Service and food quality have gone down and they are not as consistent as they used to be in terms of quality, freshness and flavor of food! The staff were not attentive to us at all and did not make sure we had everything we needed at our table. I recall having to get up once to get their attention. The table and chair we chose to sit at was slightly dirty - old food left on the chair prob when the bussers were wiping down the table and it just fell onto the chair...but still it's gross! Recently came back after a while. I think this restaurant changed owner because Food was not good. We ordered Pho dac biet and bun cha Ha Noi. Both dishes were disappointed. The noodle in the Pho now is big strands not thin one that I always have at other Pho restaurants. Also noodle was not fresh, it was dried package noodle that they boiled. It smells nothing like freshly made noodles that other Pho restaurants use. I do not like this kind of noodle in Pho. The meat portion in Pho was just a few pieces. The meatballs were cut into 4 small pieces which was a no no. Bun cha Ha Noi was worser than the last time I had it here. The meat balls in bun cha ha noi has no flavor and were so dry eventhough they sat in nuoc mam. Portion of meat and noodle was very small. Both Pho dac biet and bun cha ha noi were 2 stars for taste. My normal pho place is closed on Sunday and I was craving it since I was a bit under the weather. The reviews seemed good so I thought I would try them out, but they were not as good as my typical spot. The place is bigger than it looks in the outside and the staff were ok. As I made a to go order I cannot say how service is in house. Food: The appearance of the food was exciting because everything was packaged separately, but finally eating changed things. First the pho noodles were flat noodles and not the typical noodle found in pho which I thought was taking away the experience of the pho. The lean beef had ginger in the bag but it worked nicely. The broth was light but had nice flavor. The egg rolls were overly fried and I could taste the grease plus the dipping sauce was thin and had a weird carrot slice in it so I did not try. As far as the ban mi the meat was flavored perfectly and the best part of my order. If I did return I would not order the pho but I would try some other things off the menu. read more

I've been to Pho Nguyen several times, and my only real complaint is that it seems the quality of the pho broth is not consistent. The first couple of times I tried it, I thought it was literally the best pho I've ever had. After that, it has never been quite as good as the first time. It's like the proportions of spices are not the same each time for some reason. That being said, it is still quite good, and worth trying! The restaurant is clean, and they serve a carafe of pH adjusted water (Kangen Water, if I'm not mistaken) with stainless steel cups when you sit down. The service is pretty good, though we have had items ordered and charged, but never delivered on two occasions I can remember. There was never any issue having them removed from the bill. I think the staff just gets a bit overwhelmed at times - this place seems to do a lot of business. It's always been at least half full every time I've been there. As side note, I noticed that the restaurant has a You Tube channel silver Creator Award on the wall, signifying 100K subscribers. The channel is named "Thanh Long Tieng", but the only channel by that name I can find has nothing to do with food, so I'm not sure of the significance of that or how it's related to the restaurant. Such an amazing experience! My first time here with my boyfriend we had the chicken fried dumplings as an appetizer. These were crispy, juicy and all the right flavors! For our mains I got the grilled pork chop rice platter and he got the grilled chicken rice platter. We both got an egg on top and everything was delicious. Bad customer service, we were a table of 4 people and called 4 bun cha ha noi, which is a food that takes a lot of space so we asked for a 6 people table. The worker wanted to charge us extra because it was "dinner time". The past times we've came here (2-3 times), everything was alright, no one made a big deal. Woweeee. This might be the best pho I have ever had!! Who knew it'd be in Houston, TEXAS?! My friend (who is from Vietnam) told me to try this pho joint, so naturally I got the $14.50 XL bowl of F1 pho dac biet. There was a ginger taste, which I haven't experienced with pho in Los Angeles. The noodles are also thicker (and cooked softer) than what I'm used to in LA. The bun cha ha noi $13.50 was also delicious. I saw a lot of older Vietnamese grandmas eating this around me. It came with two servings: one bowl of grilled meat in fish sauce and one plate with vermicelli and herbs. They served a small side of garlic and spice that added so much flavor to the dish. I had to ask for more, and they happily obliged! The egg rolls were also pretty good! This restaurant is a ways out of the Bellaire area, so I can see how that can deter fans from frequently more regularly. There's a good sized parking lot though, so that was nice. It's 2022 and this place still has amazing food! They have been so consistent, which I love. Their portions are still huge at a reasonable price. The meat is always flavorful and NOT fatty! I love that. I also want to compliment how they package the to-go orders. They use large and sturdy containers AND still give you lots of meat. Sometimes I worry about ordering to-go because of container size so thinking I would get less bang for my buck. However, it is not the case here at Pho Nguyen. The packaging is so esthetically pleasing and neat! They also have a small boba menu, and I tried the strawberry lemonade w/ rainbow jelly that came w/ it. It's like typical lemonade, but a bit sourer. Bún chả is a good, different experience if you are a fan of bún thịt nướng, and it's worth the try! For their phở, there are times where the broth tastes good or bland, and they also use slightly thicker noodles, like most phở over in Vietnam. So far, this is the only Vietnamese restaurant I know in Cyfair that serves bún chả. O.K. I have wanted to try this place for a long time since I pass by the restaurant all the time. So I finally had a chance to jump in for a quick lunch. The place when you first walked in, it doesn't look like much, but very clean. The staff great you right away and you seat yourself. This place is not very big but it can hold about 40ppl. The menu was very simple and with not much clutter of items.. They have just enough to feed your Vietnamese crave for pho and other rice dishes. The spring roll "the white wrapper kind". was very fast to serve and for me it tasted pretty good. The sauce is a bit lacking but will do for a pinch. We order Pho for our lunch, and the soup was very tasty, and the meat was very tender. The server was not much after the order was serve and kind of disappear. But we are here for the food and see how it taste and we did just that.. As for I will return or not, that is a maybe. Since other Pho places offer a bit more and the variety of menu items are better and the price is a but better than this place. But for a pinch and easy to get In and out, I would try it again. But if I have other choices close by, I would go to the other instead. But do go and give it a try and see for yourself. After trying many pho place around Houston, I think this is just my favourite. The portion is plenty. I usually order a special pho size XL to go and that would last me 2 meals. It's a good saving. Delicious, delicious pho. I haven't had pho elsewhere since I first tried it earlier this year, and I've been back many times since. They serve Hanoi style pho, which is more savory and the noodles are flatter and wider than typical pho noodles. I love the aroma of ginger in the broth, and they do not skimp on the meat. We've come here three times now, and the food is great every time! We get beef pho and pork bánh mì. I also get a fried egg with my pho, which is delicious. They put so much meat in their pho that it fills you right up. One of the best things about their pho broth is they put fresh ginger. The employees are attentive, helpful, and kind. The only downside is the flies when you eat inside. The closer you sit to the door/windows, the worse the flies are. Last time we asked to move spots because of the flies and they accommodated and helped us move everything. Overall, we really like coming here, even though there are pesky flies. read more
