I've been coming to this spot for years with my in-laws, and it's become one of our go-to Thai restaurants. Our "must order every time" is the BBQ pork fried rice it's honestly one of my favorite dishes there and never disappoints. We've tried a good mix of their menu over the years, and everything has consistently been really good. We usually order a curry, noodles like pad Thai or pad see ew, and a few other dishes to share. Whether it's just two of us or a group of four, the food always comes out quickly and fresh. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but they do a great job turning tables and keeping things moving without making you feel rushed. Also, their Thai tea is really good. Today i decided to try something new so i ordered fried rice from them, and upon opening the container, omg, it looked like rice cake instead of fried rice. It is so soggy and mushy, almost cook a little bit longer and it turns into porridge for you. I could not believe my favorite Thai place could serve such food to the customer, so i kept digging through the whole container to see if the underneath layer will be better, but nope, it was way worse. I broke my plastic spoon trying to scoop up the rice, which tells you how wet the rice was. I just don't understand, how could they have the heart to serve such food to the customer? I first went here a few years back, and dropped in recently for lunch the other day because I was craving Thai papaya salad. Glad to know that My Thai's food is still as delicious as the first time I had it! The papaya salad was exactly what I was expecting - satisfyingly crunchy, refreshing, and tangy. It was the perfect side to go with our other food selections. Thai BBQ chicken with sticky rice -- tender, juicy, full of flavor. With the sticky rice and papaya salad? Ultimate combo! And of course, Pad See Ew, a classic. The perfect noodle side dish to accompany your meal! Our food came out steaming hot, and rather quickly since we came in on a weekday afternoon. Our server checked in with us multiple times, which we appreciated. And our total for the meal was decently priced. We were very happy! My Thai is nestled in a small plaza in Pleasant Hill, across from the Grocery Outlet in the area. They have a decent amount of parking, but can get pretty congested when busy. The restaurant is a good size, moderate amount of seating available, but can easily fill up on a busy night. Cute little restaurant filled with flowers! My partner suggested My Thai for dinner with another friend. I had never been but he has been several times. We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer - yummy and really HOT (fresh, not spicy). We then had Tom yum soup for the table with Shrimp. Very good, lovely broth and good amount of shrimp for 3 people. My partner got the BBQ combo. I tasked the meats (chicken, pork and beef). All were tender and delicious. I had the Pad See Ew with shrimp and it was VERY good. Also a lot for the whole table to share and we still didn't finish it all. Our friend had pork on rice and said it was very good. Service was good and they refilled our waters several times. I need to try more of their dishes. To be able to give a fair and objective opinion. I had their Tom Kha Thai soup (coconut soup). Which was pretty good. Luckily I read what they put in it. Otherwise I wouldn't have been happy. They put baby corn in it. Which I am not a fam of at all. I have never heard of it in this dish. I had them leave it out. I had them add carrots and onions in stead. Otherwise it's just mushrooms and the meat. Which would be seriously lacking. Hopefully their other dishes are better. Typically it's a Thai soup made with coconut milk. The name translates to "boiled galangal", and the soup is made with a base of coconut milk, galangal, lemongrass, and lime leaves. now, I ordered a pad kee mao and a thai tea on uber eats. I opened it and I noticed how mushy the noodles were and at this point it wasn't even noodles , it was like a rice mash potato. I ate it because I was hungry and I didn't have anything to eat that day. A few hours later my stomach started to hurt very bad, I couldn't even walk. I was knocked for about 2 hours and I got better eventually. Then the next morning i got sick again. Right now I am still sick , I can't eat other foods without the feeling of nausea. This is my go-to Thai restaurant ever since I found this place on Yelp. The staff is so friendly and the service is on point. They greet you when you enter, grab your water and utensils and place on table then cater to what you want to order. Timing to receive food is perfect. Just enough to get yourself ready soon after I go to their bathroom to wash my hands. My faves: Shrimp Pad Thai (OMG).. let me just say it's far from dry and super worth just driving 35min to eat this here. My son fave: Beef Pad Se Ew Hubby fave: BBQ Pork Fried Rice All time faves: Panang Beef, sticky rice, Chicken Yellow Curry, Pork Green Curry, Roti Yellow Curry (not on menu), Tom Yum Seafood or Chicken I can go on and on because their food is just amazing. Came in around 8pm or so(they close at 9pm) Right off the back it felt homey you know- a place where you would like to end your day at along side a hot plate of goodness, especially on these past rainy days. Tasty food, nice staff, easy to get to location! The location is right on contra costa, which is easy to get to, but the parking lot can be a pain depending on the time of day. The staff is very nice, and will get your seated promptly if they are not busy - I've seen some waits around dinner time. The food is tasty. We enjoyed the curry, and beef noodles. The soup was interesting ... mostly just a curry that was a little more viscus. The spring rolls were nice, but nothing over the top. The atmosphere is cute, but they have lots of boxes built up which takes away from the vibe they were going for with all the art and plants. My first time here. The amibiance is very inviting and charming. The music playing in the background is at good volume and nice to listen to while dining. I ordered a house salad and pork pad Thai. Both were delicious, a bit heavy handed on the salad dressing but the vegetables in the salad were fresh and crisp. The pad Thai was a good serving for one. So glad I found this Thai place! Their food is really flavorful and I love that the pad Thai noodles don't clump up and stick together - cooked perfectly. I've tried the red curry with shrimp, pad thai with shrimp, and Tom yum with shrimp. Also tried the thai tea which was good. All the food was good but my favorite is the red curry. Such rich and delicious flavor! My wife really likes the pad thai. I would recommend the Tom yum if you are feeling under the weather. It has a sour taste to it, probably the lemon grass. It's delicious! There's no noodles in the soup it's mostly broth and veggies plus a protein. Shout out to the customer service team! Samantha and Zach were both really nice. We asked if they had a dairy free version of the thai tea and they didn't but Samantha said they could technically make it with coconut milk. We declined but she went above and beyond and brought us a small sample of it anyway. My wife really liked it and decided to get it. Really loved the service here. The only negative thing I can say is that the young daughter of the owner was blasting the sound on her iPad. It is a little overwhelming for guests who might be neurodiverse or easily overstimulated by sound. I would recommend maybe getting headphones for her or lowering the sound. Of course I understand accommodations have to be made for children but the sound was a little overwhelming. Will definitely be returning! We've been looking for a good Thai restaurant for a while now and have been left with mixed results. My Thai has lunch specials that cost around $12 and the entrees are reasonably priced. We recently came here for lunch and each enjoyed our curry lunch specials. I ordered green curry and my wife tried their red curry. We really liked the spice level and good flavors developed in the curries. The ambience is friendly and culturally decorative. The wait staff is very nice and we really enjoyed our food. The lunch specials come with a simple salad that has a miso dressing. We asked for chilies in the fish sauce, a side condiment that is spicy and salty and we really enjoyed the meal. We will keep coming back to My Thai, we recently ordered another dish of Prig King and loved the spice level. Seating was comfort although it was pretty empty. Lunch menu was inexpensive and had plenty of choices. Salad were good, dressing just right. Our entrees were brought out quickly and piping hot. There were 2 of us and we orders the Pad Thai and the Pad See Ew. Both dishes lacked spices and the kick on flavors, bland but not in need of salt. Just didn't have the spices, fragrant or the sophistication in flavors. It tasted very much like some noodles stir fried together w ingredients. Yes, which is what the dishes are but something's missing from both dishes -- I don't have a finger on it.
