2026 and my review still stands the same from 5 years ago. I've come back a few times because this place is a few of my friends pick for their favorite pho. Broth is still good, can't complain there. But I can't help but notice they still return plates of the vegetables (bean sprouts, cilantro, lime) back to the kitchen, if most of it looks unused after a table is finished. I have tried countless Vietnamese restaurants over the years in many different cities, so far this is one the most authentic and best one. The soup base of pho is really savory and flavorful. I love how their broth is hot and not lukewarm like typical pho places. Spring rolls are freshly made there and cooked perfectly. Grilled pork, crispy pork and Banh mi are also dish you need to try. If you're looking for great pho, look no further. I have been to Pho Saigon twice - once for takeout and once to dine in - and both times were quite delicious. Each time I have ordered #20 (Pho Tom with spicy broth) along with spring rolls. After my second visit, I wouldn't bother with the spring rolls again but the pho doesn't disappoint. The spicy broth is perfect for me and I don't fancy myself to have a high tolerance for spicy food. That said, one sip and my mother nearly gagged so proceed with caution if you're wary. The owner/manager (I assume) is friendly and efficient but some of the other staff a little less so. For example, when a young woman brought us the bill and carry out containers, she didn't utter a word and seemed annoyed. This place always hits the spot!! My bf and I love coming here. They can get pretty busy around dinnertime but the tables clear up quickly so the wait isn't too bad. We usually both get pho and share the summer rolls (highly recommend!!). The food comes out quickly, but the last time we came I think they were busy and something happened with our order so we didn't get it for a long time, but once they realized, they apologized and even gave us each a Thai tea for the trouble which was so nice. I was really blown away by the quality of the pho at Pho Saigon during a recent stop in Catonsville for lunch. The place was busy but not too crowded. I was with a small group and we ordered a good variety of dishes including their pho with brisket and fatty flank steak, spring rolls, ban xeo, bun cha, vegetarian bun bo hue, and lemon grass chicken with fried rice. I tried the pho, spring rolls and ban xeo. The pho was incredibly flavorful and the meat was succulent and tender - I didn't even need to add hoisin or Sriracha. The spring rolls were filled with minced chicken instead of the pork and shrimp I'm used to but were nonetheless delicious and wrapped in the traditional rice paper. I wished the ban xeo was crispier and filled with less bean sprouts. I also wished they served green lettuce instead of iceberg with the ban xeo, but that's a relatively minor issue. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. I can't wait to stop by again next time I'm In the area. read more

First time visit and service was transactional at best for a dine in experience. Once seated we were immediately informed they close at 9pm on Sundays. Our bowls were served before the cha gio. Broth was acceptable. During our meal, staff continued to prep for close as tables were cleared and chairs were turned upside on the tables for floor sweep. The dining area isn't big at all, and I did not appreciate that floors were being swept as there were patrons still eating. Dust from foot traffic do not belong in the air of a dining space, most especially when people are still eating. The smell of cleaning solution infused the air too. I've dined in many places and many nearing closing time. This is the first. Sigh. Be warned and plan ahead in case for dine in, 1hr before closing time. Sunday or any day for that matter. read more

In my mind this was going to be the perfect Vday restaurant for its unassuming location in a nearly vacant strip mall where we wouldn't need a reservation or have to wait. I was wrong! As we arrived we were among three other parties standing near the door waiting to be seated. Due to the size of the restaurant we couldn't help but stare at all the delicious food being consumed. The interior is cozy/tight. We were given a relatively short wait time and surprisingly we were in fact seated very quickly at one of the middle comunal tables. Our order was taken promptly and our food arrived about 15-20 minutes later. The pho was pho-nominal! And the pork perfectly seasoned and cooked. There was plenty of broth to take home. Based on the amount of foot traffic for pick up orders and willingness to stand and wait for the hopes of a seat, the secret is out. Ordered and paid online the Bun Bo Hue, a spicy beef and pork noodle soup with sliced Vietnamese ham, beef brisket, pig's knuckle (yes, you read that right), and a pork blood cube (you read that right too!) The order was ready by the time I arrived. Upon entering I gave my order info and pickup was a breeze (the staff were pleasant). When I arrived home and unpacked my order, they had it compartmentalized: broth in a reusable container; noodles and meat in a reusable bowl; the accompaniments: (shredded red and green cabbage, jalapeño slices, lime wedges, bean sprouts , and lemongrass along with small packets of hoisin sauce, hot sauce and hot pepper oil), in a plastic bag. I assembled my bowl minus the pork blood cube, I haven't advanced to that level of pho eating yet, and dug right in. The broth was tasty, but a bit greasy. The beef brisket was tender along with the ham, but the pork knuckle, which I was really excited about, was a bit tough. The noodles had bite, which I like. I added a bit of the hot pepper oil and let me warn you, go easy on that stuff! The little bit I added was just enough for me to "feel the fire", but still enjoy my pho. The booth seats are made out of hard plastic, so if you're swearing shorts and it's a hot summer day, you still definitely sweat on them... Service here is nothing to write home about. It's your typical pho restaurant service where they hand you the menu and ask you immediately what you want. The only weird thing is that they made us move seats and then they would take our order. After we moved seats, they basically forgot about us and I had to wave them down! So that was kind of annoying. I ordered their beef pho with steak and tendon. I was really disappointed that there was basically 2 tiny pieces of tendon. The pho was good though! I can see why they have such high reviews. I ordered a small and it was definitely more than enough to fill me up. Their large size is $2 extra. There is no medium size. Absolutely on e of the best Pho places in the DMV. It appears that the ownership has changed but the food is still consistent and the same. The pho soup is absolutely to die for! I can't get enough of this comfort food. The portions are humongous and the ChaGio is delicious. They actually use the correct wrapper for the spring roll instead of the egg roll skin. Really love this place but the wait can be a pain since they are almost always full. Aside from the different Pho Noodle soup, you must try the Vietnamese wings. I will say this place got very busy so while I walked in and was seated right away, when I was leaving, there were a few people waiting for tables to open up. Service was quick and friendly! This place is my staple pho place. Even though there are closer pho places near me, I'll always take the hour drive to come back and eat here. It feels like home here. I have taken many people here and it has always became a staple especially after a hangover. The soup is always consistent and the amount of vegetables they give for pho is so much. The amount of meat they give you is crazy. The spring rolls was very refreshing and the peanut sauce that came with it was also very good! There are bags covering the sauces and the sriracha has been questionable but since I don't really use them, I don't really mind. We 1:00 very full, I was very happy. We waited 15 till we were sat. We got a table by the registers and kitchen so we could see everything. No real waiters just 1 person taking orders for all and 3-4 food runners. The dishes looked big i got excited in a time of terrifs a good amount of food. 15-20 minutes went by and we got menues, a woman came by and we asked her if we could order we ordered the big plates of spring rolls, we haven't eaten since 6 pm yesterday. The spring rolls came, they were very small about 1/2 the diameter of normal spring rolls, somewhat disappointed and the tast was a bit lacking no lettuce oe cilantro. We ordered a large soup and thr large pork vermicelli. About 5 minutes later, they came while the appetizer was 1/2 done , common in Vietnamese restaurants. The soup came in and large bowl, good amount noodle not so good on meat, all meat well done and taste older bit tough and chewy. I could taste the MSG, it has a distinct finish. Noodles were a bit overcooked The vermicelli was dry and I mean dry, the Dixie cup of fishsauce mixture was only about 1/3 filled so I asked for another cup, the meat was also thin and seemed to be grilled with being dredge in cornstarch. It was not tender it looked almost curly in shape the fishsauce helped a bit but meat was still dry. I like the large bowls good for the eye but I think.ingredients were short. This was for luncheon it cost $46 for food and $10 tip so lunch was $28 my value orientation is a 2 out of 5 for value for a modest lunch. I ordered 2 Bhan mi, the price was fine $8 but there was way way to much mayo and not enough marinated vegetables. I have never seen that much mayo used. The jalapeños were sliced thin and that was nice, so it didn't burn so you couldn't taste food, again grilled pork was overcooked but as much as in the vermicelli. Pho Saigon is a true hidden gem in Catonsville that locals love! It is in a convenient location with a big parking lot and a 2 minute drive from an Hmart.
