We used to enjoy coming here to support local business and found their banh mi sandwiches and pho soup to be authentic. Sadly, the food quality has since gone downhill with them cutting back on ingredients and the amount of food they give and yet, their prices continue to rise. We understand it's difficult to be a small business in today's economy but cutting cost and raising prices will only turn loyal customers away. We also find it disappointing that they charge a 3.5% processing fee on their clover POS without letting the customer know in advance or offer the option to pay in cash to avoid the extra fee. Came for a weekend lunch! We both love Vietnamese food and were excited to try this spot. I ordered the beef vermicelli, and my dining companion got the bún bò Huế. The food was okay overall, though we were both a bit disappointed. Both dishes leaned noticeably on the sweeter side. My beef vermicelli was fairly enjoyable--the grilled beef had a nice, slightly caramelized texture that paired well with the chilled noodles. However, the sauce also had a distinct sweetness that felt a bit heavy for the dish. As for the bún bò Huế, we ordered it knowing it's often a signature item at Vietnamese restaurants and pho spots, and usually worth the slightly higher price. Unfortunately, this one didn't quite measure up. The broth tasted more sweet than spicy, and the soup wasn't served hot enough. It would also be helpful if the menu mentioned that the dish includes congealed blood. The blood itself tasted okay but didn't seem especially fresh. The young woman who waited on us was very friendly, and we appreciated her attentiveness. However, toward the end of the meal, the check-in felt a bit rushed. There were a couple of takeout orders, but we were the only dine-in table for most of the meal. While we understand the need for efficiency, it felt a bit uncomfortable to receive the check before we had finished eating. I used to love coming to Pho Hoang but man, it has really gone downhill. It used to take us 45 minutes total from start to finish but the start takes 45 minutes now! The noodles in the pho is so broken that it's hard to eat it. The spring rolls are still delicious as ever. The staff are slow to help and serve -- and these are on SLOW days, I couldn't imagine when it's busy. We haven't been back and don't plan to. There are no vegetarian pho options. You can get banh mi IF YOU SPECIFY NO BEEF PASTE, or you can get noodle/rice stir fry and these will be vegetarian. But despite having "no meat," vegetable, and tofu versions of pho, none of these are vegetarian. FYI. We all got garlic noodle bowls. These were very delicious. The soy sauce has great flavor and the cabbage gave a bright sweet compliment. The noodles were cooked really well. The quality of the food has dropped, the portion sizes have dropped and the service quality has diminished as well. The broth especially which is key is unrecognizable at this point. Bun Bo Hue here is the best! We have tried many Bun Bo Hue places, but this is the most delicious place! The broth tasted spicy and beefy. I was in the Brandon area today and just wanted two things, a good Boba place and a good Vietnamese noodle soup place for to go. I remembered we came here one year ago and everything was delicious. Today , ordered to go for the family and was disappointed. Although the broth is still delicious (I always taste the broths separately before combining with noodles) I think more attention can be given to the noodles. both Bun Bo Hue's had a strong chlorine taste. I am not sure if the noodles were not rinsed thoroughly or they were rinsed in water which has no softener. I took a sip of the broth and said it was one of the most flavorful I have tried, yet when combined with the noodles it had a strong chlorine taste- was inedible and could not be finished. As for my sons chicken pho , The noodles again could use some attention. It was served in a large hard clump, he could not eat his pho or separate the noodles. my logic is either it was over cooked or they pre-cook all the noodles and just pour the soup broth over as customers order. At any rate ,we make Pho at home frequently and know that pho noodles are very fragile . The only way to make it correctly is to cook the noodles to order. It only takes a few minutes to make fresh noodles. Luckily we still had a package at home so was able to strain the broth out and cook our own noodles. For $100 worth of food, was really hoping for a hassle free meal. On a sidenote, it's understandable that pricing has gone up and we don't mind paying but meat quantity is more scarce almost cut up into little pieces compared to our experience here a year ago.
