Decent place, when in the Brandon area I usually go to Pho Viet but noticed this place on map search and tried it out. The Hue Tieu what's pretty good, they use pork broth and not chicken broth which is good but I wasn't a fan of the glass noodles. I like my egg noodles in my Hue Tieu. The Goi Cuon was good but the peanut sauce was pretty bland. My waiter was really nice, friendly and was running around waiting on people. Definitely a good server. read more

While visiting in town I had a craving for some PHO. I ordered a large meatball PHO It's ago. When I walked into the restaurant you could tell they were always busy there were several to go orders and many people eating inside, this says a lot about a place. When I walked in I was greeted right away and the staff was very friendly. When I finally did get to sit down and eat my soup I was delighted. What a great experience! This was my first time trying Vietnamese cuisine. I've never had anything like it before, so I have nothing to compare it to. All I can say is that everything we ordered was flavorful, and we enjoyed it very much. This is a family owned restaurant, and the couple who owns it makes everything from scratch using their own family recipes. The service was very good. Rachelle was very helpful, and explained everything with great detail knowing that this was our first experience at this restaurant. So, we started out with the Jasmine tea and Vietnamese iced coffee. Both were prepared perfectly. The tea was loose leaf, and not the tea bags that most restaurants use nowadays. It had a beautiful Jasmine aroma. The coffee was a little sweeter than others that I've had recently. It was still very good, it just didn't have that bittersweet taste. It was nice and creamy. We also shared the fried shrimp rolls (6 rolls). These were so yummy. I liked that the shrimp was sprinkled with black pepper before being wrapped and fried. It gave it a great taste. Mom was also very happy with this choice of appetizer. We also enjoyed the Tom/Thit Nuong. It was the rice noodle bowl with grilled pork and shrimp. The shrimp were very large and tasty. I liked how it was presented in a large bowl with pickled carrots and daikon with mint leaves and perfectly marinated pork over rice noodles. The sauce is served separately, and we poured it over the contents of the bowl. It was all very tasty. We were too full for dessert, but they offer 2 traditional Che desserts. They'll give you samples of it if you're unsure on which one to select. I may try the Che Thai next time. I was so excited when I heard that s Pho place is opening up next to our house. It was maybe 5 minutes from our house. So today we finally have the time to go and give it a try. I ordered the iced coffee ..noodles dish forgot the name but it's not pho. Both of my girls ordered the grill chicken rice dish. They both love it. They say to give it s 5 star. We brought home the left over for their Dad who also say it was good. We will return to try other items on the me Where should I begin.. ..I was so excited to go back and try the Pho. It's was around 5:00pm. We were the only one there and we were told to sit anywhere we like. My girls always get the same thing which is the grilled chicken with rice. They say it tastes dry and rough. I agree. I ordered the fresh shrimp rolls just to try it. It was warm like the they heated for a few seconds to soften the wrapper. I ask our waitress to see if we can get a fresh one... as I watched her take it back and grab two more out of the container. I was told they make it ahead of time because of dinner rush. .. not good. My pho was just okay. I was just so disappointed. I didn't barely eat my pho. I took it home and the fresh shrimp rolls too. My girls took their food home too. We were planning to go to Sonic's when we spotted this Vietnamese restaurant and decided to give them a try. We came in at 7:40pm and they let us dine in even though they closed at 8pm, that was a great gesture since it was our bad. They seated us and the owner was talking to us and explaining why they had to social distance us and we were completely okay with that as they were just following protocol and can't ask for more. We looked at their menu on their website since they were a little busy and we wanted to make it painless for them since we were going to eat fast. We got the P1 House Special Pho and P3 Meatball Pho in regular sizes. The waitress was very nice and was very attentive. The pho was a little more expensive that we are used to as their regular pho was $10 and large was $12 but we gave it a shot. We received our food within 10 minutes and the meatball portion was HUGE! The noodles and broth were good and I didn't think it would make me full but it did! I was very pleased with this place. On a search for local Vietnamese restaurants because my girlfriend is obsessed with Pho, (Hahaha!) we found this spot on Google. Immediately after checking out the menu online & we came to Yelp to see photos & reviews. Due to the menu selections & photo visuals, my girlfriend believed this was going to be the best Vietnamese experience in Brandon so far - and it was!! We arrived & took a boomerang via Instagram of the front of the establishment, & then walked inside & asked for a table of two. (Most Asian restaurants in the area are still only offering take-out.) There were 3 others parties seated inside, all seemingly enjoying their meals at tables that were spaced apart far enough to adhere to social distancing regulations. Greeted immediately by both employees working the floor, one employee who ended up being our server, Spencer, took us to our seats. Spencer, we soon discovered, was on his very first day! The other employee working the floor, Alena, was apparently training him & stopped by several times while he was taking care of us to simply check on us & answer some questions that Spencer could not yet answer himself. Together they made a great team & took excellent care of us. We started off with a water & an original milk tea. It was my first time having a milk tea like that, & to be honest, it wasn't my favorite. I, then, ordered a jack fruit smoothie, which I'd, also, never had before. When I asked what it was like, she informed me that it was very popular among Vietnamese culture, but she wasn't sure if I would like it because of course everyone's tastes are different, but if I didn't like it, she would have it removed. I loved it it!! I even shared it with my girlfriend so she could try it & she drank half of it!! Hahaha! For appetizer, we started off with egg rolls, which were pretty standard, to be honest. (Nothing out of the ordinary - egg rolls are egg rolls.) For our meals, she had the chicken pho with grilled chicken; I had the pork, shrimp & egg roll rice bowl, which they served with a side of fish sauce. Both dishes were scrumptious! Overall, I probably would've given this place a 3- or 4-star rating because although the meals were great, the venue itself is (like most local, Asian restaurants) small & basic on the inside, & not really too exciting... the service was FANTASTIC!! They - Spencer & Alena - were very personable & accommodating. They accommodated our requested for modifications to our meals & even sold us one of their soup spoons that they serve with the pho because my girl was excited to take one home. They were quick to retrieve us additional condiments when we asked & dropped the check off as we were finishing up for our convenience, so we didn't have to wait for it once we were done. However, they struck up conversation with us once we were finished with our meal & because of the conversation & connection we felt with the servers, we actually stayed a little longer than we intended & enjoyed their company. Once the other tables were gone & it was just us two, they even sat down for a couple minutes to carry-on the conversation & made us feel like we were friends/family. Although we are eager to try ALL of the Vietnamese restaurants in our area (again, my girlfriend is a Pho-fanatic), this will definitely be our go-to spot when we want to be sure of great food & service! Went here for takeout and didn't realize this place was in the complex near Riverview high school! First time here and I got the shrimp and egg roll rice noodle bowl, overall it was not bad. Service was fast from the time I called to when I came in to pick it up. Some things I do wish that there was some more shrimp since I only received 3 pieces, also the sauce that usually comes with vermicelli noodle bowls was not included. If I come back I'd like to try the pho noodle bowls since I'm sure that is what their specialty is. Pho Loc Tho is a hidden treasure in riverview. I'm so happy I found this place. I mainly order take out from here but the inside is clean and quaint. The staff is friendly and they always confirm I have everything I ordered on the phone. I request chili oil on the side and while it's a small amount, it definitely turns the heat up. Everything is neatly packed so it avoids any spillage and you don't have to carry multiple bags. I normally order the House Special Pho. It includes tendons, meatballs, tripes, brisket, and ribeye. There's obvious rice noodles, bean sprouts, onions, cilantro, and scallions. The broth is delicious and it comes hot but it's bearable to eat. Everything is fresh and of great quality. The food here is good. There are quite a few vegetarian/vegan options which is my reason for trying out this place. The rice I received with my meal was pretty bland. I also felt for the price I paid for my meal it was quite small. I honestly feel that I would have benefited from trying a different dish than the one I selected. With my meal there was an imitation pork which is made from tofu. I was very taken back by the taste and the flavors. It was absolutely delicious. It was made so well that it could almost be mistaken for real pork. I also got the tofu fresh rolls and they were very tasty. Overall this place wasn't the best but it was good. I would like to come back in the near future and try another dish. I really enjoy that they cater to those who are vegetarian and vegan. Pho Loc Tho is a very small spot that delivers big flavor! This little place is located in a busy strip mall area off of boyette and balm riverview near Riverview HS. Parking can get a little congested at times due to the numerous other businesses in this plaza. It is also a very small space, so don't expect to bring a huge group here. There's some tables throughout and a small bar area to sit at as well. I got a rice dish with marinated pork chop and the flavors were on point! The pork chop was well seasoned with just the right amount of chew! They served it with the right amount of vegetables and rice. I don't think I left a single grain of rice on that plate! My wife got an egg noodle soup dish and she said it was very tasty as well! We both agreed however, that the price was just a bit higher than other places charge in the Tampa Bay area. So that's the only set back we really had and the main reason we don't go more often. All things said and done, this place is probably the best Vietnamese cuisine you'll find in the South Shore area. Since I've visited Vietnam, I'm always on the hunt to find a restaurant that is close. This restaurant hits the spot. First, the kitchen setup is very similar to cooking in Vietnam where they like to have the kitchen open and visible (usually in the front). Pho - 4 stars, I've tried both ribeye beef and chicken. Broth: very subtle but flavorful. It is clear as it should be with the traditional added onions , scallions and herbs on the side. Beef: this is what makes there pho different from others I've tasted. Super tender ribeye and not the regular thin sliced beef that all others use Chicken: it was somewhat tough to me and I would not order again. Quantity: I order the regular size and it's enough I see that many have reviewed and state that the pho is not better than Saigon Deli..they are wrong! I think many go with the crowd and palette are not refined. Fried shrimp roll : 5 stars, six delicious jumbo shrimp wrapped in wontons and fried. They are served with a sweet chili sauce but I sub for fish sauce. Taste so good! Fresh Shrimp roll: 2 1/2 stars, these were just okay to me. Bahn Mi sandwich: 3 stars, tried both pork and chicken. I think they can put more vietnamese mayo on the sandwich because it can be dry but the flavor is good. Grilled pork- most flavorful of the two Service: 5 stars, I'm only giving these to the young lady that has cat eye mascara. She works her butt off! 2 stars to the other young ladies that seem to hide in the corner on their phones, the only reason for any stars is because I receive my food at the table. They are also the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area that has a vegan option for their pho. The chef is vegan and has created a vegan base that features imitation ham flavors so you still get an authentic Vietnamese taste. Giving this place a five star rating after several visits and here's why. Just note that we have been trying other vietnamese restaurants near and far from our place where some are good, some are so so and some are... nevermind. This place is relatively new in the area. From our first visit to succeeding ones, here are my observations and my summarized review. Food is good. They have their own taste and blend of the broth for pho but somehow i can taste the natural broth of it from meats and bones boiled for hours. I have tried others wheres its all seasoning and bullion. On the pho side, i'm personally not a big fan of rice noodles so i always get it with egg noodles. Their egg noodles are superb as i like the size of it (thin ones). The egg roll is also very good and tasty. A must try!! Place is clean. Given that they are relatively new, yes... this warrants the place to be clean and maintained. Oh! The you can see the kitchen and no hiding like in other asian restaurants. Experience of the service is good. One thing that not only myself but all of the people i brought here have noticed is the service. I believe this is a family owned and run business. The presence of the owner and the extra touch on the service where we felt being accomodated in one's home is felt. I cant speak for other customers but just sharing our experience. Not knowing the guy who is like running the show at the dinning hall, so i ask his name and his position in the restaurant from one of the servers. Mr. Tho. Tonight is one of those nights that we would usually order pho, an appetizer and a milk tea boba. However for tonight, i decided to give their "honeydew" milk tea a try instead of taro. STAY AWAY FROM IT! Unless you're an ant that like sugar. The whole thing was artificially and horrendously maxed out sweet. Yes! Very sweet. So l, barely consumed since we just had a few sip..we politely asked if we can have it ammended or at least add some milk or tea to dilute the sweetness or changed to our usual taro milk tea. The server told us, that she can try to add half-&-half but not sure what it will taste like after. She asked for the other servers on how to make it not sweet, and all of them dont know how since it is premixed. Inside of me, i know its premixed powder!! Then they just gave as the look that they cant do anything and sorry for me and my wife. I hated myself since i should have just asked that i'm not paying for it. Anyway, we usually dont have this kind of bad experience or at least it is immediately remediated as everyone can see on our prior posts. Anyway.... just one of those nights. I was looking forward to going to a Vietnamese place that I can actually follow the menu. Who would not want to try a beer called Sweet Baby Jesus? Upon entering I was impressed by the interior, clean, warm and welcoming. The service was great, very friendly and sincere. I asked for some recommendations and the server gladly obliged. I've been to tons of Vietnamese restaurants looking for the best vegetarian/vegan pho which can be challenging since the broth's flavor can be tricky to get right. Pho Loc Tho has hands down THE BEST pho in the whole Tampa Bay Area! Seriously I can't hype it up enough. The staff is always so kind and remembers my boyfriend and I, our orders, and they provide fast and friendly service. It feels like our second home there. You can tell they truly care so much about their customers and their quality of food. I've ordered the tofu fresh rolls as an appetizer and the quality of the vegetables inside is always so fresh. I typically order the vegetable tofu pho and it's seriously the most flavorful broth!! The tofu is crispy too and not just soggy or raw which I love. I've also tried the vegetarian noodle bowl which has soy protein, rice vermicelli, veggies, and a vegan sauce. Super refreshing, savory, crunchy, and filling. My boyfriend has always loved his beef or chicken pho bowls as well as shrimp fresh rolls and it's his favorite Vietnamese restaurant as well. These guys are doing it RIGHT at this place. We are repeat customers and sometimes come twice in a week making a 30+ min drive because it's so worth it. Seriously the best around and you have to try it. Warning, I am Viet so weigh my opinion accordingly. Was not a big fan. Service was slow which is strange because pho is a fast food! Soups were delivered about 5-10 minutes apart. The lone male in our group received his seafood pho first but could not eat since there were women and children who had not received their food at the table. It took almost 35 minutes till the last bowl of soup arrived for the children. We kept waving down the waitress who apologized but did not do anything to fix the situation. The sliced beef was requested on the side (since it overcooks quickly). The meat was poorly sliced and had been previously cut for awhile based on the dry edges. Normally cut in small bite sized sections. These were about the size of my hand and cut incorrectly so was tough. Soup was almost sour and watered down and largely not consumed by anyone at the table. Noodles were hard since they were not blanched first before adding. Took a few minutes for them to be edible. Bun Bo Hue was greasy looking (greasier then normal!), meat sliced into pho were thin and tough. Squid in seafood mi was cooked too long. Chicken wings were good. That was the lone saving grace of the meal. Coconut water ordered were prepackaged bottles that were not drinkable. Of the 4 ordered, 3 were left on table ($2.50 each). Customers were a mix and most seemed to be ordering a steak. Which did look pretty ok. So, I guess, come here for the steak but go elsewhere if you want pho. read more
