So it was a cold and rainy and I was out for a long walk and came across this place and decided I would give it a try. Upon entry, I walked in and was met with a warm and inviting welcome by Darwin. I told him I had not tried Vietnamese food before and that I would like his recommendations. He did just that with kind eyes and smile behind his mask and even though the place was getting busy. Upon ordering from his direction I Started with the #10-Cha Gio- spicy spring roll. It was 4 beautifully prepared rolls with crunch and taste on a bed of lettuce, mint and shredded carrots . I asked for some extra hot sauce and he delivered. Afterwards I asked for something even hotter and, boy did he deliver! It was fire with flavor as I had hoped. The Suon Nuong (#15) - grilled marinated BB back ribs. It was not exactly a fall of the bone type rib, but you can tell it was prepared just right. When I bit into the ribs They had a delightful grilled and flavorful bite that you did not have to fight to get it off the rib. Each bite was left on the bone waiting for the next bite and each one came off just right. Try it! I finished with the #21- Bun Thit Nuong. Now this dish delivered for me, because I was hungry. A large bowl of rice vermicelli with grilled BBQ pork with carrots, scallion, cucumber and mint! It was absolutely flavor in a bowl and popular indeed- I recommend you coming here to meet with Darwin and experience a taste of Vietnam right here in Flushing. I know you won't be disappointed. Tell them Steve sent you- they don't know me lol, but will still treat you like family. In my observations the employees were all welcoming, efficient, attentive and humble to everyone and this place was getting packed. When it calmed down they kept busy cleaning. This place was great. I bookmarked it a while back due to great reviews and happened to be in the area. Haven't really been doing indoor dining so walked in to get some food. Saw how clean and distanced it was so I called my family to come in to eat instead because spring rolls and pho just taste better immediately rather than bringing home. Food was fantastic. Very fresh. My kids aren't really that into Vietnamese food and both of them loved it. My six year old who can be really picky raved about the food the entire meal and asked to come back. I enjoy the Chicken Pho, its clean flavor and rich broth hits the spot during the cold winter. The Beef Pho is a classic however, the Bun Bo Hue is lacking. To be fair, not many restaurants in NYC can make a good Bun Bo Hue. The parking lot is convenient for dining in or take out. read more

I ordered pho with rare beef via UberEats. Even though delivery took an hour, the soup was still pretty hot and I didn't have to reheat it all that much. I'd say pho is decent; I've had better pho but this would satiate a pho craving any day. One of my criteria for the taste of pho is if the soup is so good that I don't feel like adding Sriracha for a long time (does anybody do this too?) The earlier I want to add Sriracha the less satisfied I am with the original soup. In this case, I went for Sriracha pretty early on. I also had the iced Vietnamese coffee, which was so dark that I added some milk. With more milk you can enjoy the coffee for longer so maybe it's a good deal if you want a lot of coffee. read more

My go to for Vietnamese cuisine in Queens. Worth the drive as there's a parking lot. The food is fresh, tasty appetizers especially the chicken wings and ribs. All the noodle dishes are hearty. Friendly staff, they'll tell you about any specials they have for the day. I ordered the matcha iced tea (different from the usual Thai ice team I would normally order). Been over 10x and the food is always consistent and delicious. Place is little hidden gem sandwiched in the back of a strip mall with some parking. Doesn't look like much from the outside but it's clearly been renovated and super clean on the inside. Service is always great and everything is always yum. Price is very reasonably priced. I am a bit conflicted with the overall experience here. Firstly, the service was great. Different waiters came by to tend to us and were prompt and courteous. At the end of the meal, one of the waiters (maybe owner?) said something along the lines of, "thank you for your patronage, we hope you enjoyed the food and service, yelp review us!". Second, the menu itself isn't very expansive which is good. They have Viet and English languages. We ordered three number ones (one with meat well done) and one #5. I was under the impression that it would come with the traditional skinny flat viet noodles I was used to seeing, but noodle soup #5 does not. On a spicy level, it is a 3 which doesn't sting at all. The spicy level is only at face level. Also, in my bowl, I had ALOT of fatty parts which I had to carefully take out (a lot more than usual). My brother liked the noodle soup and said the meat was good. However, he was still hungry because the portion size wasn't the same as those at Pho Best. I dont think the spring rolls were exceptional as I did not hear anything about them from my party. Overall, I appreciate that there is parking here and great service. However, I would go to Flushing for a well portioned noodle soup. I would go to try it once. read more

This has just become one of my new favorite spots for Vietnamese food. It is located in a small lot with plenty of parking and there are so many seats inside! It definitely feels modernized and clean inside. The staff is very kind and the food comes out really quick as well. I ordered the crispy spring rolls which were perfectly crisp. I ordered the original pho along with the bun bo hue. Both noodles had a deep broth that was very flavorful. The pho had plenty of meat and the bun bo hue was a little spicy but not overwhelming at all. Both were definitely super satisfying and hearty. Definitely one of the better Pho tasting locations in flushing queens, They have a Thai ice tea to die for although the proportion isn't fully there, the service is awesome as they understand and adhere to any requests, overall a really cool and clean place as well, If they can add a little more to the proportion it would definitely bump it to a 5 read more

Metro Pho is pretty phoking amazing! I've had their vermicelli bowls, fresh rolls, and banana cake... and all were super tasty. I also had some pretty major food envy looking around at the bowls of other diners' food. I do love some Pho now, but I was jonesing for a more substantial noodle dish on this particular day out! So, I ordered the vermicelli noodle dish with pork, shrimp, and crispy spring rolls (yassss --chopped up on top). I doused my dish with the included vinegar sauce and about 5 tablespoons of Hoisin sauce (there is some at every table). I stirred that stuff up and put some hot sauce on top... oh my!!!! Tony was with me that day and got the same dish but subbed chicken for pork. The chicken was grilled to perfection and tasted succulent as well. Note that their food is affordable ($28 spent on two lunches and dessert). Plus, they believe in large portions, which is always a plus for me. This Pho spot used to be one of our favorites. But they have lost our family as a loyal customer. Why? NOT because their food sucks. Their food tastes consistently delicious and fresh. But because it's become one of the restaurants that has drastically reduced their portion sizes. Most evidently on the premium ingredients: rare flank steak - main Pho bowl comes with 3 tiny 2 inch diameter slices at most.. and the spicy lemongrass bowl.. my gosh, talk about baby sizes... 3, maybe 4 (at most) tiny pieces of pork shank, smaller than the rare flank steak slices - probably 1-1.5 inch diameter at most. noodles and brisket portions remain decent.. Why? because it's cheaper, fattier and lower quality than the flank. At now $15 each for a bowl of soup and not to mention those tiny spring rolls at $8. They come in 4 pieces each the size of my index finger at most - thin too. 3 bowls of soup with 1 spring roll and just water/tea + tip came out to ~$70. Servers are nice so still tip them well. We get it - INFLATION is affecting everyone but if you're going to increase the prices AND reduce my meal to kids portions while I'm coming in starving for a great hearty PHO meal, time to say BYE BYE. I take this very personally. We aren't stupid and can clearly see everything's been reduced (my vision still 100% btw). Didn't come here to lose weight. I don't get why these restaurants think they can still retain customers by using this money saving tactic. It's dumb cause you'll lose business. This is an out of the way for me place but was worth the trip. I was invited by my son's Godfather to have lunch here and yes a little out of the way for me but was a nice lunch. What the place lacks in decor, it is quite sparse, they exceed in food quality, price and service. You feel so welcome here and they are constantly refilling your hot tea, or water. Also, they are respectful to a T. Unfortunately did not take a pic of the mango salad which is very good. The spare ribs were so delicious and tender, you want to order more! I came here with my family for an early dinner. I wasn't a fan of the parking lot but they have a lot which is great! The place was clean and service was good. We were greeted and sat down quickly. The pho here isn't the most authentic but it's very clean and modern compared to those authentic hole in a wall style pho. The prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious. I recommend starting with a fried spring roll, shrimp roll, or their wings. All of which are great and worth trying. As for the main everything is good so you can't go wrong there. As for the dessert they have a banana bread cake with ice cream on top and a flan. Don't forget to try their Vietnamese coffee. I had high expectations after seeing the 4.5* rating. I really wanted to like this place since it's close and parking is easy. Unfortunately, it fell short. Service was decent. No complaints there. The space is a good size, but wasn't being utilized well. It made for a very echo-y vacant feel. It's so hard to find good Vietnamese food in NY, and compared the other similar restaurants in Queens, this falls on the lower end. The papaya salad app had strips of beef jerky in it that gave the whole salad a strange slim Jim taste. The fried spring rolls were tiny at the price of $6.50 for 4. The pho was also disappointing because the portions were small, the vermicelli was mushy, and the all important broth was bland and lacking in flavor. They were also kind of skimpy with the herbs. When in Hanoi, do as the Viet do, get the Pho Dac Biet. And so I did, but it was a disappointment. Mind you, it tasted very good with the flavors blended very nicely and with slices of beef brisket, tripe and meatball. When I say meatball, I do mean singular. Cut into 2 halves. I just can't get over the fact that it was just so...small. Maybe my expectations were too high, but whenever I order a big bowl of pho anywhere else, I expect a bowl brimming with broth that the waiter has trouble carrying for fear of spilling. A bowl big enough for me to stick my head into to slurp up the last of the rice noodles and beefy bits. When my bowl came, it wasn't hot enough to cook my bean sprouts and the level of broth was an inch below the rim. No danger of spilling over whatsoever. My wife ordered the Bun Dac Biet, grilled pork and shrimp vermicelli bowl, which she liked and I also tasted. The crispy spring roll that came with it was pretty good. We also had an order of the shrimp and pork summer roll was also good, but again, seemed small. Service was very cordial. Prices are on par with most Vietnamese restaurants in Flushing and I don't mind paying more if I got a decent amount of food. But I hate having an unfulfilling meal and then thinking about going to get a burger from the McDonald's value menu at the other end of the strip mall. read more

Our first indoor dining experience during COVID, so far so good! My wife and I originally came here for takeout. But they had indoor dining and seemed very clean so we tried it out. Pho is better fresh and hot anyway! They took our temperature and we were seated at least 7-8ft away from any other diners, plenty of space apart. Our server, Darwin, was very energetic and friendly, and seemed to be managing everything up front, from the takeout orders to the 4 tables going on, but no detail was missed and he was very helpful. It definitely put us at ease. Food was great as always. The appetizers and pho was flavorful and as good as we remember. The portion sizes seemed a bit more robust as well... one of the chief complaints we had in the past was that while the food tastes good, the portions were a bit small. I really enjoyed my dining experience here at Pho Metro. From the friendly service to the simple and clean interior, and most importantly the delicious food, everything was top notch. I ordered the fried spring rolls, pho, and ribs. Everything tasted super fresh and the pho was served piping hot (just how I like it). The spring rolls were fried nicely with a great crunch and served with fresh leaves of greens. The ribs were exceptionally tender and had a great marinade. Finally, the pho had a great depth of flavor and the cuts of meat were of high quality. I will definitely be returning the next chance I get. I wanted a salad and was browsing around on Uber Eats and came across Pho Metro. Everything sounded amazing so we decided to give it a shot. I got the Goi Du Du and also ordered the Goi Cuon. Goi Du Du: a green papaya salad with shrimp, beef and fresh herbs. I loved this dish. Honestly though I never saw the beef. I could be wrong but I don't think it was there. But it didn't need it in my opinion. The papaya was nice and crunchy. The dressing was outstanding! Goi Cuon: shrimp and pork rolls in soft rice paper. Quite tasty. I don't care for the peanut dressing that comes with the rice rolls but I had plenty of dressing from my salad to dip it in and it was delicious. We will definitely order from here again!! My family and I are always looking for new place to try out. Since COVID, It is hard to find a restaurant that have dine-in option. After reading all the good reviews, we have to come to Pho Metro to try it out for ourselves. My younger daughter (12 years old) has food allergy. She tends to be a little picky when it comes to food. Half way through our meal, she said, "I rate this place 5 out of 5!" We ordered Crispy Spring Roll and Darwin suggested us to try the Vietnamese Chicken Wings. OMG!! Haven't had such good spring roll in a loonnnggggg time. The chicken wings.... hmm hmm hmmm! Both starters tasted absolutely amazing!!! My daughters eyes almost popped out of her eye sockets. Haha For entrees we had the Beef and Pork Shank in a Spicy Rice Noodle Soup; Curry Chicken over Rice and Grilled Pork Chop over Rice. I wish the spicy noodle soup was a bit more spicy but the broth was really good. Beef and pork slices were nice and tender, and comes in a bowl of a good amount of noodle. Curry was a bit on the sweet side but it was good. My daughter couldn't finish and doggie bagged it. Hubby had the grilled pork chop. He finished the whole dish before I was half way done with my noodle soup. He said it was so good he wishes there was more. We all had the Thai Iced Tea for drinks. Although this is a Vietnamese Pho place, their Thai Iced Tea wasn't bad at all. We were so full, we had no room for dessert. Pho Metro was very clean and tables were more than 6 feet apart. One thing that stood out the most to us was their service. Darwin along with his staff were very polite and tentative. Big thumbs up for their superb service. We have dined here on a few occasions and have experienced friendly service and good pho. Their bowls of noodle soup are what you would normally expect but their broth is hearty and flavorful with a rich brothy taste as if the soup has been sitting slowly brewing over a hot stove, unlike some other places that may taste overly salty or watered down. These guys have two types of spring rolls. One that's crispy and another they call fresh spring rolls. They are both prepared so perfectly. I made the mistake of ordering the fresh spring rolls on our most recent visit while half attentively finishing up a teleconference for a project I was working on, but without hesitation on the nice server advised he will correct it for me even though it was my fault. He advised to try the fresh spring rolls and I politely accepted and was pleasantly surprised. It has a fusion of peanut butter and fresh vegetables giving it a nice crunch. I really fell in love with it more than the crispy spring rolls. Their banana bread pudding a la mode is divine. Order this if you have room, and maybe you should still order it if you don't. You can always share...or hold back on the meal and skip to dessert, whatever. The place is always clean, the tables are turned around quickly, and the food has been consistently good. There's parking in the front of restaurant. I love Vietnamese food and grew up eating it. I almost always order pho and here I ordered Pho Dac Biet - $8.50 with rare beef, brisket, tendon, and beef ball- there was literally one beef ball in there cut up into two pieces. The broth taste very mellow. The overall taste of the pho was descent but could be a bit more flavorful. They also serve it with a side of jalapeños, bean sprouts,Thai basil, and a tiny wedge of lime. The one thing I do like about the pho here is that I did not feel thirsty after eating here which means they did not use much msg. I will come back for the pho. Goi dudu $7 green papaya salad with shrimp, beef and fresh herbs. When I received this dish I notices the portions are small and there were barely any beef and shrimp. The shrimp were thinly sliced. It was extremely bland too. Also the green papaya was not crisp. This dish was a complete dud. Definitely skip this dish. Pho metro flavors is very different from most Vietnamese restaurants that I have been too and can be a hit or a miss depending on your tastebuds as I noticed the dishes here is more mellow. Might be hard to get parking in the small lot in front of the restaurant but there's plenty in the stop and shop parking lot! Decor is tastefully minimalist. The menu is also simple but I prefer it that way, it usually means they know what dishes they excel at. I got the Viet iced coffee, their special double fried chicken wings and the bun Bo hue. Iced coffee was a little surprising, it kinda had a hint of French vanilla/hazelnut? It was flavorful and strong just not expecting the extra flavor. The wings were nice and crunchy, lightly sweet and sour, not drenched in sauce and that's how I liked them. Loved they gave cucumbers and the pickled radish and carrots to compliment the dish. Lastly, the bun Bo hue. I was kinda disappointed? It was very flavorful and the meats were tender. I was just expecting more lemongrass flavor and a bit more kick in the spice factor. The portion is just perfect and exactly what I wanted on a nice rainy day. I left completely satisfied with a full belly. I think pho metro really shines in the hospitality factor, the employees are extremely attentive without being overbearing and made great suggestions when you want to try something new. I usually get pho from lemongrass & ginger but since my brother was getting it for me I told him to go to pho metro which I was already ehh about because lemongrass and ginger has never let me down. But I decided to risk it and try it... First things first I got a chicken pho and asked for extra shrimp. The guy end up telling me he needs to ask the chef first. Ok cool. Then he says he can do it but it's $3 dollars for 3 shrimp... ok.... that's literally a dollar per shrimp but guess what I wanted my shrimp so I said alright, screw it. Got the pho dropped off by my brother. The only plus I can say is how they had the broth and the ingredients packed separate which is pretty cool. BUT guess what!! There was 2, only 2 shrimps in my order!!! So he charged me already $3 dollars for 3 shrimps and only got 2. Not only that but the chicken was so skimped. So disappointed because I'm a high protein eater. So that was a complete let down and I regret not going to lemongrass and ginger. On the other hand the broth was good and that's all I can say.
