    Panang Curry
    Rhett R.

Just started a new job in Pleasant Hill and needed something savory for lunch--curry always seems to do the trick. This spot is right down the street from my office and easy to get to, which makes it a great lunch option. The food was delicious and very flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. I ordered the Panang curry lunch special with beef, and it definitely hit the spot. I'd definitely go back and try more items on the menu.

They packaged all the food very well, and I thought all the portions were generous! Would order from here again.

Solid Thai food option in Pleasant Hill. The decor stands out at this place. We ordered the sizzling seafood platter, the pineapple roast duck curry, and the chicken pad see ew. The sizzling seafood platter was tasty but not very sizzling. The duck curry was great.

I've been coming to this spot for years with my in-laws, and it's become one of our go-to Thai restaurants. Our "must order every time" is the BBQ pork fried rice it's honestly one of my favorite dishes there and never disappoints. We've tried a good mix of their menu over the years, and everything has consistently been really good. We usually order a curry, noodles like pad Thai or pad see ew, and a few other dishes to share. Whether it's just two of us or a group of four, the food always comes out quickly and fresh. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but they do a great job turning tables and keeping things moving without making you feel rushed. Also, their Thai tea is really good. I'm pretty picky about Thai tea because some places make it overly sweet or watered down, but they get it right!

Amazing food experience! We've been to Bangkok last year and so far, this is the only place that satisfies our Thai craving! Service is efficient & staff are nice! Ambiance is with the usual Thai aesthetics, although building is kinda old compared to the new Thai establishments in Pleasant Hill.

Took my picky nephews for Thai food and they could not stop eating the beef soup and the beef bbq! The owner was so sweet, she offered the boys fried ice cream, which they loved. The ambiance is very relaxing and family friendly!

Great papaya salad. Tom yum was ok, the juicy shrimp in it made it decent. Its flavor was more gentle/light, and tomato-ish compared to other tom yum I have had. Prices & portions were very fair. I will say tom yum for this portion is great for the area. Cute, feminine & floral decorations. Their service was attentive and my meals came out quick.

Hidden spot tucked away in a shopping center! Very good and flavorful food with great service from staff. Staff was attentive and quick, food came out quick and hot! I got the drunken noodles with was full of veggie and chicken, I wish it had a tad bit more noodles itself but great flavor and fresh! I'd return to try more off their menu!

This is one of my and my husband's go-to spots for Thai food in the East Bay. I first went here a few years back, and dropped in recently for lunch the other day because I was craving Thai papaya salad. Glad to know that My Thai's food is still as delicious as the first time I had it! The papaya salad was exactly what I was expecting - satisfyingly crunchy, refreshing, and tangy. It was the perfect side to go with our other food selections. Thai BBQ chicken with sticky rice -- tender, juicy, full of flavor. With the sticky rice and papaya salad? Ultimate combo! And of course, Pad See Ew, a classic. The perfect noodle side dish to accompany your meal! Our food came out steaming hot, and rather quickly since we came in on a weekday afternoon. Our server checked in with us multiple times, which we appreciated. And our total for the meal was decently priced. We were very happy! My Thai is nestled in a small plaza in Pleasant Hill, across from the Grocery Outlet in the area. They have a decent amount of parking, but can get pretty congested when busy. The restaurant is a good size, moderate amount of seating available, but can easily fill up on a busy night. This is, and will stay, one of our go-to Thai restaurants when we're craving it and are visiting this area.

I always get their mango sticky rice when I am having a bad day, they make it perfectly and it's a good portion

    Mushy soggy pineapple fried rice

I usually ordered TomYum noodle soup from this place, and their soup flavor was very good. Today i decided to try something new so i ordered fried rice from them, and upon opening the container, omg, it looked like rice cake instead of fried rice. It is so soggy and mushy, almost cook a little bit longer and it turns into porridge for you. I could not believe my favorite Thai place could serve such food to the customer, so i kept digging through the whole container to see if the underneath layer will be better, but nope, it was way worse. I broke my plastic spoon trying to scoop up the rice, which tells you how wet the rice was. I just don't understand, how could they have the heart to serve such food to the customer? It's like they overcooked the rice and instead of throwing it away, they fried it anyway and serve it to me. What are they treating me as? Their garbage can?

Their curry chicken is watered down and can barely taste the curry itself. Authentic but not authentic enough.

I gave Imm Thai another try, tried Thai Table, and even Glom Thai (which replaced Sistory), but none of them had the same quality or flavors I had been missing. I also loved Banana Leaf in El Cerrito before it closed, so I figured those days were over. Then I found out the owners of Sistory had opened Saneh Bangkok in Pleasant Hill, so we decided to celebrate my aunt's birthday there. Wow, it exceeded all of our expectations. Every single dish was outstanding, and honestly, even better than I remembered from Sistory. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Red Curry, Spring Rolls, and the fried chicken with roti and Massaman curry. Everything was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and packed with flavor. The noodles had that authentic wok flavor I'd been searching for, the curry was rich and delicious, and the roti with Massaman curry was absolutely incredible. The portions were generous, the service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience reminded me why I loved Sistory so much in the first place. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert, but next time I am definitely getting the mango sticky rice! As if that wasn't enough, I also learned the owners are behind Thai Lao Pakaoma in El Cerrito, which took over the old Banana Leaf location--and it's only five minutes from my house! Now I'm even more excited to try that one too. If you were a fan of Sistory or Banana Leaf, do yourself a favor and check out Saneh Bangkok. It brought back everything I'd been missing, and I can't wait to go back.

Dining is available at the bar or inside the dining room. Staff throughout the meal were fantastic with communication. Started off with the tom yum soup which was decent. Flavors were on the muted side of the spectrum. The lychee salad was quite nice as it had a slight kick to it. Surprisingly, there were a few gigantic prawns as part of this salad! The fried vegetarian egg rolls were decent and came with a dipping sauce. The pork satay was quite Americanized as the pork was on the leaner side and cooked towards a well done. The satay sauce was quite muted too. The crab fried rice was tasty and featured a generous amount of crab on top. Favorites included the short rib which was gigantic and super tender. The curry was decent too. This came with a side of jasmine rice. Opted for the sweet roti along with the mango sticky rice. Both were tasty. The mangoes were ripe and the sticky rice was quite tasty with the condensed milk. ~$60/head after tax and gratuity for dinner.

There was a slight mishap this time though I made the reservation about three days before Valentine's Day and received a confirmation text. Then the day before Valentine's Day, I got another text saying my reservation was canceled, which definitely threw me off. Thankfully, I called the restaurant and they were able to get everything situated and reinstate my reservation. That was a relief. When we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess who asked if we had a reservation and then directed us to our table. I really liked our table location it felt comfortable and perfect for a date night. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and set the tone for a great evening. And we only found out about it toward the end of the month. Hopefully, if they consider this type of promotion again, they'll advertise it more broadly. As for the food, we ordered some of our usual favorites, like their curry dishes. But this time, we also wanted to be adventurous and try something new/different, so we went with the following: Basil Duck Stir-Fry: This dish features "wok-fried crispy duck" with carrots, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, baby corn, and basil leaves. It was savory and delicious. However, I wouldn't describe the duck as "crispy," especially with the sauce softening it. That said, the flavor was still excellent, and we really enjoyed it. Pad See Ew: A classic Thai dish made with wide rice noodles stir-fried with egg, broccoli, and carrots, flavored with a dark sweet soy sauce. The wise noodles were nicely cooked and soaked up all that rich, sweet flavor. Definitely a favorite. One note of caution: when it comes to spice level, "medium" here means spicy! We ordered medium for all our dishes and were sweating by the end of the meal! Next time, we'll definitely go with mild. Service was excellent, and the restaurant was very nice and super well air-conditioned on the inside.
