My partner & I come to eat here every single time we have a pho craving and it has ALWAYS hit the spot!!! We've both individually come here when we were younger b4 we even met! The service is good and pretty much what to expect when you go to viet restaurants. We got pho dac biets and iced coffees. Overall we thought it was pretty good and one of the better phos we had gotten here. Pho - 7/10 : overall it was pretty good, my dad remarked the brother was sweeter which is good but he was disappoted the broth didn't necessarily smell very strong or what he expected. To me, I expected more vegetables like green onions in my soup and I wanted more of the classic Vietnamese vegetables that come with your pho. It only came with been sprouts, jalapeño, and basil. The food here is always amazing! Whenever I crave Vietnamese food, this is the place I go to! I always know that the food will satisfy my cravings. Nowadays you can't just walk into any Vietnamese/pho restaurant without it being a hit or miss. Plus the service here is always so friendly and quick! There's lots of space in the restaurant and tables as well. When I went during lunch time it was a full house! I only had to wait 5-10 minutes though and they cleared the table for us so fast! Pretty sure I've seen the same people working there since middle school. + so affordable. A large Bun Bo Hue was $8 something for as long as I can remember and it's still affordable now at $12.50. This goes for their other dishes too. + the BBH is the most ordered thing here and it's what I usually get too. It's not your usual authentic spicy BBH from Hue but a very mild, enjoyable noodle soup with all the BBH fixens.. it has become just a thing to get here now. + clean, family interior. There's idyllic, old-timey vietnamese music in the background and all your golden buddhas and fake waterfall sculptures to boot. The meh: Nothing. I have tried pho at many restaurants in the area, but Pho My Chau in Kent is one of the places that I would come back for Pho.

I decided to give this place one last try after swearing to never visit again years ago when I found a bug in my pho vegetable toppings. Should have stuck with that. I was desperate for some noodle soup because Hoang Lan is closed for renovation currently and I had driven all this way already. The service was terrible. I watched the waitress and the man at the register happily greet and converse with all other guests but for some reason, it seemed like they did not want my business and I felt as if I didn't belong. I ordered bun rieu and banh loc. The bun rieu was not authentic, way too sweet and salty at the same time (loads of msg) and the meat/egg patty tasted freezer burnt. My noodles were also so overcooked, they broke apart when I tried to pick them up with chopsticks. The banh loc and the plate it was on came out piping out, I had to wait atleast 10 minutes before I could bite into it. The flavors at this restaurant seem to be lacking in authenticity and masked with MSG and instant broth powders instead. I ended up taking my food to go because I hated the energy in the restaurant but honestly, I don't think I will even bother with the leftovers. Extremely disappointed. read more

I heard through the grapevines that this place makes the tastiest bowls of bun bo hue in the area! Situated on the second floor of a shopping plaza, you have to do mini leg exercises and hit the stairs. It's a hole-in-the-wall establishment with straightforward menu. It was pretty packed when we came during lunch time, a good sign! For those who are unfamiliar, bun bo hue uses beef bones, lemongrass, fermented shrimp sauce, and spicy chilli oil as the broth base. They have 9 different options of bun bo hue sorted by the toppings you want to get. I got #45, bun bo hue with beef and soft tendon! The order came with fresh veggies, lime, and banana blossom. As soon as I slurped the broth, a burst of sweet umami flavor danced on my taste bud. It was seasoned perfectly, not too overpowering or underseasoned as other BBH I've previously had. My Vietnamese friend approved! I also got egg soda (soda sua hot ga). As indicated by the name, it's a beverage made from egg yolk, club soda, and sweetened condensed milk. It was a refreshing fizzy drink to cleanse your palate! They also have pho, broken rice (com tam), beef stew, congee, and among other Vietnamese staples. Service was friendly but wasn't attentive. This is my go to pho spot in Seattle. A staple in my rotation of comfort foods and places. Nothing about this place has changed since middle school! Which, personally I appreciate. Despite the heavy changes happening on MLK and Othello, pho my chau has not been one of them. I usually get their Pho with everything in it. They have all your necessities on the table. Your spoons, chopsticks, napkins, and condiments all at the end of your table. The view of a busy king plaza is paired with the warmth of the restaurant. Don't be afraid to order their bun bo hue or vermicelli bowls!! Tho their pho bowls always does the trick for me on any given day. Luckily they are open during this time, they sanitize in between folks and the food comes to you quick. What's there not to love about this spot. Pho My Chau is located second floor level of the Othello plaza. Staff are generally friendly and welcoming when you walk in. The times I've gone, they've never been packed so that was nice that I can trust this place not being busy. I usually go for their Pho Dat Biet or their Bun Bo Hue. The dishes are so fresh and flavorful. I'd say the only con about this place/area is that parking can get difficult being around the plaza. Especially during the busy hours (weekends, dinners, etc.). This place has always been the spot to get pho and other Vietnamese restaurant staples. Located on the second floor of the shopping plaza, I've known it to be consistently packed with laborers, families, and business workers of various demographics. Though it's full, I've only had to wait a couple minutes once in the many times I've been there to be seated. Their pho and bun bo hue is great here. I think it's the right saltiness in flavor and the portion sizes are enough to keep most people satiated. I ordered their bun bo hues to go and at first glance it did seem lacking because the toppings consisted of two cubes of pork blood, a tendon, ~five pieces of sliced beef, a lime slice, and a mix of onions and cilantro. However everything was more than filling especially with the rice noodles expanding from heating them in the broth. It's definitely a steal given that you can get two bun bo hues for under $20. Calling in, the order only took ten minutes to prepare and getting in and out was pretty reasonable. I would caution people that outside of the pandemic, especially from afternoon onwards that it is difficult to find parking in the plaza's parking lot. read more

I drive all the way to the south end just to come eat their BBH! The restaurant is located in a very crowded plaza. For some reason I'm always find myself back here despite the limited and tight parking lot. My favorite place for Bun Bo Hue hands down! The restaurant is a little small, and the tables can be a little closely spaced from each other, but it's not too bad. Once my bf and I went inside, we had to wait around a little bit before someone came out of the kitchen, and this person - I didn't catch his name - gave a big smile and nodded, before instructing us to sit in one of the 4-seater tables by the window. He served the front-end of the restaurant to all customers as a greeter, waiter, and later cashier. He only ever spoke to us to say "Thank you" once we had finished paying, but he was all smiles, which was more than enough. A couple more groups started coming in and he would make more casual conversation with each of them, along with suggestive selling, but I'm assuming these people could be regulars or friendlier-looking people? Lol. The food was really good though! The portions are a bit smaller in comparison to other pho restaurants, but the quality is really there. From the first sip of the soup, you could taste the distinct and delicious flavor of the broth, with all the ingredients in proper proportion with one another. Considering my church is right across the street from this restaurant and the place has a nice view, plus the quality of the food, I will probably most likely be coming back to try more. read more

12/29/15 Stopped by this unassuming Pho shop and was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and quality of the Pho. A nice typical Vietnamese restaurant. The price is not expensive. The menu was very basic, and didn't have a thousand items on it, which could be overwhelming. I'm no pho expert- I'm sure you have friends who can direct you to places that are hipper, or somehow more 'authentic' (whatever that means); all I know is that, I have a piping-hot, perfectly cooked bowl of Pho in front of me in about 5 minutes. The basil, and sprouts are always fresh and green, meat is of high quality, and broth is flavorful. I enjoy a good level of spice and sweat-inducing elements in my food, yet found no need to add any additional jalapenos or Sriracha; the broth was a perfect balance of heat and flavor. Needless to say, I emptied the bowl and plan on returning to empty more in the future. I haven't tried any other dishes beside the Pho (I usually get #6), and it's always so good. I find myself craving it and ignore the rest of the menu. Give it a try next time you're in the area. first time here today. Tried the bun bo hue and goi cuon. Only reason we went here was because Hoang lan downstairs had changed their owner and heard the bun bo hue was not as good. So my reaction? The place was extremely quiet and empty for the lunchtime rush, but I still didn't let this get to me. The goi cuon was fresh and decent. I really wanted to order their nem cuon but when I asked if it had the crunchy wonton in it they said "no". I'm so spoiled with the southern California Brodard Nem Rolls I can't eat anything else!!. For the Bun Bo Hue I got #41 small. The broth came out a little brown and murky. I'm used to it being clear and red and bursting with flavor. I tried the broth before adding anything else in it. The flavor was decent but by far way different from it's competitor Hoang Lan. This one was lacking the immense burst of flavor that punches you when you take a sip, it also lacks the intense spice that bun bo hue is known for. I ended up adding tons of chili pepper to spice up my dish. After doctoring it up a bit the dish as a whole was decent. It was average when compared to my benchmark, but probably way better than I could produce at home. So, for that I will give it an "ok" and willingly return to have more. It does not compare to my favorite but it's a good alternative I guess. Oh yeah, and the stairwell to get up to this place is a little sketch. read more
