Good food, family owned for decades. Mostly carry-out business but has a few tables for dining. Good soups & shrimp dishes are my fave.

Wow! And double Wow! Visited China King's based on reviews here and by coincidence it was located in Downtown Leesburg, which I was driving through at the time. We were warmly greeted by a young man, who pretty much handled all of the small front of the house, as well as helping out on call-in orders. You order at the counter from a decent sampling of Chinese food. My wife ordered the beef and broccoli (B+), my son the Orange Chicken (A+) and I the Kun Pao Chicken (A+). My son and I agreed that our orders were by far the best we have ever had! And while we were making longing noises and we ate, we also learned that there was no way were were going to finish it all. So we packed up the remainder for later or tomorrow. As others have noted, the coating on the chicken was crispy, but in no way impacted the texture of the chicken inside. I cannot speak more highly of the sauce, which had a nice little kick to it. My only downer on this is that it is located so far from home, as I would be there weekly, if not more. read more

OH MY GOSH..... I am visiting from Iowa and my daughter who lives here wanted to try it as she has Celiac and heard good reviews. I do not have Celiac. The gal who waited/ served us was very knowledgeable about the menu items. The General Tso's Chicken was "out of this world!!! There was another patron who also ordered it and we both got into a discussion about how delicious it was. He said he won't eat Chinese anywhere else and orders this EVERY Time he comes!!! Good: the spare ribs and the pot stickers. Bad: everything else. I have never eaten such tasteless Chinese food. If I was blindfolded, I'd have no idea which mouthful was the fried rice, the beef with broccoli, or the spring rolls. The sheer amount of duck sauce and hot mustard we had to use to impart some flavor into the food was astounding. And then, everything tasted like duck sauce and mustard. Never having been much of a fan for spring rolls over egg rolls, the ones we got were greasy and just as tasteless as everything else, reinforcing my choice of egg rolls for all future orders from all future Chinese delivery places. And the worst of the worst was the soup. The hot and sour soup had a nasty aftertaste, as though the pot hadn't been properly rinsed after washing. One spoonful each and the rest went down the drain. Well, this was our first Chinese delivery since moving to Leesburg. Hopefully, the next one will be much, much better. read more

All were great, the general tsos had nice chunks of white meat chicken and the beef and broccoli had the appropriate ratio of beef to broccoli. Update from the first time trying this. We've been back many times and the food is always delicious. The general tsos chicken has an amazing slight fresh ginger flavor. The spice level is perfect and the chicken is always fresh and hot. The texture is also perfect. Most places have soggy chicken with the sauce added, but this place has the right texture, temperature, flavor, and the portions are great. Highly recommend this restaurant. Also the spring rolls and slightly different for the flavor than other Chinese places and it makes it really tasty. They are crispy as well. The kung pao is good also. This has become the only place that I will get Chinese food from because no place else compares. We drive 40 minutes from where we live to get there as well. read more

Chinese food is my favorite cuisine, and I've eaten a lot of it over the years--so I'm extremely particular. The first dish I always try at a new restaurant is Kung Pao chicken. It's a difficult dish to get right, requiring multiple steps that many places skip in the interest of speed and cost. China King makes the best Kung Pao chicken of any restaurant I've found in Northern Virginia--and I've tried most of them. It's even better than what I've had at the so-called "gourmet" Chinese spots closer to D.C. Overall, I'd rank China King as the best Chinese restaurant in the entire D.C. area in terms of proper Chinese food. Unfortunately, I drive a large vehicle that doesn't get along well with the nearby parking garage, so I don't eat here as often as I'd like. I really wish they'd join one of the food delivery services so I could enjoy their food more often. If you know proper Chinese food, then you'll like this place. read more

First they have excellent excellent customer service. The inside is small, yet cute very homey feeling and clean. However, the sesame chicken was very underwhelming. I'm not sure if this is how it normally tastes but it tasted of pure ketchup. I so wanted to love it because I've been wanting to try them for a couple years. I just can't get past the ketchup/vinegar flavor in it. I would probably try the general or orange chicken in hopes it doesn't taste similar to the sesame. read more

We were craving Chinese & not only did this place hit the spot, it def exceeded our expectations! It's not a huge restaurant but very family friendly for our fam of 6 (w 4 kids under 6yrs). The restaurant was clean, service was great--very attentive. Our kids all got water in kid-friendly paper cups, we needed a booster & high chair, all available. We ordered hot & sour soup, general tso's chicken, beef lo meinx2, Singapore noodles & some yummy chili oil on the side. All the food came out quick, scorching hot & VERY tasty. This place seems like it's going down hill. Came here with BF for lunch. Had the garlic chicken, but the sauce it on it just wasn't very good. Kind of tasted like it had a lot of vinegar. Just not good at all. The wonton soup was OK, but not as good as Chen's Garden. I've been coming here for 5+ years! Whenever I want some good, Americanized Chinese food, I come here! Their hot and sour soup is my all time favorite soup. I could probably eat just this as a meal. I love the kick of spice and vinegar. The bamboo shoots are also yummy in the soup. As far as entrees, I really enjoy their kung pao without peanuts (I have an allergy) and their thai basil chicken. Both are so flavorful. If you couldn't tell yet, I also love spicy food. The kung Pao is slightly spicy and the thai basil is more flavorful than spicy, tbh. On a recent cold, rainy night, my son and I popped in for takeout. The staff were very friendly, service was efficient and the food was delicious. We asked the hostess about the orchids in the windows. She and her brother shared family knowledge on the flowers. They both kindly interacted with a family dining in. It was obvious the restaurant is a known neighborhood restaurant with sting ties to residents. When we got home, our food was still hot, nothing had leaked and each dish was cooked as we requested (not too much sauce, added egg to rice,...).
