Pleasant experience overall. Came here for lunch and got greeted and seated right away. The interior is very nicely decorated and modern. Felt very clean as well. We ordered a pho dac biet and banh mi bo kho. The pho was great. I'm full Vietnamese and it tasted pretty authentic to me. The noodles are handmade and it's a nice touch that there's free noodle refills when you're dining in. The broth tasted great too - no need to add extra sauces unless you want to. The bo kho was solid. The meat had great flavor and I really enjoyed the broth. Loved how it also came with salt and pepper on the side to add more depths of flavor. Only complaints is that I wish both the meat and carrots were cooked a bit longer. The beef was a bit chewy and the carrots were a lot harder than I would have liked. But overall, solid spot.

While my boyfriend ordered pho, I decided to try the bún riêu and had the bún bò Huế on a previous visit. I gave this place 2 tries before I said anything because I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, neither really stood out to me, they felt like they were missing a bit of depth. That said, one thing I did notice was the noodles. They're clearly different from the ones you see typically. I'm not sure I'd say they're better, but I can definitely appreciate the effort. My boyfriend, on the other hand, really enjoys the noodles here. For me, though, the broth is the most important part of any noodle soup, and that's where this place didn't quite hit the mark.

I came here in the afternoon for lunch. The inside was clean and not very busy. We got seated quickly, service is great and efficient. I got the P4 Pho Tai, medium size, which is a whopping $18.99. The pho tasted good, like average, nothing out of the extraordinary. The portion size was more like a small size and their rice noodles were not like the average thin rice noodles, but I could tell they were home-made. That said, the pho was good but the price is not justifiable. I'd much rather go to my usual pho spot for bigger portion sizes and better pricing.

A friend recommended this restaurant a while ago & I recently had the chance to check it out with my family for my birthday. We had a party of 8 and we made a reservation just in case but honestly we didn't need it, there were plenty of tables available. Fun fact, they make their own rice noodles in house & they have a window so you can watch the kitchen make them. The decor was pretty cute. We ordered some veggie egg rolls for the table, one order comes with 2 small egg rolls for $10.95...we were surprised the server didn't tell us that the order would not be enough for our party, so we ended up getting one more order, we all definitely felt that for the price, there was nothing special about these egg rolls. We also ordered one of their most popular appetizers, Bahn Khot Tom, small Tumeric crepes topped with shrimp that you can wrap with lettuce & herbs...this was the best dish we ordered. Their pho was a bit underwhelming & the oxtails were tough and needed to be cooked longer so they could become tender. My spicy beef soup was not very spicy. For the price we paid for each dish, we were just not very satisfied. Nothing tasted very good. They have a huge giant family Super Bowl of pho ranging in price from $43.99 for 2 people up to $131.99 but honestly..,why wouldn't you just order your own bowl. It seems you would need separate bowls so each person could take out a portion for each person sharing the Super Bowl?! I wanted to like this place but it was just not that great when we have so many delicious pho restaurants all throughout Seattle and its surrounding areas.

DONG THAP NOODLES @ TUKWILA Parking is available right out front. Although it's limited, we were able to find a spot directly in front without any issues. My family and I arrived around 10:58 AM, and since they open at 11:00 AM, we ended up walking in at the perfect time. A few other customers came in right after us, which made me excited to finally try this place. This restaurant is located next to Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, Washington, making it a convenient stop if you're already shopping or walking around the mall. The place is known for its handmade rice noodles, which are made in-house and cooked fresh to order. The ambiance is very nice and modern. It doesn't feel like a traditional Vietnamese restaurant; instead, it gives off more of a newer chain vibe. Everything was clean and well-designed. There's a large TV in the back corner, and you can also watch the staff making the noodles, which was a cool touch. We were seated immediately and placed our order right away. I did notice that the prices are on the higher side compared to traditional Vietnamese restaurants. Most noodle bowls were over $22, and appetizers were also expensive. We ordered two egg rolls for $10 total ($5 each), along with their seafood noodle soup, which is advertised as having a variety of seafood. The food came out within a few minutes, but unfortunately, the seafood bowl was disappointing. It only included shrimp and pork, whereas most Vietnamese seafood noodle soups typically have clams, squid, calamari, shrimp, and a mix of seafood. The flavor was also quite bland. They provide chili oil, but even with that, it didn't taste very authentic. As for the noodles, you can choose between a regular or large size. While the noodles themselves were very fresh and well-made, the overall flavor still fell flat. The meat slices were also very thick and chunky rather than thinly sliced, which affected the texture. Overall, this wasn't one of the best Vietnamese spots I've tried. As someone who's Vietnamese and looks for authentic flavors, this place didn't quite hit the mark especially considering the high prices. That said, I did appreciate the modern ambiance and the fresh, handmade noodles. I might come back to try a different dish, but if you're specifically looking for authentic Vietnamese food with bold flavors, this may not be the spot.

I was a bit nervous because I see continuously that this place's quality has gone downhill and service is unfriendly or non-existent. I was pleasantly surprised that that was not the case for my party of 4 on Monday afternoon. I think there was one other table that was seated and had their order sent in. As we entered, a kind server welcomed us and led us to a booth. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous with a minimalistic vision in mind. The restaurant is bright enough to take good pictures. Our server was attentive and ensured our waters were refilled often and checked in on every so often to see if we needed anything. My boyfriend and I got the Combination pho Super Bowl for two people as well as an order of their egg rolls, springs rolls, mini rice cake with shrimps, and strawberry lemonade. Our friend got a medium steak pho. The food didn't take too long to arrive and everything was really good. We were really impressed with the food. The broth was soothing, I love that it was flavorful without being overly salty or the balance of aromatics wasn't tipping to one specific spice. I think people are just used to broths that are much more saltier and that's why they call it flavorless. They are generous with meats on the pho as well, both for the super bowl and medium bowls. All those tried the mini rice cakes with shrimps were delicious, it was all of our first time trying it and we loved it. The egg rolls were really good too, and the spring rolls were huge and the peanut sauce had a different taste to other Vietnamese places that I've been to but in a good way. The strawberry lemonade was so refreshing and definitely fresh squeezed, I wish it wasn't piled with so much ice though. My boyfriend and I plan on coming back to try out their other offerings as we were very impressed with the quality.

Interesting place with some wild sizes for their pho super bowl. I'd heard they were known for their food challenge and house-made noodles, and I did spot what looked like a noodle-making machine in the kitchen through the window. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. While everyone else in the group ordered pho, I went with the bun bo hue. Not the best I've had and it felt like it was missing something and tasted a bit underwhelming and plain. I probably just ordered the wrong thing. However, the noodles were noticeably different from the usual factory-made ones. I'm not sure they're necessarily better, but I always appreciate the uniqueness and freshness of anything made in-house. Will come back to try their pho if I have the chance.

Stopped by for lunch today with Family. Service was wonderful and food was lovely. And the tea was a nice touch. Today, I had the Com Xao with Chicken. Very filling. Ambiance was a little quiet, but there wasn't too many people, which was surprising for a Sunday. Will be back for Pho'!

Really large restaurant, plenty of seating and probably could hold large parties. Service was quick and food came out piping hot! I really enjoyed eating here.

First time here, but I've been in this area so many times. When you walk in, the restaurant just feels clean and very modern. We ordered the size large bowls of pho. I shared mine with my kiddos. It was a decent size, but I ordered tendon and steak and there wasn't much tendon. However, the broth was delicious. The noodles were chewy and different than other pho restaurants for sure. Service was good. I really appreciated our server handing me the handheld device to pay and tip without them hovering over me like other places tend to do. The total with tip between two bowls of pho was close to $50.

Second time dining in at Dong Thap Noodles, and overall everything was very good. The duck noodle soup had a perfectly balanced, flavorful broth, but the duck meat itself was a bit chewier and less tasty than expected compared to previous experiences. The mini shrimp cakes were a standout, very yummy, crunchy, and delicious, with lots of vegetables that added great texture and freshness. The grilled chicken dish was excellent: very flavorful, especially paired with the ginger fish sauce. I also appreciated the small bowls of broth served on the side, a thoughtful touch that shows how much they care about the details and quality of their food. While the dishes are pricier than what many people might expect, the quality and care put into the food make it worth the cost. The grilled banana with coconut dessert was the only letdown and didn't feel worth ordering compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, a satisfying meal and definitely a place I'd return to.

Hu Tieu Dac Biet - wide, fresh noodles are made in-house with a firm, bouncy texture. the soy sauce-based sauce is perfectly balanced - not too salty - and complements the noodles and fresh veggies perfectly. the pork is on the leaner side and a bit dry though. overall, a pretty balanced dish and would recommend! Staff super friendly and our food came out real quick! Shop is really clean with modern interior and lots of seatings. Easy and free parking too!

Moved here from CA and have been trying a few Viet places. Finally found a place that has solid phở. I like the fresh phở noodles. My friends all got phở. We all enjoyed it. My only wish is for more meat toppings. Got chicken wings to-go for niece and nephew and they reported they they were good. Clean facilities, bright and cherry ambience. Good service.

How does Xiaolongbao create soup out of "thin air"? The…read moresecret to the origin of Xiaolongbao lies in a core technique: "pork skin jelly" (aspic). Long before modern gelling agents existed, ancient chefs discovered that simmering pork skin releases rich collagen, which solidifies into a gelatinous jelly once cooled. This jelly is then minced and folded into the meat filling. When wrapped in the delicate dough and blasted with high steam, the solid jelly melts back into a rich, savory broth. This clever culinary science gave rise to the famous 12-character dining mantra passed down through generations: "Lift it gently, move it slowly, poke a window, and sip the soup." "Din Tai Fung is a renowned catering enterprise originating from Taiwan. I actually had the privilege of speaking with the founder once. Din Tai Fung is most famous for its near-strict production standardization. For instance, each xiaolongbao is mandated to have exactly 5 grams of dough and 16 grams of filling, and must be precisely pleated with 18 folds. This meticulous craftsmanship is the core secret behind how it successfully promoted this Jiangzhe-originated delicacy to the global stage." Ambience: I've always held a theory called the "Storefront Strategy"--to catch people's eyes inside a shopping mall, you need a massive, dynamic facade. Having chefs crafting dim sum live behind the window serves as an excellent live promotion; it imprints the brand onto people's minds. The overall environment here is fantastic. Service: Top-notch and elegant. Flavor: To be completely honest, the flavor profile here differs vastly from what you find in Asia. I've conversed with many chefs, and there is no "secret recipe." Every single one of them told me: "Just use a heavy hand with the seasoning, and it will taste good." Broccoli: Cut into perfectly uniform sizes, making the presentation look exceptionally clean. It's stir-fried with large garlic slices to release the aroma, resulting in a relatively light flavor profile. Xiaolongbao (Soup Dumplings): Packed with rich broth, and the dough wrappers have a pleasantly chewy texture, though the flavor itself is remarkably bland. Shumai & Steamed Cod Dumplings: Both suffer from the exact same issue of being under-seasoned, though the portion sizes are quite generous. Fried Rice & Zha Jiang Mian (Fried Sauce Noodles): This is where it flips. I recall these staple dishes having rather large portions in Asia, but the mains here are served in tiny portions--hardly enough for one person. Zha Jiang Mian: Having lived in Beijing for 20 years, I believe the issue lies in the preparation technique. Any paste or sauce-based product demands repetitive, rigorous processing. Take yellow soybean paste (Huang Jiang), for example: it must be steamed first and then fried repeatedly to fully unlock its flavor profile and allow the aromatic molecules to continuously volatilize. Sauce bases--much like the soup bases for Sichuan hot pot--require time and the chef's continuous stir-frying to reach their full potential. Unfortunately, the Zha Jiang Mian here is also very bland.

The toasted baguette and pickled carrot and daikon were all fresh and crispy. However, I wished they put more vegetables inside. I also was disappointed by the chicken as it was shredded and not grilled. It tasted like canned chicken and was overall kind of bland. Had I known the chicken wasn't grilled, I would've gone with the grilled pork instead. Additionally, there was too much pate (which reminded me of melted salted butter, but gooier - almost like the texture of brie cheese) slathered on the sandwich and so I ended up scraping most of it off. Compared to Yeh Yeh's in Lynnwood, this banh mi unfortunately missed the mark for me (although it is convenient). With that said, I'd give them another try and try the grilled pork next instead with light pate. My mother tried the fresh rolls, and thought they were kind of small for the price.
