I almost tripped a few times on my walk to this location so be careful because the side walk was uneven. The place was a nice enjoyable environment with character so I didn't mind myself having a hard time walking through because I was enjoying the vibes of being in a pleasant area.
