    Grilled Chicken Banh Mi
    Ronald N.

I decided to dine inside Pho Nation on a Saturday Morning while the Farmers Market is happening. It was a good decision to dine inside since it is too cold to walk around The Farmers Market. I had the Fresh Spring Roll which was great. My Spring Roll had chicken inside which was good. Dipping the Spring Roll into the Peanut Sauce was amazing. The woman that works there has been giving me great service and she appreciate that I dine inside instead of walking around The Farmers Market. Business at Pho Nation has been doing good. Street Parking can be difficult to find but I prefer to park near Fernandez Park.

Bun Bo hue with barely any noodles
    min t.

So we decided to give it another try today. We went for the bun bo hue, pork rice plate and a banh mi. These are three full entrées and we are two adults and a two-year-old. We arrived at around 12:05. It's 12:45 and banh mi finally arrived (40 minutes for a sandwich?!) I woofed down the sandwich. Then the noodles came. It was so much soup, and barely any noodles. Again, gone within minutes - because barely anything. And for $17?! Rice plate takes another 10 minutes. Our poor two-year-old son just keeps staring at us eating the noodles and the sandwich and keeps saying I'm hungry.. where is my food? The place is severely understaffed with one waiter and one cook. I have an MSG sensitivity and the noodles and rice plate have tons. Unfortunately, the waiter says it's already premade with MSG and they cannot lessened or removed. Due to this, we will most likely will not be coming back.

So disappointed in this place! My partner and I came here on Friday night at around 7:20 pm, and immediately upon walking in we were informed by cashier that we would need to order soon and eat soon too because they close at 8:00 pm. Furthermore, we then proceeded to order and told us to pay beforehand but there were others sitting down and waiting for their order to be taken and didn't have to pay before...so if just started to give us bad vibes. Once food came, it looked good and seemed okay but the portion was small and had few veggies, compared to Pho Craze, who gives you a lot more. In addition when my partner wanted to order extra noodle, they immediately said no because their kitchen was closed but there was still 20 minutes until 8:00 pm. Overall this place left a bad impression on me and I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Fried Egg Rolls w/ sweet chili sauce

This spot gonna be my new fav spot in the North Bay besides my loyalties Besides their hearty sandwiches and Cha Gio Egg Rolls, I wanted to try the Crab Noodle Soup Bun Rieu this time. It's hard to find this with such rich deep flavor in the North Bay. Good portion of proteins (Shrimps, Pork Sausage slice, Ground Pork...) and fresh veggies. Nice amount of rice noodles. I didn't need to order the extra noodles that I did based on another's review. *(Online order doesn't have the option 2 add extra noodles so I left appropriate tip and told them when I picked up). **(Opening times are posted differently between Yelp & Google. I was able to order online through Yelp and set the time to 11am pick up... arriving earlier than 11 to open doors). The first time I ordered the Fried Egg Rolls, I believe I was given their Shrimp version by a very happy mistake, which I now prefer to the regular ones I received today. They had nice plump sweet shrimp & pork with tasty marinaded veg. The humble kind man & fam be chef'n it up at this spot! WELCOME to Pinole!

I recently visited this place . I was passing by and saw this was new so I decided to give it a try . It's nice and small inside yet very welcoming .The food was really good the broth was tasty and my 6 year old got the chicken plate and he loved it , the chicken was fresh and very well seasoned and the waiter was super nice. Definitely worth stopping by

TLDR: Got the wrong order and when they sent the right one, it had a fly (or roach) and hair in it. I was then argued with over the incorrect charge. 1) I ordered pho #2 and was served a rice dish #22. I corrected the server and was served pho a few minutes after my partner's food arrived. No problem - mistakes happen. 2) While putting the vegetable toppings on my pho, I noticed a long strand of hair. It was unmistakably the color of 1 staff member's hair - a dyed brown/ red. I notified the person that served me pho and he said "sorry" but did not send out new food or try to correct the situation in any way. 3) I decided to eat my pho and while drinking the broth, I saw there was a boiled fly / gnat / roach in my soup. I put it on a plate with the hair. (I'll be honest, I was so hungry I decided to eat the food anyways, but now I feel very sick...) 4) We went to pay our check and it was apparent that the listed item on the charge was the first wrong order - the rice dish that cost $2 more than my pho. The server that gave us the wrong order witnessed this exchange and did not correct the other staff member! or correct the charge for that matter! They then put a pho Large on the charge, but I was not served a Large, so still a incorrect (and overpriced) charge for a soup that had a fly/ roach boiled in it and a hair in the vegetables. I have understanding for some random issues that are inevitable mistakes like a fly or hair in my food, but to be argued with over $1 or $2 for double-y incorrect orders as we chose to PAY $50 for the food that was contaminated made me really frustrated with the experience.

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! It's a husband-and-wife team!

It had basically two tablespoons of chicken that looked boiled. The soup tasted like water which made me add too much chili paste. The noodles were nothing to write home about though homemade. There were not a lot of noodles and mostly a lot of water for 15 dollars. I think the soup was supposed to come with crunchy garlic but it did not come with anything but a little bit of cilantro. All in all, just a very sad dish for $15 which I could have made at home with nothing but boiled water and noodles from the supermarket. My husband had their massaman Curry beef. They were training someone to cook in the kitchen and this curry came out with the texture and flavor of water. They were very kind to refund us for the curry as it was completely tasteless. One of the kitchen staff tasted the curry themselves and said that it had no flavor and apologized profusely. The restaurant itself though clean has a strong unpleasant smell.

I recommended we grab pho but with the initial pick being closed, we pivoted to Pho Nation! When we came for dinner, it was quiet. We were one of the only customers but a few diners were coming in and out for takeout. The restaurant is super casual with not much decor or detail to it. The service was just okay and a bit confusing. For those dining in, they give you a menu and you order with them but everything else you need to go to the counter for (pay, water, any requests). We also weren't checked on during our meal. For food, I had the Regular Chicken Breast Pho. Even being a regular, it was a massive portion that I took home! The broth was good but I was never given a spoon. The noodles were on the smaller end as if they were cut. When I received my bowl the noodles were all compact so my theory is they just dumped it in there and assumed the broth would break it up. The chicken was tender. Everything else was on the table such as utensils, sauce, and garnishes. My old manager said her dish was great! I can understand this might be a fave pho place for residents in the area but I'm not sure if I'd willingly go back. It was great to try and the food was good. My friend decided to get extra meat and that was an extra $4. They also gave her double the vegetables for an additional $4 and extra meat as well. Her Thai iced tea was quite expensive for $6. Usually restaurants charge about $4 for Thai iced tea. I got their tofu sandwich which was full of tofu and not enough vegetables. I personally would have prefer more vegetables and less tofu. I did not like their tofu because it is a pre-fried tofu which is probably sold at Ranch 99 and from overseas. That kind of tofu has a non- creamy and somewhat tough texture. It's a bit dry even though they braise it. I prefer non-fried tofu that is slightly sauteed maintaining the creamy tofu texture. This was overly processed tofu. I will not order their tofu sandwich again. I would like to try their chicken sandwich next time and hope that they give me more vegetables. It will be nice to try some of their noodle soups which everyone else was ordering except for our table. The service was pretty quick. Their bathroom had no amenities like toilet paper. I will come back but don't know when.
