We have had pho bistro about 3-4 times now and the food is great! We've tried a handful of things and they were all tasty! One thing we were disappointed with was the banh mi sandwich. The sauce was so sweet and overwhelming and they don't have the pate, just slices of pork. Our favorites are A.10, S.6 (they use great quality meat, and for $15 you got a lot of meat in the soup! Worth it), C.6. Service is great but we prefer carrying out bc the location of the restaurant seems unsafe at night time. read more

Location: -close to downtown York -parking is street and depending on when you go can be a little challenging -it's a shop on the corner of the street Pho: -a little below average in term of quality, taste, amount of ingredients and size -I ordered a large but felt on the small side -I also order raw beef steak but it was already well done when it came out Mango smoothie -avoid - it is made more powder only and tastes very artificial. The food was really good (coming from a Californian who lives right near little Saigon where we have some of the best Pho outside of Saigon). We ordered a pho dac biet and a grilled pork spring roll. The spring rolls were fresher wrapped and the noodles were still warm inside. The flavor of the broth in the pho was delicious. The surrounding areas near the restaurant are a little rough but the restaurant itself seems to be located on a Main Street in downtown York and is really clean and decorated cute inside. I ordered here using the website and picked it up. The pho was fine. The tendon smelled bad and tasted the way it smelled . It was also very soft. When I called them to see if they can make a new one, the lady said it did not smell bad and doesn't taste bad because a customer ( while I was on the phone with her) said it taste fine. Which is super funny to me , because she was speaking Vietnamese as she was asking her cooks. Then she continued that she was the one that packed the meal for me and she knows it was not spoiled. And because I went through their website and ordered online for pick up through doordash, that DoorDash has to refund my money back. I said I don't care about a refund, I just want a new soup done with no tendon. She said she cannot do that, that I need to take it up with DoorDash. So happy to have found this authentic Vietnamese restaurant . The pho broth was significantly stewed over hours. I didn't care for the sweetness flavor. I couldn't pinpoint what it was from. The fried rice was so good!!! It was that kind of dish that you just want one more bite of despite you are so full. The service was so comfy and complete. What an amazing and unexpected experience . We ordered the pho with the flank, steak, and tendon. We also got the spring rolls with shrimp as well as a pork bank mi. Starting off with the spring rolls, they were as expected full and fresh. It came with a side of peanut sauce, which was fine. The bahn mi was superb really just crispy and delicious and fresh. But the pho really kicked out of the park. For some reason, it's hard to find a good place but this was just amazing. The broth was nice and simmered, took a lot of flavors of the basil and the lime, and simmered it into the various portions of beef. This has to be my new favorite pho place within 100 mile radius. Pho Bistro was the first stop in my quest to try and find the best pho in York County. My usual spot is in Harrisburg, so having a local option would be great. The restaurant sits on a corner lot with easy access to parking. The inside has plenty of seating, well decorated and appears clean. Upon entering I was promptly greeted by a member of the staff despite the fact that you seat yourself. The service was great. My waitress was friendly and attentive. Now to the important part. I ordered a side of pork spring rolls to start and a bowl of pho with rare steak, well-done brisket, and tendon. The spring rolls came quickly and were accompanied with a peanut dipping sauce, which was delicious. The spring rolls tasted fresh and were also very good. The foundation of any good pho is the broth. Let me tell you, this broth is excellent. Clear and packed full of flavor. The meat was cooked nicely and the one piece of tendon I had was soft. The noodles were loose in the bowl, so you know they were cooked fresh. You can definitely tell that the pho is made with love and quality ingredients. Now to my one and only critique. The portion size seems to be smaller than I am used to for the price point. I'm not sure if they have a small and large, but I generally do a large bowl when given the choice. The meat and tendon, while cooked and flavored nicely, was rather skimpy. Only one piece of tendon in the bowl and a few strips of beef. Overall, I rate this a 4/5. A great start to my pho quest. read more

I'm disappointed to have to decrease my rating. I've been here several times since my first review and although the service remains outstanding, they've changed the broth for the pho. It went from very flavorful to way too sweet and sort of bland. I had to add a large amount of lime to combat the sweetness. I really hope they bring back the original broth! read more

Friendly and informative making you feel at home immediately. The menu has many delightful choices and plenty of meatless options. I am a carnivore and I am now hooked on the tofu spring rolls and peanut sauce. I also had the chicken Pad Thai and fell in love. Of course we are here for the Pho? Visiting from Los Angeles, I was obviously a bit hesitant to trust glowing reviews of a Vietnamese restaurant in downtown York. 'Nuff said. But after deciding to take a risk this afternoon and check out the new kid on the block, I'm glad that I did. A quiet, unassuming little corner shop close to the intersection of Market Street and Sherman Street, Pho Bistro does a great job of creating Vietnamese food for the masses. That is to say, staying authentic while respecting the more conservative diners in the local area. The goi cuon (summer rolls) contained excellent flavored shrimp, fresh mint, and just the right amount of cilantro. The banh xeo (curry crepe), came in a pair, which means that one is in the refrigerator at home waiting for me to get snacky later. As good as it was, that might not last too long. My mother's pho ga (chicken noodle soup) was delicious, and my mi xao (crispy noodles) was the best dish of the four. I encourage everyone who's a virgin to the experience of Vietnamese food to give this place a chance. By combining basic ingredients (noodles, rice, grilled chicken shrimp and beef), in creative ways, it's a great change of pace for anyone tired of Chili's and TGIFridays that won't push your limits to a scary place. Ordered through Uber eats. The driver picked it up and when it got to me it was only the appetizer and drink. Pho was missing. Called the restaurant and the lady said she missed it! How can you forget an item which is your main dish and to think theres only 3 items in it ! She did not even apologize.! Just said either to cancel it or the driver can go back and pick it up. Luckily, the driver was kind enough to do another pick up. Gave him a second tip which he deserves. Can't say the same for the store though. read more

The stir fried, yellow curry bun bowl is to die for. It's not the soft curry in a bowl of sauce that you get at Thai places. No! This is perfectly grilled, aromatic meat (I chose the chicken and shrimp) that on its own would probably be delicious--so much lemongrass flavor--but then it was stir fried with a yellow curry, also rich in flavor, along with veggies and set atop vermicelli noodles. We ordered medium pho with meatballs and rare steak along with crispy spring rolls! Spring rolls usually come with nuoc mam (fish sauce), but we asked for peanut sauce instead, which was okay; not enough peanut flavor for my personal liking.
