I've eaten at just about every restaurant in this shopping center over the years, so I'm not sure why it took me so long to try Gogi Go Go. It's truly a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, Jackie made us feel incredibly welcome. His genuine hospitality made it feel less like dining at a restaurant and more like being invited over for a traditional, home-cooked Korean meal. Having traveled and dined in Seoul many times, I really appreciated how authentic everything tasted. Every dish was freshly prepared and full of the bold flavors that I expect in Korean cuisine. One of my biggest pet peeves is when restaurants water down Tteok Bokki until it tastes like sweetened tomato paste. Gogi Go Go absolutely nailed it. The spice profile had the right amount of heat, and the rice cakes had the perfect chewy texture. The Pajeon was loaded with fresh vegetables and beautifully cooked, with a crisp exterior and tender center. The BBQ bowls have generous portions and the Bul Dak sauce was packed with flavor. Their Kimchi was delicious as well and tasted very fresh. A surprise of the night was the soy garlic wings. Since Gogi Go Go doesn't really market themselves as a Korean fried chicken restaurant, we ordered this with fairly low expectations. I definitely underestimated them. They arrived piping hot, perfectly crispy, generously coated in sauce without becoming soggy, and were well sized. They honestly rival, and in fact surpass, some of the dedicated Korean fried chicken spots we've seen come and go in the area. As someone who's a long time Ashburn resident, I remember when there were very few authentic Korean restaurants nearby, and to experience a good one meant driving to Fairfax or Centreville. It's exciting to see that changing in recent years, and Gogi Go Go is a fantastic addition. Their authentic, home-style dishes really hit the mark. There's lots of variety in the menu and you're sure to find something you'll love. The atmosphere is casual enough for an everyday meal (we had just come from the gym), yet the level of hospitality makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another customer (that quality can be hard to find and truly makes this place special). I tried Gogi Gogo in Leesburg for the first time today. I ordered the bulgogi lunch box and the chicken katsu lunch box for takeout. The owner was very kind, and they were quite generous with the portions. They even included plenty of salad and miso soup. I really liked that the lunch boxes (Doshirak) came with a variety of side dishes like rolled omelet, japchae, tempura, and more so you get to enjoy many different items along with the main dish. The takeout was packaged very well and everything was neat and clean. Gogi Gogo, run by a husband-and-wife team, is a homey spot for high-quality and very flavorful Korean dishes (and a few Japanese ones, too). There is so much to love about this family-owned business. The friendly owners obviously put lots of care into the dishes that they prepare, and they show great attention to detail. We love that soondubu comes in a stone bowl, for example. We also appreciate how the proprietors show us how to eat the assorted dishes, like which sauce accompanies which item. It feels like they want us to enjoy things "the right way," and that goes to show how dedicated they are to showcasing this cuisine, regardless of the diner's level of experience with Korean food. Our whole family appreciates how well executed their cooking is. And the owners don't just excel at authentic Korean dishes, both more traditional (rice cake soup) and street food/fusion ones (rose tteokbokki). They also make exemplary ramen! The broth is to die for--my picky son's favorite in NOVA. And I can tell just looking at the pork belly and the ramen egg that each component is masterfully prepared and delicious on its own, and as part of the noodle soup bowl. One thing that you'll consistently find at this mom-and-pop business is that their food preparations lean toward balanced and clean flavors. Their food is noticeably less oily compared to similar establishments. Still living up to their standard and quality of food. The Bul-gogi dosirak & tonkotsu kimbap were delicious alongside their housemade kimchi. I wanted to highlight their amazing service because mom and I had dropped by for lunch after visiting my dad from the hospital and were tired and sad but the employee sent well wishes and even provided us with a small sweet treat of the mochi red bean ice cream and that small gesture really touched us. The sweet dipping sauce was nice. For the ramen, we received a small side of kimchi to share. I was wondering where the banchan was, it didn't exist. The flavor was pretty good. My family ordered takeout from this restaurant with few expectations and were pleasantly surprised with the food. I personally got a pork galbi Dosirak. The galbi was so delicious, it almost tasted like I was eating at a KBBQ restaurant! You could really taste the slight char and deep flavor from the marinade. I was extremely impressed with it. I'm not too familiar with most of the sides in the rest of the Dosirak box, but they were average or good at best. My one gripe is that the prices seem to be VERY high for what you get. I was the only one to get a Dosirak box, and it seemed like I was the only one who ended up full after the meal. Bear in mind, my Dosirak was $21, but other options on the menu run from $15-20, and some even go as high as $30! read more

Needed a clean sit down place to have an impromptu dinner in Ashburn. We found this place next to one our favorite sushi places and decided to try. The eating area was small but we were there before the dinner rush and were seated immediately. The menu had a large variety of Korean dishes. Food was made to our order and came out quick and was fresh. Waitress didn't appear friendly when she took our order but as we spoke to her more - she became friendly and soon smiled to us and made sure we were good after dinner. Good place. Food is good. The service isn't the best considering the woman who works here does come off as a bit rude and cold so I stopped dining in. I also got served noodles that I'm sure were fried in burnt oil.
