As a Vietnamese person, the broth was not it, no flavors and felt like they cheap out using broth powder seasonings. The noddles and meat were good, but the broth was bland. And I eat a lot of pho places in my life, I'm coming from Orange County, we have a lot of pho spots in Little Saigon, I know this place isn't Richmond but reading other reviews thought I would give this place a chance. This isn't authentic pho at all, there wasn't even the spices smell when you walk it. Service was decent, it wasn't that busy to dine in just a bunch of orders to go. Will I come back? No, sorry. We stopped by for lunch before the outlets - the restaurant is tucked away in a pretty empty strip mall. We ordered a couple dishes including pho. The first time the pho came out, it wasn't hot and the noodles were so stuck together in a clump i couldn't break it up without having tiny pieces of noodles. It clearly had been sitting in the back. The staff graciously remade the pho, but not sure why that happened in the first place. Restaurant was not busy. Overall the food was ok and quantity decent as well. Came here for lunch on a weekday, they were moderately busy at lunch time, but there was no waiting. Service is pretty quick and relatively friendly. The menu has a large list of various Vietnamese dishes, including stir fries and pho soups. I tried their Cơm Đĩa with lemon grass beef. The dish came with a small bowl of pho broth, as well as the dish of many items, including the beef. The beef was rather dry and didn't haven't much of a lemon grass flavor. There are many Vietnamese restaurants around Ashburn and Leesburg, but most of them are either over priced and/or not that good. A bowl of soup shouldn't cost $15+. I think Pho Royal is a good value. The large pho bowls actually fill you up, and they cost around $10-12. My kids eat pho, and you can get a large plain one for around $7. The rice dishes are good, have generous portions, and are reasonable priced. The only thing I have been disappointed with have been the banh mi sandwiches. I thought they were a little skimpy on the meat for the $8 price tag. When I walked into the restaurant to pick up my food, it was apparent that some tables hadn't been cleaned yet and the waitstaff seemed a bit disorganized. One of the few pho options in Leesburg. It does the job especially on a cold day. Dad likes this place and we get consistent service and food here. All the pho combos are fine especially combos 13-17 due to the types of proteins you can have such as tripe and tendon. While they have other dishes such as the rice vermicelli entrees, you're here for the pho since it's the name of the business! Although their appetizer list is small compared to other places, they have solid spring rolls and egg rolls with the dipping broth; usually crunchy but kind of moist on the inside, it's a great tune up before getting your pho on. Came in here after shopping for hours at the Leesburg Outlet, so you know your girl was starving! The pho took a little longer than what I'm used to, but it wasn't unbearably long. I don't know if it's because I was starving, but it was so good. I felt like I was coming back to life again while slurping the noodles and soup. Our whole family enjoyed and killed our large bowls. The broth was on the lighter side so it was easier for me to finish my whole bowl. Meat was plentiful and they provide sauces in disposable containers in order to be mindful of the COVID situation. So the first time I came back under the new management (end of June), I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the quality of the pho. The noodles tasted really weird, unlike anything I've had before here. I later found out that the management had changed since the last time I came. I went to look for another pho place in Leesburg, but my search has been unsuccessful. I came back with my family tonight (I was personally wary), and I was surprised with the same, good quality pho (with ample meat) I had once been accustomed to. They've also started serving bubble tea! I had the Thai iced bubble tea, but it unfortunately tasted just like sweetened milk--like the residual sugary milk after you've finished all your cereal. They say they have a lot of vegetarian options but they do not, I wanted to get a vegetable pho but they don't even offer that, you can only get bone broth with noodles, that's all, it doesn't bring any vegetables or tofu to make it more worth the money you are paying. So many things were wrong with this restaurant so I'll start with a list. 1. We got there and were told to seat ourselves and apparently that also means get your own menus too. 2. Another table sat down after us and were served with their drinks, water and food before us. 3. We ordered an order of egg rolls, 2 banh mi combos, and 2 large bowls of pho. The order comes out and one sandwich was the wrong protein, no egg rolls and one small pho and one large pho. 4. Now to the food, the banh mi sandwiches barely had any meat inside. The pho broth was bland. 5. I go to pay and tell the waitress that she shouldn't charge me for 2 large pho bowls when we clearly didn't get 2 large bowls. Only to find out she tried to charge me for an extra banh mi that we didn't order. She says oh my goodness as if it: my fault she overcharged me. My wife and I live in Loudoun and we finally decided to try Pho Royal today for lunch. We both love Pho but have never had it together because it's more of a lunch thing for us because it's usually quick, I work in Herndon and she works in Falls Church. We were both off from work today and decided to try Pho Royal. What a disappointing and offending experience it was, but not with the food because we didn't eat. We have no idea if their Pho is good or not. When we walked in, there were several tables occupied with customers but the rest of the tables had not been cleared and cleaned. We waited about five minutes for a table and finally seated. We then waited another ten minutes for our order to be taken. Even with this, we were not annoyed, we understand that businesses are struggling with staffing during the pandemic. What's upsetting is that two male Asian gentlemen came in after us and were seated and served before us. A few minutes later an Asian woman and a Caucasian male couple came in, were seated and again served before us. My wife and I frustrated, continued to wait for another ten minutes or so and finally had enough and decided to leave. I'm not sure if this was an isolated incident but we have no plans of returning, we'll drive to Herndon for Pho 75. FYI: Neither my wife or I are Asian, not that it should matter... read more

We stumbled across this location on a whim and decided to give it a shot. The food was ok, definitely not the best I've had. I appreciated the sauces being in their own separate containers. The customer service was the worst, the lady there was extremely rude and off putting. She brought me back an ice cup, but there was an obvious black spot in the ice. Anybody with eyes could have seen it. Upon a closer look, I realized it was a spider. I waited to tell her discreetly because I didn't want to cause a scene. I understand that mistakes happen, but she was very rude and rolled her eyes at us. Then she said "so do you want another cup or what?" took our cups and left without another word. This hidden Pho restaurant is the best Pho restaurant my family and I have ever eaten at. The food is top notch and the staff are friendly and pay attention to your needs. They are more than willing to modify dishes to suit your needs. During the Onslaught of the Covid crises we thought they had closed. We were devastated. We tried numerous Pho restaurants in the area, including places in Stirling, Ashburn Village, One Loudoun and others. We gave each place we tried several opportunities to impress us but none were as good as Pho Royal in Leesburg. When we discovered the restaurant open for business we were ecstatic!
