Went to Pho N More because it was close by and raining. When we got there, it looked a little bare inside, but I figured that was fine since it's a soft opening. We were handed menus after about 5 minutes, but it took around 15 minutes for our order to be taken. They also took orders from people who arrived after us, which was a bit confusing. We had to ask for water and chopsticks, which was odd because we were the only ones who didn't get any. When we finally did, ours were disposable while everyone else had regular chopsticks. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable. Our food came out last and took about 20 minutes, which felt long for pho. My boyfriend ordered the number two and liked the bone, but thought the broth was bland. I got the number one, and the soup itself looked cloudy, it didn't really have any flavor. The noodles just tasted like they'd been sitting in plain noodle water and didn't soak up the broth at all. We ended up adding a lot of sauces to make it more palatable. As a Vietnamese person, we were pretty disappointed, especially after spending about $40 for pho that wasnt good. I'm hoping it was just an off day because of the rain, but overall it wasn't a great experience. I'd like to come back one day to give them another chance once they're more settled. read more

This Vietnamese restaurant stays true to its name and serves Pho N More. The interior is minimalistic but well decorated, clean and spacious. We came for lunch and it was pleasantly quiet and relaxed. They have a unique menu that includes an extensive list of drinks and dishes not commonly found in Vietnamese restaurants like Potato Corner Style Fries, Takoyaki, and Kalbi. On this visit we ordered Pho, Fried Quarter Chicken Leg w/ Rice, Vietnamese Fish Sauce Glazed Chicken Wings, and Vietnamese Coffee with Salted Cream. We were happy with what we ordered. We thought the pho broth was good and slightly sweet. The Vietnamese Fish Sauce Glazed Chicken Wings we had met our expectations and was standard to what we typically receive at other restaurants that serve this dish. I would recommend this flavor if you never tried it before because it's pretty umami and flavorful. The Fried Quarter Chicken Leg is flavored with a garlic soy sauce glaze and served with rice. The coffee was our favorite and we thought it was excellent and strong. The service was great. The owner was very friendly, warm, and attentive. We got checked up on often and always had what we needed. I would come back and try their other drinks and menu options. read more

I placed an order online for pick up yesterday. I ordered the rare steak with brisket pho and also popcorn chicken. When I got to the restaurant about 15 minutes later, they told me that they are starting on the popcorn chicken now which takes about 8 minutes. I was a little annoyed that they didn't even start cooking it until I got there considering it wasn't busy inside and I even paid for everything prior to getting to the restaurant, but it's fine. The man at the register was friendly so that was a plus. The popcorn chicken was a 10/10, flavorful, crispy, and worth the $10. The pho was a 5/10 as the broth was lacking flavor, brisket was dry with no fat at all, and there was no tendon or tripe like every other pho restaurant. Next time I'll go back for the popcorn chicken but not for the pho. read more

Just had to make sure everyone knows that this establishment has potato corner fries!!!! After Potato Corner closed in the mall, I've always yearned for these fries and they have the exact same bbq seasoning. They unfortunately don't have the other seasoning but I'll take this over nothing!!! Also have to mention the fries itself were so crispy and delicious. Everything I had here was great! This is my new favorite pho place in Escondido. The new owner is super nice, and kindly explained what makes their pho special. He cleans the bones first and slow cooks the broth for 72hours like a proper base should be. The soup is delicious, with a warm white pepper front that lends flavor without heat. I got the rare steak/well done flank/beef meatball pho. The portions were huge, the meat was fresh, and I barely even added any spicy flavors so that I could enjoy the soup taste better. I got the oolong tea which he informed me that is make fresh daily, it was bright and just a hint sweet. Later he told me that he cuts his own meats, makes the meatballs in house, and refuses to use msg which for me is very important since I'm allergic. You should absolutely try this place! We used to be regulars at this spot with the previous business. Walked in and saw a new menu and was told they were under new ownership. Sadly things are simply not the same. Obviously this comes as no surprise when establishments are taken over but ugh, I'm so sad to see the original owner go. We got the vermicelli bowl, spring rolls and salted pepper chicken wings. What used to be a fresh mix of greens and herbs combined with a healthy serving of well seasoned pork atop a bed of vermicelli is now a very bland, lazy replacement. A humble serving of pork & noodles over a generous serving of chopped iceberg lettuce and bean sprouts. A side of pickled daikon and carrots and a sprinkle of peanuts. The dish seamed a bit oily as well. The spring rolls come with pork and shrimp. This was probably the best thing from the meal but it seemed like they were made ahead of time. Which I don't really care about. But the peanut sauce was not very good. Too much, hoisin maybe? It wasn't really giving me peanut sauce vibes and it had something like glass noodles and maybe carrots mixed in. Definitely not what I'm looking for as a side to spring rolls. The wings were decent, nicely seasoned. My wife thought maybe too much white pepper. But they smothered them in some wet mix of onions, bell peppers and jalapeños and made the ones that were under that mess soggy and unappealing So that's it for us. We will not be going back to this location. It's sad because we really liked the previous owners but I guess Escondido wasn't interested in fresh Vietnamese food. I do wish them success though, this area of town needs the diversity in the food scene and just because we didn't like it, others surely will. read more

The food is fresh and delicious! The portions are large and everything is fresh. They make their own sauce including their chili sauce! I don't usually write reviews but every once in a while I'm impressed enough that I feel I must. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The food is thoughtfully purchased, meticulously prepared with quality ingredients, and served by the most personable and friendly staff you can imagine. Deaken (the new owner) goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and I could tell right away that he takes great pride in what he does. My wife and I went visited the restaurant three times in one week during their soft opening. Twice for food and once for Vietnamese coffee that was also fantastic. I'm already looking forward to dining in again. Plus I've recommended this restaurant to a number of my friends already and will continue to do so. I hope and pray this place stays for good! Dear friends: no joking, this humble spot might be serving the best food in all of Escondido. We have been coming to Escondido twice a year for many years (to visit an elderly parent) so we have a good understanding of the local dining scene. We were thrilled to accidentally stumble upon Pho N More when searching for a quick lunch banh mi. Every element of the two banh mi we had was top-notch: from the soft but crusty roll, to the pickled carrot and daikon, to the house-made mayo, to just the right amount of cilantro, to the proteins themselves. We also had incredible freshly made takoyaki, showered in bonito flakes, Worcestershire, and that house-made aioli. Our lunch was so unexpectedly delicious that we returned later during our visit at dinnertime, specifically to try out some other items on the menu. We were not disappointed. The spring rolls were tender and flavorful. The broth for the pho was as good as any we've had: the chef has a light touch with roasted ginger, star anise, and shallots. The oxtail in the pho were perfectly seasoned and nearly falling off the bone. And the galbi-jjim rice noodle bowl was generously portioned, tender, and delicious. The attention to detail throughout the menu is evident even with the house-made beverage offerings: brewed Oolong tea is emulsified with white peach puree so that it almost looks as if it has milk in it, and the honey jasmine tea carries the herbaceous punch of green tea with just the right level of sweet. The owners, Deacon & Hannah, are obviously dedicated to the craft of honest food and warm hospitality. This place is the real deal. This restaurant is only a week old - but it is already performing way above its weight class. If we lived locally, we would dine here at least once a week - do yourself a favor and try it out soon. read more

I like spicy but I'd say these aren't that spicy to me. My daughter really liked the fish tank too. The ambiance is very calm. I ordered the Chicken Pho. His chicken is braised in tangy slightly spicy sauce the chicken is so tender and delicious it melts in your mouth!! Delicious broth that has No MSG and No GMOs. Their spring rolls were so fresh and so tasty! Their peanut sauce is unlike any other I've ever had! so unique yet so familiar! The staff is so kind and willing to answer any questions I had. The place is open and has a lot of indoor seating. What I love about their pho is how clear and balanced the broth is. They don't try to get sexy with all the additives, and I thought their Nuoc Beo presentation was brilliant. They slice the green onions to literally mop up their Nuoc Beo instead of the logs others places usually give you. I've never had that anywhere in San Diego county. Wow. Similarly to a review by "James," I visit Escondido 2 to 3 times a year to see family and I found this spot unexpectedly while running errands. As a fairly accomplished home cook, I was blown away by the quality of Deacon and Hannah's food. The broth in my incredibly generous bowl of beef pho was exceptional, and Deacon explained his meticulous methods of getting a good char on the ginger and shallots...even his oil for frying is a special blend, including olive oil for flavor enhancement. (I'm a broth fanatic.) These 2 hard-working souls are serving exceptional food in a city of mostly taquerias and fast food (not that I don't love a good taco too!!) But I truly hope that many more Escondido residents discover Pho 'N More and appreciate the high quality of their food. I wish them all the best for great success.
