Pork shu mai and chicken scallop shu mai

King Valley Tea House will always have my heart! Dim sum is where it's at and their food is such quality. This is a restaurant that is deeply part of the community. It gets busy and also has its quiet moments. Great options and larger entrees to choose from as well. Their entrees get just as much love as their smaller portions. I highly recommend bringing people with you as this experience is so enjoyable with others, plus you can try more dishes out! Good pricing, kind staff, easy parking, and great food!

Never knew there was a tea house in Pinole. And it's pretty good! Many Asian customers so that was a good sign. A good crowd on Sunday morning they thinned out in the afternoon. I always over order at dim sum. And this was no exception. Everything we ordered was good! Ha gow, siu mai, turnip cake, steamed spare ribs, gai lan, baked pork buns. And also ordered a combo chow mein Hong Kong style which was very good. A solid dim sum place! Plenty of parking.

Went to King Valley Tea House in Pinole for lunch with family recently and was happy to have them bring us there. They have a good variety of dim sum you check off on what you'd like on the paper and bring it to you by cart. We ordered pork siu mai, chicken wings, Shrimp Dumplings, fried taro dumplings, deep fried shrimp balls, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, fried dumplings and lunch specials with sweet and sour pork and mongolian beef. The restaurant seemed to be a well oiled machine from the time we walked in. We were immediately seated during lunch during the week and our orders were taken right away also. Everything was brought to our table quite quickly also. The dim sum we ordered was flavorful and good sized. We were even taken back when our lunch plates arrived on how generous the portions were. Two people could have shared a plate by how large the portions were. Everything was fresh and service was on point. The dining area was always clean with plenty of seating.I can't wait to come back to visit family because I really would like to come back here! Two thumbs up!!

While this isn't the best dim sum, this is the closest to where I live and the prices are decent. They have all your standard dim sum options on carts, ready to be consumed! Dim sum is best served on weekends, the earlier the better!

Food was 100, service was 100, drop everything and just eat here! The baked bbq buns were my favorite out of all the things we ordered. The chairs are a little cramped but you won't notice if you're with good company! Bathrooms in the back and you can always order to-go!

In the cuts off the beaten path in Old Town Pinole, you'll find this little gem. King Valley is a solid choice for dine in or takeout Chinese food. The menu is very extensive and they serve both dim sum and your traditional entrees. For takeout, I would definetly recommend ordering ahead, sometimes the restaurant can be quite crowded and can be a 20-40 minute wait. Also the online menu isn't always accurate, it may be best to call especially for the dim sum menu For the dim sum: the fried shrimp dumplings are a MUST. Delicious crispiness packed with a yummy shrimp stuffing. It's also served with a wonderful dipping cream. The steamed shrimp dumplings are also great along with the shu mai. Have never been all that impressed with the custard tarts, there not bad but also not great. The spring rolls are forgettable. Love their Kung Pao entrees, you can never go wrong w/ shrimp, beef or chicken. Just the perfect amount of spiciness served in an array of mixed vegetables topped with/ an abundance of peanuts. I've seen a lot of places mess up sweet & sour and King Valley does it right. I've had both their sweet & sour chicken and pork and it's fried just right in a good sauce. The Peking duck is not that bad, and a great dish for amongst family & friends.

This review is for our 2/29 visit around 11 am. The XO noodle is delicious as always. I did notice the pork bun had a different sauce, more yellowish stain. I'd prefer the old one but this is still yummy though. Fresh handmade food and a good community vibe

    House Special Chow Fun

Went here not too long ago. We had their salt and pepper pork ribs, honey walnut prawns, Mongolian beef, the house special chow fun, mixed vegetables, and beef chow fun. The salt and pepper pork ribs were very good. Loved the crunch of the batter and the tenderness of the pork. The meat was seasoned perfectly with the salt and pepper. The jalapeños gave this dish a nice spice. The honey walnut prawns were not too bad. The prawns were pretty juicy. The condensed milk sauce was pretty sweet. The honey walnuts were like dessert and gave this dish a nice crunchy texture. The Mongolian beef was pretty good. The meat was very tender and the flavor was not too spicy. Loved the hint of sweetness. The veggies in the dish gave it a nice assortment of colors. The house special chow fun was okay. The noodles were chewy. The dish had beef, chicken, shrimp, and squid. Wished that we had more beef. The dish also had some green onions and bean sprouts for that nice crunchy texture. The flavors overall were okay. The mixed vegetables were much needed to balance out our meal. Broccoli, bok choy, zucchini, carrots, snow peas, and cauliflower were mixed with a nice blend of cooking oil and salt. The vegetables were cooked well and had a nice crunch. We opted to order beef chow fun to go. The beef was tender with a nice flavor. We also got the chow fun with gravy. The gravy was a definite must have to enhance the noodles and ingredients. Service was very efficient. The staff was very friendly upon arrival. We did not have to wait too long for our food to arrive. Our server made sure our tea was full. Not too bad of an experience eating here. Great to dine in King Valley after driving by it every Sunday after church.

We came here today just to have their sesame balls. We took them home and toasted them. They were very good but they were very small and the sizes were all different. Two of them had very little filling. For over $7, these are steep prices for their quality.

My favorite place to get dim sum and super yummy Chinese food!! Great atmosphere, clean, great servings, and amazing food!! I wish there was one closer to me! It's also great for parties. I celebrated my birthday there with 30 people. Ask them about their special menu and pricing for parties. The food kept coming at the party. By the 7-8th dish everyone was already full and had plenty of leftovers to enjoy at home. You won't be disappointed.

Ask the Community - King Valley Tea House

Do they let you know that they charge for tea and that they charge for gratuity automatically?

No! I realized that they always offer tea but no mention of the cost. I'll have to check on the gratuity part but not cool how they do that

Does anyone know when they will re-open?

No, but saw an updated sign dated 3/15/21 that they are remodeling and will open as soon as possible.

Last I saw the sign on the door said under renovation til March 21? Can anyone confirm this? The ph # no longer works.

Just checked it today. New sign dated 3/15/21 they are still remodeling. I really hope this is true!

Is reopening still on schedule for this weekend? We were trying to get takeout the day of the fire and have been waiting in anticipation ever since!

    They're OPEN!

Are they open? Wanted to get some food for NYE.

Sign on door updated reopening on February 21.

Does anyone know if King Valley tea house has re-opened yet?If not when they might open?

I keep calling, no answer as of today :(

Does anyone know why they've been closed this past week or so? UPDATE: just called 11/21/2020 and they said they're remodeling. Maybe reopen in January.

I heard they had a small kitchen fire mid October. They're likely closed temporarily for repairs.

Please don't close down, I've been calling and no answer. I live in Concord and it's to far to drive if no one's there I'm going through with dim sum withdrawals. Please update web site?

They've had a "closed" sign dated since 10/18/2020.

    Are they doing outside seating?

The restaurant does not have a place for outside seating. So far only takeout.

Here's what we ordered: Shrimp Fried Rice (6.5/10): The portion was good, but it was lacking a bit of flavor. Some bites were seasoned well while others tasted a little bland, so the seasoning felt uneven. Once I added the chili oil, though, it gave the rice a nice kick and made it much more enjoyable. BBQ Pork (10/10): My favorite dish of the meal! It was affordable, incredibly flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The balance of tender meat and just the right amount of fat made every bite delicious. Chicken Feet (9/10): Great flavor with a nice kick. You can really taste the jalapeño, which adds a subtle spice without overpowering the dish. Fried Shrimp Meatballs (8/10): These were a little on the oily side, but they had great flavor. The dipping sauce paired with them perfectly and really brought everything together.
